the spirit of Ed

We have no power whatsoever. The incompetant so-called "producers" in this genre have been serving up the same garbage for at least twenty years. I'll grant you some of them, a tiny handful for example and notably DWW and CalWild have finally, at long last, actually bought into a clue what we want to see. Academy too, great stuff. But, the 'Blair Witch Project' camerawork by the same epileptic homeless retard oozes through this genre like cancer - always has, always will. The foot fetish guys get more attention than us and far better production values...those freaks. We are the leper colony...the 'women haters' anonymous Little Rascals to be forever ignored and marginalized as the low status males we are. Oh well. Suck it up.

RE: the spirit of Ed

Well, the free enterprise guys should be happy. If we had a socialist government (I would say "gubbermint" but that would seem so, well, "herdish," and we all know how much the folks here hate the herd mentality!), we could get the state to demand a certain percentage of videos with beautiful, scantily-clad women wrestling for real.

It sucks! No doubt about it. Other than DWW, who else produces really quality stuff? Academy is good when the women aren't masked like a 60's Mexican movie star and more tattooed than an NBA power forward. You fellows like California Wildcats, but I prefer Video Sports. Unfortunately, Marty and Tricia have, I think, decided that real wrestling videos with hot babes sell about as well as Enron stock.

I also know that Robin really takes wrestling seriously, and would like to make competitive films, but she doesn't think the market is there.

I don't know. The VSL experience makes me think that she may be right, but then when you get a couple of female George "the Animal" Steele impersonators (and I'm not saying that Robin looks anything like that, but I've seen some photos where the women do) and put them in black bathing suits that would be popular in the 1920's, well, you're already at a severe disadvantage.

Obviously DWW sells videos or it wouldn't be expanding and putting out new films every couple of weeks. I think that they have the formula. Now G.R. will tell you that his best competitive stuff doesn't sell, but that's because the women wear one-piece suits, act as if they're in a chess match, and eschew all sexuality. You know he's moving the videos that have the topless babes in panties wrestling for real on a mat or bed or living room floor. I buy those myself.

Maybe the other producers think that DWW has that market cornered and should focus their attention on foot worship or knuckle sandwiches to the nuts. I don't know, but if one of you guys would like to give me a grant of, say, 20k, to go out to California, I'd be on the beaches during the day and the titty bars at night finding the hottest gals I could and promising them several hundred bucks for an hour or so of, as the English say, sport. I might not get rich, but I bet I could turn a profit.

I don't know what the answer is, but it's really ironic that with the proliferation of female fighting websites and production companies that the product actually seems to have gotten worse in many respects. By the way, I'm the guy who started the Sheri Whitlow site. Go check out some of the photos of Sheri and Judell's girls and the others and tell me we have more than a couple of companies that are as good. I guess we could always beg Marty and Trish to give us another VSL offering.

RE: the spirit of Ed

Good points all, Steve.
The fact that you pointed out the Whitlow and Dulong tapes of old saves me from doing it now.
Geesh, I woulda bet all my $$ on there being even BETTER rasslin videos in the future back in 1978 or 1988.
And I would have lost.
Oh, btw, pardon me if I dont go wayyy overboard with DWW; hey, they are good and one shouldn`t complain about the best, but one would also think there would be others trying to expand the horizons as it were, not simply trying to push their $3 crap on eBay or whatever, trying to make a quick buck on the sly by giving us blue smoke and mirrors. But, that`s where we are, my friend.

RE: the spirit of Ed

Or maybe we're just becoming more particular in our old age. After all, 30 years ago, I would have purchased any tape of any two women wrestling. This kind of stuff was just so hard to come by. Now, we simply pass on stuff if it doesn't measure up to our exact specs, and as our specs become more defined, that means we pass on more and more material.

One last point: Know the difference between Iraq and Vietnam?
Answer: Bush had a plan for getting out of Vietnam.

RE: the spirit of Ed

Hmmmmm .... I'm sure you complained back in the 60's, 70's and 80's when finding certain types of chick fight tapes were nearly impossible?
Sure, sometimes it still seems that way, but I do think its because the market is being floaded by garbage for all the wrong reasons.

Today its easy to get a personal video made for yourself. The problem is not everyone likes what MR JONES likes and yet the video is still later sold to the general public.
Usually that guy forks out the 700 plus dollars and the rest of us only pay 40 or 50, and still don't get what we totally like.
But, MR JONES did.

Then you get the dude who pays two chicks to wrassle for him. Maybe he gets a couple more matches together and figures "Hey I can make my money back if I sold this online!"
And so he or she does. That right there isn't a producer its a fan being greedy.
Theres a number of sites just like it online today and growing.

Then onto the women who have a bunch of friends who will get down and dirty with them and film vids. They listen to certain members and see which films sell better. If you like bearhugs, but 20 others prefer the Boston crab you can bet your arse what the next video will contain more of.

Now onto the bunch of companies who "suck".
The thing is most really don't. Its just they tend to certain peoples likings. And not every vid will meet your specific needs.

The thing is I don't blame any of the above for what they do. If it wasn't done then we wouldn't have anything. We would be back in the days of looking at the back of the dudes wrasslin mags to get a quick jolly looking at the chick wrasslin ads.

For me I love to watch humiliating endings and severe beat-downs for real.
But, I also like many holds and at times I even don't mind a headlock applied for 2 minutes if the action was intense prior to that.
Basically I'm very easy to please. Not everyone else is. I just don't agree on the prices the companies usually charge, but then again you should see what they need to pay the women.

I stick to certain companies just like the next guy. Not every video they make is a hit to me. Just like a Stanley Kubrick film. Loved Clockwork Orange and Full Metal Jacket, but couldn't stand Dr. Strangelove.

Lets face it the only way you'll love a video 100% is if you shot it yourself.

And, Bear that joke is older than Jenna Bush.

RE: RE: the spirit of Ed

If you had pointed out that my joke was older than Barbara Bush I would have been concerned. Here's another one for ya.

Teacher Arrested

At New York's Kennedy airport today, an individual later discovered to be a public school teacher was arrested trying to board a flight while in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a set square, a slide rule, and a calculator.

At a morning press conference, Attorney general John Ashcroft said he believes the man is a member of the notorious al-gebra movement.

He is being charged by the FBI with carrying weapons of math instruction.

"Al-gebra is a fearsome cult," Ashcroft said. "They desire average solutions by means and extremes, and sometimes go off on tangents in a search of absolute values. They use secret code names like 'x' and 'y' and refer to themselves as 'unknowns', but we have determined they belong to a common denominator of the axis of medieval with coordinates in every country.

As the Greek philanderer Isosceles used to say, 'there are 3 sides to every triangle'." When asked to comment on the arrest, President Bush said, "If God had wanted us to have better weapons of math instruction, He would have given us more fingers and toes."

Not bad, Bear.
Tell me: Do you think that Kerry`s peeps couldn`t have been any dumber? They were stuck in the early 90`s and NO, it isn`t merely ITS THE ECONOMY STUPID! It is, in fact, our survival, stupid.
Anyway, as a person who voted for the winner, allow me to thank the Dems for thinking that, somehow, someway, they were going to win with Mikey Moore, Madwoman Albright, the Clintonistas and the NAACP (National Association of commie Colored Peeps).
Without them, why, we`d have Lurch and his lovely (BIG Danny Thomas coffee spit) bride for the next four years. And we know we don`t deserve that! Hehe, we really don`t.

atf,
Who voted for winners

RE: the spirit of Ed

Congratulations on your vote for Da Winnah. I see that he's fired yet another Sec of Treasury who can't swallow the sound fiscal policies of this Administration. Or like our Veep says, "Deficits don't matter." Talk about the buffalo running off of the cliff.

I can't, nor did I ever say that Kerry would have been better. What I said, and what I still hold, is that this moron should be FIRED, like any other CEO who leads his charges into bankruptcy. Oh yeah, and he did that in the private sector too, didn't he?

Heya Bear...
I was trying to explain how old and not so old that joke is.
I like the newer ones you sent. I see ATF liked em too.
By now all Kerry supporters should take off their bumperstickers. If they don't its not our faults that we laugh at them when we stop at traffic lights or cut them off at rotaries :)

Take care buddies-

RE: the spirit of Ed

Yes, I agree. You win, you lose, you move on.

Also, I stand corrected. Mr. Snow IS staying on as Secretary of the Treasury. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall during those negotiations.

But I still maintain that my generation (and ATF's) has had a free ride through most of our lives. Our parents' generation paid for our well being and economic prosperity from their sacrifice during the Depression and WWII. Now, our children, or grandchildren are going to pay for their security because we won't. I hold the administration and the Congress responsible for this abomination. It just ain't right. It's not about partisanship, it's about responsiblity. Right now the Republicans are the responsible party and I hold them accountable for it.

The Republicans control the House, the Senate, the Supreme Court and the Presidency. Who else is there to blame?

Well, maybe the media.

RE: the spirit of Eddy

Your a democrat and your blaming the media now? Everyone knows the media thus far (and throughout)has been against Bush and the rest of the Republicans. Against the war, telling people they will all die if they don't get flu shots and the list goes on.
I guess what you mean is you blame Fox news.
Its the only form of media I've seen that stands "somewhat" 50/50 on world views.
The rest of the channels might as well be owned by towelheads.

No worries Bear ATF and I like you.
