RE: Oil

Stupidity will be confronted wherever it decides to rear its ugly head. It shall not be safe anywhere. No matter where you go, Nik, you will be surrounded by those who are more intelligent than you. You can not hide from us or from reality. Your opinions will be shot down and discredited wherever you decide to voice them. Stick to the porn sites, man. It's your only real chance of escaping from your reality.

RE: Oil

OK, I guess I can't get through your hard exterior of lies and misinformation. If you right-wingers want to be goose-stepping morons touting the party line and throwing caution, intelligence and the American Constitution to the wind, that's your right.
Just stop dragging our country through the thorns and muck. I'm sick of seeing you idiots waving the American flag every time you disagree with anyone. I'm sick of being called un-American and unpatriotic just because I think our president's a halfwit with a junior high school vocabulary. I'm tired of being called a traitor by you dip****s just because I don't think we have the right to invade every little dirtbag country that ****es us off.
**** you and your kind. You're the worst thing for this great country: small-minded, angry, and incapable of rational thought. You are the kind of person that the edifices of fascism and tyranny are built on.

RE: Oil

Lies and misinformation?? Oh please be more specific if you're going to throw around such accusations. Please lay out for all of us, specifically for me and my ****in' kind, exactly what lies and misinformation you are speaking of. That Iraq has chemical weapons??? That Iraq's regime has killed and tortured its own people??? That Iraq has ties to terrorism??? That Iraq poses a threat to Americans everywhere??? Please, you bastion of knowledge you, help us to decipher which of these are lies. We are only common folk and do not have access to the advanced satellite imagery that you must have. We are forced to rely on governmnent information passed down to us, not only from President Bush, but every other high level security office in Washington. We are all assuming that YOUR information comes from a source more reliable than Miss Cleo. Please help us.

RE: Oil

About oil...there is no way you could be so stupid to think this is about oil. Why didn't we take the oil fields before? You people just want America to crumble for some reason so you make up ****. "It's about the oil or Bush just wants to control the world"...hope you all get what you deserve...a slow miserable death for stabbing in the back this great country and every great man/woman that died making it what it is.

Die you sick fu#*@

RE: RE: Oil

Right on, Rich and Chuck. If i could add something tho... What bothers is that if all these antiwar protesters actually focused their undeniably impressive energy on other things, we would be doing great. If they spent their protesting-time teaching our youth to read, or volunteering to help build low income housing or donating money to charities or organizing neighborhood watches or SOMETHING other than throwing negative slander at our country's leaders, well, then this country would be improving. Stop being negative and find positive and constructive ways to contribute. If you think people who support the war are ignorant, then volunteer at a highschool to teach the youth so that they dont end up ignorant. If you think the rest of the world hates us, join the Peace Corps and go help them, thereby making them understand that all Americans are not voilent. If you th-- whatever, you get the point.

RE: Oil

I am glad to see that a good portion of other people do see things the way that i do... with that said, God Bless America and our troops... i wish everyone agreed with me, but i guess thats not how our great country works. Everyone who dissagrees with me, i guess that's your right. A friend of mine said that it was his "god given right to have a different opinion than the government", my only response was "it is actually your american given right"...... anyway i did see a posting about how this is oddtodd.com and shouldn't be political and i do agree, there's enough stress out there trying to deal with everything that is going on, we should leave this off of a fun site like oddtodd.com and just do what we did in the first place coming here. Watch the cartoons and have a good laugh.

God Bless America

RE: Oil

I believe that to take a big step toward sustainable peaceful relations with the Middle East, “the West” has to end our reliance on oil and develop a plentiful and efficient energy alternative. This view is also presented in an article in Wired magazine this month. If the big oil companies got on board and started putting real money into R+D on alternative energy sources, it would not take long (think big picture) with today’s science and engineering to come up with an alternative. Hydrogen, solar and nuclear are three alternatives that could feasibly be refined to the point that they are safe, cleaner and more efficient than oil. If oil was taken out of the picture, we wouldn’t have to second guess the actions of any western nation in the Middle East, or other oil-rich areas.

As it stands, even optimistic geologists are predicting that oil will run out at some point this century, so the alternatives will need to be developed anyway. Why not be proactive about it, start making it profitable, and give peace a chance at least in one corner of the world?
