EVERYONE READ PLEASE!

Here is what everyone should do:
When you get those damn annoying pre-approved applications in the mail, they come with a postage paid return envelope. Shred the application, and then use their envelope and their postage to send them a coupon for wart remover, or an ad for penis enlargement or something. ANNOY THOSE BASTARDS LIKE THEY ANNOY US!!!!!!!!!

RE: EVERYONE READ PLEASE!

Yeah, I do that. When I was in college they used to put pre-paid credit card applications in the campus newspaper. Once me and my roommate went around in the morning and removed as many of the apps from the stacks of papers around campus as we could carry and mailed them all in. It was over 300 in all...

RE: EVERYONE READ PLEASE!

As tempting as it may be to use the postage-paid envelope to annoy the banks, one should resist this urge, as it only increases banks' costs. Those costs, in turn, are passed on to customers including me, Oddtodd, and you.

RE: EVERYONE READ PLEASE!

In response to "Kyle":
>>As tempting as it may be to use the postage-paid envelope to annoy the banks, one should resist this urge, as it only increases banks' costs. Those costs, in turn, are passed on to customers including me, Oddtodd, and you.

-----------------------------------------------

What kind of skewed-frickin'-republican comment is THAT? First of all, the banks are not annoyed by this practice. The banks employ lowly peons, like us, at a despicable wage, to process their incoming mail. And as long as we show up for work, and continue to shuffle the crap like good little drones, it matters NOT to the "banks" what kind of postage-paid goodies arrive through the mailroom. If the "banks" were concerned with reducing costs, they would reduce the salaries of their executive staff members.

It's all paid for already, and the cost of postage to exact a little harmless revenge to make one feel better about one's miserable existence is not going to be "passed on to customers including me, Oddtodd, and you." Get a frickin' clue, Mr. right-wing numbnuts.

If I had to suffer through a conversation with you vis-a-vis, I imagine I'd have to resist the urge to projectile vomit upon your no-doubt well-pressed clothing.

Anti-Kyle, Anti-Anti-Kyle

Anti-Kyle,

Every penny paid to any peon for any seconds they work goes to the bottom line. Any penny spent on incoming postage goes to the bottom line. All expenses are passed along to the consumer in the form of pricing that covers expenses and profits.

Kyle,

Banking is very competitive like most businesses. If everyone mailed in these postage paid envelopes with funny notes and whatnot, expenses would increase. Banks do not want their expenses to increase, it makes them less competitive. This would force them to find better ways to market. The question is would the new forms of marketing be more or less annoying then the old.

I don't know the answer to that, but I'm all for these ideas listed above for dealing with all these credit card apps. If they go away, and the banks come up with ways to market that are even more annoying, we'll just have to come up with more fun ways to deal with it.

RE: EVERYONE READ PLEASE!

I can't believe I'm saying this...I agree ya Yo.

Grow up People! And throw the sh!t out. The only people suffering are the minimum or close to minimum wage clerks who have to process all of those applications.

How funny do you think "Low Interest this!" is after the 1,000th envelope?

RE: EVERYONE READ PLEASE!

There is another added bonus.
With computers, and e-mail, people send a LOT less letters these days. They pay bills on line and use less stamps.
This is one way to keep the U S Postal service going, without any $ out of my pocket. If you and I send enough mail using other people's postage, maybe we can delay the rise in the price of stamps for a few months!

Support the U S Postal Service!!
