Neo X-Death > everyone else

Two things.

First of all, Yu Yevon is not the final boss of FFX. He is nothing more than part of the ending sequence taking place in the shape of a battle. You've technically beaten FFX once Braska's Final Aeon dies, as it is impossible to get a Game Over beyond that point.

Second of all, Neo X-Death may not have the pure ingenious combat strategy of Zeromus; attack, attack, attack. But with a far more varied arsenal of attacks, he's not only harder, but a way more interesting final boss fight.

Zeromus- A WINNER IS YOU!

Zeromus was the hardest final boss in the FF series, hands down. For the battle alone, FF came close to breaking the ceiling and entering the veteran's difficulty bracket.

All the FF games (except 7) have been fun to play, and the final boss fights have been challenging enough to be rewarding, but none of them require a lot of heavy strategy except for Zeromus.

Now, for a truly challenging final boss, try taking on Indelacio from Star Ocean 2- I purposefully neglected turning off his Limiter, and took my party's average level to 160, maxed out all their skills and got the best equipment before fighting him, and it still was frustrating enough to make me swear and knock over my drink in rage.

Another really hard final boss is Nyarlahotep from Persona 2, either game.

Hard choice...

Well, I voted for Zeromus because I remember having such a hard time with him in the FFC version and the ROM. Tough choice, though, because I had a hard time with Ultimecia, too. Don't gimme a hard time for it, either; I used Squall/Zell/Rinoa almost all the way through the game and didn't bother drawing much before the final dungeon =P

The rest of the bosses were just plain cake. Especially the FFO versions of Chaos and Paramekia. Sephiroth was an absolute joke and Exodus just required you to destroy the right targets first.

Zeromus

I voted for Zeromus. It was hard the first time I beat him on the SNES version, probably because I skipped a whole bunch of battles. But on FFIV Hard Type, on PSX, he was damn near impossible until I had spent a couple of hours leveling up near the end, and he was STILL hard.

I had no problem beating X-Death.

X-Death, hard?

I really hope he isn't the hardest final boss in one of the games. FFV is the only one I've beaten so far, and after I decided not to have two characters in beserker state while fighting him, it was a piece of cake. You just need the right combination of classes (two strong physical, a white mage/summoner and a black mage/time mage. Haste everyone right away and all the boss battles in that game are decently easy).

4 and 5

Zeromus is pretty hard because he has an all party attack that he uses repeatedly. X-death is just damn hard because he has four parts and he uses huge status effects. It's crazy. All the others were easy as pie (Is pie really easy? That slut)

Zeromus

I voted for Zeromus cuz he's the only boss I've never beaten in any of the FF games I've played( though I've never played FF3 cuz it wasn't released here in the States). X-Death's up there too, only beaten him once. But the rest I've had hardly any problems beating on a regular basis.

Hmm...

I voted for Kefka, not because he is DEFINITELY the hardest (which he is probably not), but because I have never beaten any of them other than Necron and Yu Yevon (who is obviously not the hardest) and I have only tried to beat Kefka and not succeed (it wasn't even my own game, too; but I'm almost finished the game). The main reason for this is that I'm lazy, have a life outside of video games (just barely) and, truth be told, am not very good at many video games, and, after being quickly discouraged in many games after losing once at a hard fight, end up quitting for a few months. Or years.

Re: Bosses

I voted for Zeromus. It was mostly my fault for skipping too many battles in FFIV. Kefka would've been hard with a four person party, but having about fifteen makes it easier. But what I'm wondering is, who voted for Ultimecia?

What? I'm the only one?

Dark Cloud was by far the hardest from my POV, like, ever. All he does is Flare Wave, nonelemental damage to entire party, unblockable, hurts like #$(&, and there's 1/255 chances he WON'T do it and use a physical attack instead. Everything else is a pansy compared to that.

ff 9

Is it just me, or is it either feast or famine with Necron? He's either easy as hell or he kills me in three rounds. There's just no middle ground.

Then again, I haven't played ff 2 yet, so maybe I'm just missing out on a good fight with the Emperor.

And just for the record, Ultimecia is the easiest final boss I have ever fought......EVER.....in the history of the world.

FF Hardest Boss

All of the bosses are relatively easy. Each game usually has a secret or hidden or optional boss. An example is FF1 Warmech and FF7 Ruby & Emerald Weapons. The hardest boss I've ever fought was in FF2. The Emperor was a tough boss and w/o the Blood swords, I would have been toast on 2 rounds!!

Also...

Dark Cloud was a tough one too... you can really only last about 4 turns in that battle. And if you don't take down the 4 Dark Crystal bosses beforehand... well... 8(

True...

But it's not hard to mix a few Dragon Powers to boost your level to 99, you know. I'll agree with you... he WAS hard, but Emperor Palamecia takes the cake for hardest last boss. Without using the Blood Swords, I honestly have never even come close to beating him.

bleh.

Anyone who doesn't vote for XDeath / NeoXDeath obviously hasn't played FF5. Unless the dumbed him down for the PSX version, it's virtualy impossible to level up high enough to beat him easily.
