Smoking on their deck

The only thing that annoys me about my neighbors is when they go out on their deck to smoke on a hot summer evening. The smoke goes right through my air conditioner and into my home. I can't stand it!

When they are smoking on their deck, pee on their cigarettes.

DAVE...she didn't say she makes them smoke inside, she says it just annoys her. You can't be mad at someone for merely being annoyed, it's a throught.

If you smoked in your own little private plastic bubble it wouldn't bother me.

RE: Smoking on their deck

I'm just confused as to how the smoke goes through the air conditioner. An air conditioner doesn't pull air in from outside, it simply removes the humidity from the air already inside, and shoots it outside in the form of hot air(in the case of central air). Or by "air conditioner" do you mean you have a fan in the window pulling air in from outside?

So how's smoke coming in through the AC exactly?

simple solution: move upwind of them. It's their deck & their right to use in any legal manner they choose.

Nik, haven’t seen you posting anywhere for the past little while, maybe I’m just blind. Glad to see you’re still alive and kicking.

And yes Dave, you’re right, we have been infected. Perhaps we need to post a height restriction. You must be this tall to post.

Yeah Aurora, I've been A.W.O.L. the past few days. Busy with other stuff.

And yes Dave, there has been a massive influx of tots around lately. Get used to it, school's out for the summer. This happens every major school break. All we can do is bite the bullet & wait for it to pass.

RE: Smoking on their deck

Nik, What? Moving upwind is a simple solution?

I don't know if you've ever had to sell your house and buy a new one, but it's anything but simple.

BTW - I live in Washington state where nobody has air conditioners because we rarely need them. I bought a cheap air conditioner that I put in the window. I don't know how it works, I just know that regardless of if I just have the windows open or if I'm using the air conditioner, I smell the smoke.

I wonder why the smokers smoke outside instead of just smoking inside their own home... maybe they don't want their home to smell like cigarette smoke. A little ironic, I think.
