Open letter to all impersonators

So I decided to take a break from writing my term paper and come see what is happening here, and I find that people have decided it’s pick on Dragonmaster day. And wow, amazingly they all seemed to co-ordinate their efforts to post within 11 minutes of each other. Look at this organization…

Garp 1 hour 22 minutes ago
Damer 1 hour 21 minutes ago
Proudsupporter 1 hour 28 minutes ago
Dr. Zhivago 1 hour 23 minutes ago
Syrgot 1 hour 26 minutes ago
Axexa 1 hour 26 minutes ago
Fluffybutt 1 hour 28 minutes ago
And
Krishish96 1 hour 32 minutes ago

I was surprised when I saw the first one, as it came from someone who doesn’t seem to have a bad bone in their body, but as I opened the other threads it became clear that someone has much too much time on their hands.

Here’s the thing, if someone is a regular, people are generally going to know what kind of posts to expect from that person. If you are a person who feels a need to make fun of someone to make yourself feel better make up a name of your own. The forum is anonymous and Todd rarely, if ever, bans someone. He may delete something if it gets too stupid, but for the most part you are safe. So pick a name and just go at us. Really, all you do when you imitate someone is make eyes roll b/c it means you aren’t man/woman enough to be associated with your thoughts.

Essentially, grow some balls. It’s not like you need that much in a forum like this, unless you’re going to use your home phone number as your moniker.

Me? You have got to be kidding. I actually like you guys. So much for that. I can't believe I'm under suspicion. Thanks a lot.

The above posts were not made by me. I don't swear in my posts. Anyone who's even half-read my posts would know it couldn't be me.

Thanks a lot you guys.

Thank you very much Dr. Zhivago. For someone who I've never really replied to, or had reply to me you sure do dislike me.

Nice to see accusations fly when some bored kid decides to occupy his time by impersonating people. It's Pitiful that you feel the need to implicate innocent people.

Heh, well Dr.Z you impersonate being someone smart, so maybe you shouldn't be the one pointing a finger. Kid don't use my name, thanks in advance.

RE: Open letter to all impersonators

It’s not really important who is doing it, and it is hard to lay blame, as I believe most of us have been impersonated. I have been impersonated in my own thread about being impersonated. The fact remains, if this continues and we are never able to know who is being imitated and when, this board will eventually die off, b/c it will be more hassle than it’s worth.

Even as I say it’s hard to lay blame, I will wager a guess that the impostors are not regulars. If it was a regular, they would know by now that the impostor is almost always exposed, so what’s the point? Someone isn’t going to let his or her name be disgraced.

Ok I am done laughing. Serriously though I do appreciate you doing this. It gives a heads-up.

THanks Aurora for the research. I tried to find connections but seem to give up after a few minuits.

I'm just worried that when Odd Todd gets on TV that a whole lot more people will start coming here. Making impersonations even harder to catch.

Mr. Odd Todd. If you ever read this can you please consider making a login page so people don't use someone elses name. Hoppfully sparklit hads more secure forums?

RE: Open letter to all impersonators

I recommend making the forum ezBoard, Ikonboard, Invision, or UBB. They're easy to work with, you can't impersonate people, and you can give trusted members moderatorial positions to enforce the rules. The Spidweb community rarely has these problems, and when it does, the problems are stopped very quickly.
Just my two cents.

RE: Open letter to all impersonators

Hey Aurora, and Dragonmaster. I've been here before! I usually just dont have enough time to post. When was I making fun of him anyways? I posted in his defense on the "Petition to remove Dragonmaster" thread. I resent the accusition!
