a question for everyone

tk is like every other thing that is based on beleif. god the tooth fairy the easter bunny all that bull****...its all based on beleif. i beleive that the average person uses a small fraction of there brain...a sci. proven fact. i also beleive that the average person has untapped potential within them now does that mean i beleive a person can move a car with there mind? no. however i aloso dont think its inpossible. i suppose i am the anti argument. i cant argu for or against tk. however i will continue to search for the answers myself and no amount of nay saying or praise givers will truely affect me. i will make my own informed decision.

That is the way forward, do the research and form your own opinion. Good luck.

RE: RE: a question for everyone

You said "i beleive that the average person uses a small fraction of there brain...a sci. proven fact." While I agreed with what you said about researching things on our own I have to point out that you are wrong here. First of all your sentence doesn't make sense. You say that it has been scientifically proven; it is a fact. Why would you say you "believe" in a fact? If it has been scientifically proven then you don't have to "believe" in it because it IS true. We don't "believe" in facts, we accept them. Even so, it is not a scientifically proven fact that we only use a small fraction of our brain. Have you ever looked at an MRI image of the brain? Have you ever studied the brain in a basic psychology or anatomy class? Each part of the brain has a specific function, from the left hemisphere to the right hemisphere even down to small specific areas. We use our whole brain. Do you honestly think evolution and natural selection would drive us to creating an organ that we don't fully utilize? Nature does not waste anything and will use as little energy as possible to survive and reproduce. Creating and maintaining such an "energy craving" organ and not even using it all is incredibly wasteful and something evolution would not lead to. Its simple logic. But that is not to say there are certain areas of our brain that we can further develop or use. Certainly our brains are constantly evolving and improving, it is NOT a scientific fact that we only use a small fraction of our brain.

RE: a question for everyone

Well said Kevin, I would have said it myself but as my health is not so good I couldn´t be bothered on this occasion.
I am amazed that some people STILL think we dont use all our brain! Incredible!

RE: a question for everyone

lol i did too, until you explained why its false in another post. I then did some research myself and found out that humans almost definetly use all of their brain. It's a very popular rumour, and I actuelly thought it was an absolute truth and never questioned it. It really does seem to be a very popular rumour. I bet if you ask 10 people on the street how much of the brain does a human use, at least 8 will say 10-20 percent.

Stethoscope Boy,

Yes, and that 8 probably only do use 10 - 20% LOL!
Only kidding.

RE: a question for everyone

I belive that TK does exist, and i may have some possible points in its favour.
1. Ancient Egypt, how were people of that time able to move such big blocks to build the pyramids.
2. Acient Myans and Incas. Their temples are made in the Andes Mountains. How did they transport the building materials without any modern technology.

Keep beliveing

RE: a question for everyone

I'll have to disagree with Kevin. Nature has given us organs we don't fully utilize because our use for them is no longer needed. Such as the appendix which was used for digesting cellulose I believe. It's something we don't need anymore, and sometimes becomes inflamed and has to be removed.

Or what of the coccyx? A leftover from the days when our ancestors had tails no doubt, but totally useless now.

How can we discuss useless parts without discussing male nipples? They only form because milk-producing glands form in an embryo before the sex does, and it is very unnecessary.

To be clear, I am NOT saying we use only 8-20% of our brains, 33%, 50% or whatever that ever-changing number is now. Seriously, every time I hear that "fact" the number changes. I am simply stating that there are plenty of useless things natural-selection hasn't weeded out yet.

RE: a question for everyone

umar farooq,
So you think that the ancient Egyptians used TK to move the blocks that built the pyramids because you can´t think how else they did it?
How about the rather obvious method of pure muscle power, they had thousands of willing workers at their disposal, combined with ropes and levers and A frames etc. methods that are still used today.
If they used TK what ever happened to it? Did it just dissapear?
I don´t think you are being at all logical about this, you just want to believe in TK regardless of anything.

RE: a question for everyone

All right good point nameless but the parts of the body you named that are not being used such as the appendix or coccyx were at a point in the past very useful for survival and reproduction to the species. The brain though is the organ that has propelled us into a new stage of evolution and is the only reason why we are what we are today. If you think about it this way my logic still makes sense. Organs that are still "active" in individuals are organized in a way that best maximizes output for the smallest input (energy). The brain consumes roughly 20% of the body's energy and certainly evolution would not lead to an organ that diverts that much energy away from the rest of the body without being in full usage. The only reason the appendix is still a part of the body is becuase we don't need it anymore but at the same time it doesn't consume much energy in being there. This means that having an appendix or not having an appendix does not make any real change in survival or reproduction rates. I think you were just trying to nit-pick my argument but I think you should see my main point now.

Keith Mayes

Well there were test carried out by using latest equipment but scientist failed miserably.

Some scientist even belive that aliens from another world helped them....

Now if you are going to belive that then why not in Tk???

RE: a question for everyone

I have to agree with you.
Anyone daft enough to believe that aliens built the pyramids would be equally daft enough to believe in TK.

RE: a question for everyone

No, I understood what you meant the first time, Kevin. You're right, I was playing devil's advocate for the sake of argument. Sometime I like a good debate. If it's any consolation, I usually try to argue against the point with the most validity. Makes it harder.

Of course we both agree that the brain is 100% in use. I think that whole thing comes from someone who misquoted Albert Einstein.

What bothers me about the whole "we only use 10% of our brains" phrase, is that it suggest that we can remove 90% of our brain and still be fully functional. Can you imagine how ridiculous that would be? Also, do you ever notice how often that number changes? Sad thing is, I first heard that from one of my teacher's in grade school...

Anyway, my apologies, Kevin.

RE: a question for everyone

Nameless & Kevin,

Re the "We only use 10% of our brain" myth.

When I first Googled this some years ago I was amused to read on a site that was outlining the history of the myth, the following put down....

"Yes Mr. Kennedy, the bullet did travel through your brain but fortunately went through the 90% part that we don´t use. Here, take these headache pills and go home."

Still funny today lol!
