RE: TK Possible

Keith, is it possible for you to ban I.P. addresses for occasions such as CJ?

It would cut down on the total morons and nutters that waste precious space posting.

RE: TK Possible

Regrettably, although I have that option, it no longer works as most users now have the system where their IP address changes every time they log on.
However, I can delete them.

RE: RE: TK Possible

I've just been reading through the forum and i must what interesting points of views. I personally have never been in contact with anyone with the ability of TK, but I do think its possible and the idea of it shouldn't be dismissed so quickly... I believe our brains are capable of things we still do not understand...

RE: TK Possible

Here we go again, here comes another one...

"I believe our brains are capable of things we still do not understand..."

Do you now? How very interesting. Nothing like throwing a belief into the argument to support the unsupportable.
The creed of the no-brainers: Because there are things we do not understand any idiot in the asylum coming up with yet another crackpot idea must be treated with respect could it just might be true.
I see.
People who think like that deserve to be in the asylum with them.

I take it you disagree and think I should have a more open mind. Lots of people tell me that!

RE: TK Possible

Keith,

I don't disagree or agree it's your opinion...

I simply think our brains are capable of more than what we think and not just in the TK department, things like memories, or dreams... Our minds are amazing and shouldn't be degraded or thrown around in loose terms... But that's my opinion not that i'm basing it on fact. But enlighten me, what makes you think our brains are just brains with no hidden mysteries?

RE: TK Possible

What you are really asking is can we do more with our brains than we know?
The answer to that has to be no.
If we could do it we would know it.
So your next question is perhaps we can but haven't discovered it yet.
If you are going to take that line of argument then you are ignoring all evidence and known laws of physics and wandering off into your own land of make believe. Taking that route you can postulate that anything is possible, even though we have no reason at all to think so.
Kind of pointless isn't it?

RE: RE: TK Possible

Not pointless, debatable...

Is there proof somewhere that I am unaware of that our brains are not capable of anything more but what we use everyday?

If so I'd like the website, but then again that too would sepculation would it not? How do we know what we are reading is not something posted by a non-believer such as yourself?

I don't kid myself I don't know for 100% that our brains are capable of more, but I do keep an open mind with regards to this old age topic...

"Is there proof somewhere that I am unaware of that our brains are not capable of anything more but what we use everyday?"

You cannot prove a negative. You cannot prove me wrong if I claim to be able to levitate.

The proof rests with those making the claim.
What you are suggesting about the brain is just idle speculation, it cannot be tested.

"You cannot prove a negative. You cannot prove me wrong if I claim to be able to levitate."

So how can you prove that our brains cannot do anything more just because its 'claimed' that it can't. I could throw the same statement back at you...

"The proof rests with those making the claim.
What you are suggesting about the brain is just idle speculation, it cannot be tested."

RE: TK Possible

The proof is in the pudding my friend. Countless BILLION experiments every day. Trillions of manhours of experimental data. Nobody has ever done or been able to do telekinesis. In any rigorous scientific study, I believe nearing infinate hours of negative results constitutes proof.

RE: TK Possible

I go back to the same thing i said before i can't prove that it exists but you can't prove that it doesn't...

Countless scientific studies have been done and yet nothing's been confirmed. If like you said:

"In any rigorous scientific study, I believe nearing infinate hours of negative results constitutes proof."

Why do so many studies need be done if the results are always the same? (Negative...)

Why do so many "rigorous scientific" tests, if the results are going to come up inconclusive?

So that would mean there is no actual proof, as no scientist has come up with proof, proving that there is no TK...

RE: TK Possible

I just don't think you get it do you. You cannot "PROVE" a negative you can only "PROVE" a positive. If TK existed, somebody could prove it. All they would have to do is demonstrate TK. The reason why they do countless experiments on it is because it is a highly prevalent myth within our societal construct that has perservered throughout time because there are all sorts of nutters and scammers out there who claim to have TK for one reason or another.

The crux of your argument is your statement that you cannot prove TK exists. While it stands true that I can't, if it did exist somebody could prove it and it would have been rigourously documented at some point in history if not right now. I would think that out of the 6 billion people on the planet, 1 of them would be able to demonstrate TK if it existed and if so, would do so.

Yes, I do undertsand what you're saying, but why do countless tests to prove to society it doesn't exist? What are they still doing tests for? If like you said,

"You cannot "PROVE" a negative you can only "PROVE" a positive."

If they can't prove a negative, why are they still doing tests???

RE: TK Possible

Gigantic sigh,

Sir, they are not trying to prove it doesn't exist. They are trying to prove it exists or find evidence of its existence. That is how scientific study works.
