FFX-2

One time I stayed up 3 days straight in FFX-2 to max out all the classes in that game since I didnt bother to level up until then. Another time I stayed up 28hrs. straight to level up on Ragnarok Online, I got from lvl1 novice to lvl75 Sniper in that time.

Tales of Symphonia

When I first got the game, I saw that if you fight 255 battles on hard mode, you will unlock Lloyds "Berserker" title. The berserker title gives yoy tons of HP, and Strenght. So I sat right outside of the first town, and for four and 1/2 strait hours, I did nothing but fight enemies until I learned it. It does not compare to any of your stories (except for maybe my Dragon Warrior\Paladins Quest one) but that us the longest time I have ever spent leveling up in a game.

RE: poll

I once went 32 hours straight. I then slept for 16 hours but yeah. Let's just say I have trouble believing I could still see the screen I was playing. I also went 18 hours once and fell asleep sitting up with the control in my hand. Let's say it was an odd experience waking up.

could never go beyond 10 hours...

As much I as love RPGs, an experience with a smoking monitor from overwork has detered me from going beyond 10. Besides, there're always alternative sources of entertainment at home e.g. TV.

Must... Train... Must... Raise... Levels...

8 hours, 11 minutes. .-.;;; Special thanks to Tales of Symphonia, with it's Run Timer, for that unusually precise time. Side quests involving hideously overpowered bosses can do that to you. *returns to his training regiment*

On the opposite side of the spectrum...

I've recently come into contact with knowledge of something called the "30-hour famine." I talked to someone who did it, and he said that you'd spend only 10 hours awake. That's 20 hours of sleep in the span of two days, or one night. Weird.

Well...

Once when I was about seven my parents had guests, and I was basically told to stay in my room for the duration. I'd just got Zelda: Link to the Past (shows you how I was, huh?) and before I knew it I'd completed the game in one sitting. I wouldn't be able to do that today.

Well, the thing is...

More than 12 hours may be common, but it's not necessarily good. I think, probably, my longest was 8 hours, just a guess. After about 20 hours, I'm way too tired to do anything, anyway. But that's just me. Besides, I need to take constant breaks for... Mmm... Food.

On a side note, the average adult human requires 8 hours of sleep a day. Who woulda' thunk?

12 hours????

I agree, 12 hours is too short. I stayed up for three days straight playing FF7. I took cigarette breaks and such, but essentially, it was three straight days. I also played Langrisser 1 for about 20 straight hours.

Won't somebody please think of their health? ;-)

If we're talking non-stop, than for me it's 2 1/2 hours tops- I have spent whole days playing RPGs before but I always took 45-minute long breaks between "binges" to stretch my legs, do something else instead. I know the game'll still be there when I get back. :-)

long run

I once spent an entire Staurday (8:00 am to about 11:00 pm) playing Chrono Trigger. Good gravy, that game is addictive.....

It hurts to remember... :P

In fact, I'm not even sure if that really is the longest. It depends on whether or not you count an 8 hour Ancient Cave run (*&^ING GOLD DRAGONS!).

But other than that, I recall playing Star Ocean 2 recently for like 4.5 hours from Lacour T of A to the start of Disc 2. The strange thing? I didn't even notice how incredibly hungee I was until I lost to the Synard.
