I'm a huge fan from Taxe, and have seen them on several venues all around LA (Whiskey a GoGo, Keyclub, Lake Arrowhead, ao). They ROCK THE WORLD !!! I mean hardrock has been laying low for quite some time and it's hard for a rock 'n roll band to stand out these days. But all of us playing hardrock should stick together and not be fighting about who's better and who's not. Listen, there is no best band, we're all the best if we keep fighting for rock 'n roll. The rock 'n roll lifestyle has to come back and it's bands like the listed above that can make this happen. Not to forget the fans ofcourse, those are the one's that will really make it happen!!! Well, I just hope that these awards don't put all the bands in a hostile position against eachother. Cause that whould be the most foolish thing of all..... \m/ peace \m/

Posted By: Rob from Afterlife Posted On: Oct 21, 2004 Views: 3744	Keep the Rock Alive Dear voters, I checked out the polls today for Best Hard Rock Band for the 10th Annual Rock City News Awards, and truthfully, I felt like ****. We were in 1st place, I should have felt great, but I felt like ****. I took a look at the comments below the results and saw accusations of rigging the awards. Are they rigged? I don’t know but I also don’t know what could have made us stand out to the people at Rock City to think that we should be winning. If people are having a tough time voting, I don’t know what to do about it because I don’t run this thing, but apparently, our fans, friends, and family members aren’t. What I don’t understand at all is the fighting words on these comments. Look at us! How many Hard Rock n’ Roll Bands are there in Southern California? I’m betting there’s not much more than who is nominated for this award. Why the **** are Hard Rock fans/bands fighting with each other? Real, true rock ‘n roll is hard to find nowadays we are a rare species. Why the hate? And don’t lie to yourselves, if Blackbird was winning, or if Taxe, or Cessation of Life (who I last checked was smokin’ em in the Best Metal Band category, good job you guys), or anyone you would be feeling like **** too when you see Hard Rock fans thinking you’re a fake. So what now, instead of saying “Hard Rock is the ****in’ best music out there!” people are saying, “My Hard Rock is better than your Hard Rock.” **** THAT. We’re all Hard Rock in the end, and we could all be each other’s fans. I mean, vote for your band and all, but we can still go out to the shows, buy the cds, show some love and support for fellow rockers. There’s a reason why we’re all on this poll together, fighting for this award—-calling, emailing, posting, instant messaging, faxing EVERYONE WE CAN to vote for us. And it’s because we are all extremely committed musicians (and hell, damn good as well I might add). It’s **** like this that answers my question of why the Hard Rock music is so scarce in SoCal. This isn’t RAP people, no need for hate. Anyway, thank you for giving me your time; if you have any comments or questions you want to send me personally, you can send them to afterlifeband@aol.com.
