RE: Poloisous

Observant - if you were truly observant, you would have noticed that I have mentioned where I am from several times!

Stillwater, Oklahoma (specifically, the East side!)

Hey, gimme a break here. I've only been paying attention to this board for a couple of weeks.
Oklahoma eh? Do you like it there?

RE: Poloisous

The EAST SIDE

The West Side is even better. The Country Club is on the West side, and the only thing of substance on the East Side is a couple of "tote-the-note" used car lots, and a ditching and excavating company... oh ya, the town graveyard.

The West Side ROCKS - not to chingy

RE: Poloisous

The Country Club is in City Limits, and Yost nor the 'county' fairgrounds are IN town... and Yost is more North than East....

So There... I like Oklahoma too!

RE: Poloisous

Would it be wrong for me to assume that you're both talking about Oklahoma City and it's suburbs and not the entire state?

RE: Poloisous

Stillwater is 60 miles north of Oklahoma City, and about 65 miles west of Tulsa. It is the home of Oklahoma State University, the Cowboys! We are in the Big 12, which sucks, I preferred the Big 8, oh, the good ole days...The population is about 40,000. The town is growing, we are in the process of redoing our football stadium, we redid the arena where basketball and wrestling are held. We hold more national championships in wrestling than any other school. The National Wrestling Hall of Fame is here, Garth Brooks went to college here and got his start here, OSU has a great Vet program and a great Accounting program. We have the highest real estate prices in the state of Oklahoma along with Edmond, because we are just a kick-ass little college town! Ever heard of Eskimo Joe's? It is from Stillwater. That stupid peanut butter that is wrapped up like cheese slices was invented her, like you care, the All-American Rejects are from here, like anyone cares, and we have a fabulous golf course here. (NOT the one in the Country Club! Ha!)

RE: Poloisous

Stillwater has a pop (as of 2000 US Censun) of 58000 people, there are NO golf courses on the East Side, and the Jack Nicholas Course (Carston Creek) is located 5 miles WEST of Stillwater, OSU is on the WEST side of Stillwater, and the Shopping Cart, and Parking Meter were both invented by Engeneering Department. OSU has an outstanding AG department and ARchetcher (spelling sucks -- but I am tired and it is late) dept here. But GirlUWant is correct... Stillwater has one of the highest Realestate brackets (people are building million dollar houses here) and it has a small town charm in a Cosmopolitan atmosphere. East side is not only in Stillwater, but it is a great place to live, reguardless if you live on the EAST side, or WEST side. GirlUWant comes from the East side, and she is pretty OUTSTANDING!!!

RE: Poloisous

I see.
So, Stillwater is the place to be in Oklahoma!
I can only imagine what a million dollar home would look like there. They must be stunning.

I know that back in Ohio, the million dollar homes are breathtaking. Out here in Hawaii, you might be able to get a two bedroom, plantation style house for a million dollars. No yard, no property, nothing. Just the house.

It doesn't help matters any that I make the same wage as I did back in Ohio seven years ago.

I love the islands and want to stay here but the local people make it so hard to do.

OK, I'm getting whiney, time for bed!
G'night all.
