'BACK EAST' would only be correct if you originally came from the east, then went west, and are now going east again. If that's not the case, the 'OUT EAST' would be the correct terminology.

Well, since you're saying it's all relative to a person's perspective anyway, which I agree with, there's really no point to any of the terminology - might as well just say "I'm going to Montana" or "I'm going East" - it's more efficient that way, too.
