Visit the pyramids

I'm a history buff. I'd love to go there. There was a thing on the history channel about an Egyptologist who thinks that the Egyptions were just doing maintenence on the pyramids. The ones at Giza. That they were built long before any Pharos. Only those three though, the others, like the step pyramid were built by them. He says through some new carbon dating thing says that the pyramids at Giza, the easter island faces, Stonehenge, and the Nazca lines are from about the same time period. Even I had a hard time believing someone would try to make a claim such as that, but guess who he is? The leading Egyptologyst. The one you see on TV all the time with the cool accent. He's also the one who found the evidence for the pyramid texts, who's contents are supposed to tell how they built the damn things in the first place. Since we cant do it now, how did they. They are supposedly under the sphinx in an underground maze. So he took a bunch of equipment there and guess what, it's hollow under it. Only the Egyptian government isn't about to let him dig under the sphinx to get them. Figures.

Mabie he just got to much sun, or he could be onto something.

Visiting the pyramids is a lame choice. Most likely you'd be disappointed. If you've ever done any travelling you'd know it's likely to be a bad experience. Always try to avoid tourist mecas.

I think if the world ended in a week everyone would be screwing each other and getting high. It would be like the 60's all over again.

"or if there is a sudden thing where the world will end in a week, what would you do?"

Savor the thought that you would go with it.

"or if there is a sudden thing where the world will end in a week, what would you do?"

Kill little frogs and rats, and make a dog and cat have sex so they can make a doat... which is a animal that is half cat and dog!
I will be naked running in the streets with a gun and a cowboy hat on, yelling
"I HAVE TWO PENISES! POWER IS ME!"

I would do acid, maybe heroin and shrooms too. Then I would eat a ton of burritos. That probably sounds like a typical Saturday night for some of you...

RE: Visit the pyramids

Dragonmaster,

I hope you are better at making coffee than you are at history. For being a history buff, you don't seem to know much of it.

1 - Andrew Collins and Robert Bauval are the leading Egyptologists like Elron Hubbard is the leading Theologist.

2 - Two scientists on the expedition shown have issued a statement noting that the video being shown was edited in such a way to be misleading.

3 - The water shaft entrance leading to the Sphinx has been known for a very long time. It is not a secret. It could not be entered because it was under water until 1997.

4 - Excavation under the Sphinx is not permissible because the entire chamber is under water.

5 - Carbon dating only works on carbon based life forms. Since stones have never been alive there is no way to measure how much c-14 has decayed since the objects death.

6 - It has clearly been proven by reputable scientists that the pyramids could be built by the Egyptians quite easily.

I'm surprised you didn't bring up the belief by some that there is a space ship under the Sphinx.

L. Ron Hubbard is the leading theologist? You are seriously mistaken my friend. That guy is a legendary quack whose status in the theological community would be close to 'cult leader' if he could only find a few more whackos to follow him around.

RE: Visit the pyramids

Ok then, explain this to me, how could they do it if we cant now? I've heard something about giant earthan ramps, that sounds like bull, since there is no leftover dirt mounds, and just try to move a block that big on a sand ramp.

I'm not saying aliens built them. Just that there have been other civilisations with technology that we have lost, and why stop someone trying to find it.
