RE: Fifth

None of these are me, including the first post. If you ever see gay, racist, or sexist jokes or a "Fifth" etc topic, supposedly by me, it is not me. The two "First" posts are me though.

Although I'm rather honored that I'm apparently cool enough that someone would get jealous and try to make me look dumb.

RE: Fifth

Crank - I wouldn't have thought you would own a Trans-Am, just maybe have a cool shirt from Hot Topic. What is a 350Z? I'm guessing Nissan...stick shifter?

I used to have a Honda S2000, but didn't get it in the divorce!

So what kind of computer un-crap do you do?

RE: Fifth

Yes, Nissan 350Z and stick shift is a must. I looked at the S2000 and the RX8 but the 350Z is more my style of driving. The S2000 is pretty cool. You should have had a better lawyer.

I do motion graphics and animation.

Oklahoma. That reminds me of something I heard on Comedy Central this weekend. Tulsa spelled backwords is a slut.

RE: Fifth

Cranky, glad you have a stick shift! I was kind of disappointed in the S2000 because it was such a low-torque vehicle that I couldn't even get it to peel-out. I also thought the stereo was lame! It did shift nice, but I would have rather purchased a BMW, but the ex wanted it because the gears were more like a motorcycle and that is really what he was into. He had a Yamaha R1 at the time. The guys he worked with thought he was so spoiled, but he did work his butt off for them both...and he was really good with his money...wow, I am actually complimenting my ex! Something is wrong with me!

Motion graphics and animation! I took a JavaScript class last year and even that was difficult for me, I'm sure I would be totally lost in what you do! Do you spend the day typing code?

RE: Fifth

A Z4 would have been a lot more fun than the S2000 I think. Stick shift of course.

Generally I spend my day doing animation and motion graphics. An example of motion graphics are the crazy promos you would see on Comedy Central. Animation can range from something cartoony like OddTodd's style to photoreal like you would see in almost any movie these days.

RE: Fifth

Where does your work end up? Websites, television...???

I think my next car is going to be a Corolla XRS. I love little cars that zip around and the top of the line version comes with the spoiler, ground effects, six-speed, alloy wheels - the only option I demand is the moonroof. I have mine open almost all the time. I have a Camry now and love it. I have always wanted a BMW, and a lot of that has to do with the stick shift issue. I love Lexus, but I think they only come in automatics! Correct me if I am wrong, I would love to think Lexus is that cool, but I am thinking that when I went on their site, this was the case.

So your car is one of the new cool ones?

RE: Fifth

Yea, I always try to have a fast little car. I don't think Lexus has manual transmission. I know they don't in the SC and if that one doesn't I don't know which model would.

It depends on the client. It can end up in corporate video and meetings, CD-Rom applications, on occasion the web. Whereever they want to use it.

RE: Fifth

I think it is nuts when people buy an expensive sports car and then get it in an automatic. My ex's dad had a Porsche 928, which was a cool car, but it was an automatic! Shouldn't all Porsches be sticks?!

I know that commuters in stop and go traffic complain about sticks, but I live in a college town. I have lived in a big city before and still chose a stick.

RE: Fifth

I thought it was law that a Porsche must be manual transmission. Any automatic Porsche should be painted sissy pink.

RE: Fifth

Haha...everytime a friend for a new sports car, we asked the size of the engine, and all that stuff, and as soon as they say automatic, laughter can be heard for miles.

RE: Fifth

Right you should laugh.

Careful of the engine size though. The Lotus Elise has 1.8L 190 HP but will hit 60 in 4.6 seconds and will run corners like it is on rails.
