RE: favorites

I fondly remember Girl U Want, Working in a coal mine and of course whip it. I remember buying the 12 inch of whip it, I think it was live, because the shop kept selling out of the single (remember vinyl records?).

Anyway, I would not call myself a fan as such, its a bit like The B52's, you just like what they did.

Of course I remember vinyl. I had the coolest set of vinyl and then my stupid ex-husband talked me into giving away my albums. I had like 125 albums. They were always alphabetized. It was really hard for me when cassettes became more popular because then if I bought one, then I wouldn't have the vinyl. I wasn't much of a fan of the cassette, but I was a fan of driving around in my car listening to music...that was such the drama of my life vinyl vs. cassettes...wow, life was so simple then.

Among my stash was: AC/DC, Billy Joel, Foreigner, Styx, Journey, Led Zeppelin, REO Speedwagon, John Cougar, Jefferson Starship, DEVO, Bad Company, Eddie Money, Molly Hatchett, April Wine, Def Leppard, Rod Stewart, Cheap Trick, Police, Pat Benatar, Atlanta Rythum Section, Kansas, Boston, Chicago, Eagles, Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Elvis Costello, Queen, The Cars, Billy Thorpe, The Sugar Hill Gang, Earth, Wind and Fire, The Commodores, Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack, Grease Soundtrack,Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heartsclub Band Soundtrack, Nigel Olson (it sucked, I don't know why I bought it), Barry Manilow, J. Geils Band, The Clash, and more...

I was never as fond of my cassettes...I remember when I had to made the decision to buy the next DEVO on vinyl or cassette, because I was driving and I had this huge boom box for laying out at the lake with...anyway, I chose the cassette. Still not sure whether that was the right decision! LOL!

Oh, to be a self-absorbed teenager again...
