Treo 800 without Keyboard

There is absolutely no way I would buy an 800 with the virtual keyboard. I would however love and adore the idea of the 810 sliding keyboard with much larger screen. While this type of thing is available from other manufacturers I am a die hard Palm user and nothing else will suffice. So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PALM MAKE A TREO WITH THE 810 FORM FACTOR! A slide out and a larger screen will make the treo 800 series destroy the competition and maintain its rightful place as the best PDA Phone available. IMHO.

Treo-hell-no

I love Treo and Palm Inc innovation to various new technologies. These have been the most agressive moves by Palm in the last few years, their efforts are most commendable. But for once I wish they would make a REAL PHONE !!!!!

Keyboard-less Treo

I honestly never use my Treo 600 keyboard. What I like of Treo is the ability to write by pen. I would like to have a wider screen with a virtual keyboard to display when strictly necessary.

Comment for upcoming Treo

It's true that The REAL keyboard is Treo's soul
I think they should keep them up.

About Treo 700 which its screen became 240 x 240, I think it's a real bad thing.

I think they should consider to use internal antenna, wider keyboard (dimension about 11.5 x 7.0 x 2.0) for easier to typing, wider screen (decreasing scrolling when viewing or editing document, and also when browsing).

Go ahead and make refinements like faster memory, bigger memory, better battery life, using lower watt-needed chipset, 2 megapixel camera with controlable flash, adding radio fm tuner, adding tv tuner, mp3 ringtones.

But adding more features, should not made the Treo unstable.

Concept Treos

Hmmm, I suppose I could get used to typing without tactile feedback, but I'd HATE smudging up the screen constantly, like I know I would...

Treo 800

This would be the death of the treo. It's always been known to have a TKB, so why break tradition?

Treo virtual keyboard

I used to own a P800, and used the virtual keyboard after the "real" keyboard broke off. No tactile feedback makes it frustrating to enter text. Please stick with the physical keys.

The current form factor ain't broke. Please do NOT attempt to fix it. Sliders get loose and sloppy plus they limit case options (I use Krusell zipper case with clip pad cut off; very slim in jeans pocket and keeps dust out). I just broke my right hand so one handed use has become real important and it works!

Go ahead and make refinements like memory, even better battery life, slightly slimmer might help, you might be able to shrink a slight amount of size between the ear piece and the screen, but don't mess with the basic design.

Which Treo?

It is very clear that Treo 650 is not only a winner but the standard for future convergence devices. Have anyone seen the proposed motorola razrberry aka franklin? Future Treo 650 does not need no 480x320 screen, no slidding or virtual keyboard. It does not need to be broader than it is now. All this perfect and acclaimed standard form factor needs is Hires 262k 320x320 color screen 1-2gb internal memory, 64 or 128 RAM, Megapixel camera with flash, polished UI, bundled capable basic software as TCMP player, Pocket Tunes Deluxe, Resco Photo Viewer, doc to go, polished phone software and phone UI, standard AV i/o jack, good battery life. Treo 650 is not experimenting on identity of form factor, it is the standard, all that it needs is to be polished up.

No everyone needs keyboard

On screen keyboard is funky but I belong to the group that need no keyboard. Bigger screen, faster processor, no antenna appeals to me. Leave out the keyboard and make it cheaper:)

U.I. is awful

This is not a good idea in my opinion since the carefully put together U.I. would be ruined. How do you go from typing to button selection quickly? Can you imagine all the rotating/flipping you would have to do!?
