For real Asian cuisine, especially Chinese and Japanese - there are a lot of foods with unusual flavors/textures that Western tongues would initially receive as repulsive. After eating those things for a while you get used to it and start to enjoy it, as your palette expands. There is one well-known dish in Taiwan called "Dzo-Tofu" - or "stinky tofu" - that smells like dried dog shit. Yummy. |
