I know that there is the wear all black, dyed black hair, maybe some white face make-up with black eyeliner and stuff, looking all mopey and unapproachable, listening to "goth" bands blah blah blah but really, what's the whole misery look for? And how is it that kids that look plain one day show up all funny the next? I remember these kids in HS who were "goth" and they delved into the underworld of sex and drugs too. They were wayyyyy faster to judge others than should have been expected too. Please somebody enlighten me as to why pastels have to be their enemy! |

| Posted By: adam Posted On: Aug 9, 2005 Views: 1053 | RE: what is goth? these ppl (such as james) are attention starved...daddy never played catch with them and mommy never had breakfast ready in the morning, so they start to listen to music because they feel rebellious and they end up not doing much of anything at all so they think too much and the music pretty much convinces them its cool to dress like that....alot of them take it a step farther because only POSERS just do the clothing...so they get into it, get "depressed", claim they are "wiccan", and since noone likes a depressed wiccan who chooses not to help themselves, some turn to drugs and slowly piss their lives away...like sid vicious i think nowadays alot of those ppl dont do much drugs |

Everyone laughs and they have to sit alone at lunch. By adopting the goth persona they can tell themselves that everyone is laughing at them because they are a unique rebel with secret knowledge that makes them superior to the masses. |

My eleven year-old went through this phase last year, where she sort of went "poser" goth...it was so weird...fortunately, when she figured out that for one, I hated it and gave her crap like every day and yelled at her for looking stupid and that people were just going to make fun of her and for two, it was extremely stupid and not really her, I was happy that when we went shopping for school clothes for middle school that she chose Bubblegum brand jeans with cute little stars as the rivets, a lime green skater boy type belt, and pink belt with star cut-outs, and some cute t-shirts that aren't goth looking at all...one is Betty-Boop. I did influence her to buy a black t-shirt that had the KISS logo in little silver stud things. It is so cute and I told her that she just had to get it...even though she couldn't even name you one KISS song...lol I think preppy is going to be very big this year...so the look will be "Saved by the Bell"... |
