RE: Tracey rules! ^_^

Mmm, Pringles... ^__^ Yeah, we call what you call 'chips', 'crisps'.
Language is a funny thing. We speak the same one, yet we still have trouble understanding each other sometimes. That's so crazy.

Crisps? Excellent! Also a word I hear a lot in Brit slang is "posh." That means, like, fancy, doesn't it? It's a cool word. ^^

RE: Tracey rules! ^_^

Yep, posh means fancy. I'd would use it to describe someone like the Queen. I even know where the word came from. (Big explanation ahead, I feel like looking smart. XD)
In the 'good old days' when Britain was a strong empire, trips to India were popular amongst upper-class people. To get to India, people went in boats all the way around Africa and then back up to India. On the way out there to India, you'd want a cabin on the port side, so you'd get the best view. Coming back, you'd want one on the starboard side for the same reason. Therefore, the richest people went Port Out Starboard Home. Take the first letter of each word and you get 'posh'.
Wow, I feel so smart now. ^__^ That won't last long...

Wow! That's awesome! I don't know where any of our words came from. Well, I know "radar" and "scuba" but I think they have those in England, too. Our country just steals from other countries, I think. =P

Did you know that a lot of other countries don't think that Alaska is part of America? In Japan, they'll treat you very nicely indeed if you say you're from Alaska. They love Alaska, probably because of the fish. In Japan, they have dinky little salmon, but in Alaska, salmon are huge! When I heard this, I joked, "Alaska: Too cool to be American!" XD

But I do love America.

Yep, we gots radar and scuba over here too. Nicking foreign words is fun. All the best words are foreign, especially French; restaurant, café, croissant etc etc. ^__^
Eww, salmon is yucky. :P It's cool how they jump up waterfalls and stuff though. ^___^
It's good to love your country. That way, your country is less likely to do stupid things to lose your identity like joining the Euro. That topic does make me rather mad. Keep the Pound, that's what I say!

RE: Tracey rules! ^_^

Yeah, I'm kind of bothered by that, too. You see, we Americans have this "Let's be different than every other country in the world" sort of attitude. It's quite funny. Other than some nowhere country, we're the only ones who don't use the metric system. Not only that, but we're just a baby country of 200 years, and we're still bigger than every country except for Russia and Canada! ^_^;

It's good when it comes to expressing individuality, but I'm afraid America's just going to tick off every country on the planet one of these days. Then, they'll all go to war against America and we'll be crushed into a fine powder beneath their heels! Well, okay, I'm being a little overdramatic. But what would happen to the anime industry?

RE: Tracey rules! ^_^

We kinda take history for granted over here. Which is kinda strange when you think about it, we should be happy that the Romans invaded! Well, they did give us Latin, I love them for that. ^__^

The bigger they are, the harder they fall. America's gonna have to be very careful. I doubt England would pose any threat, we're definitely one of your best friends. Plus, we need a big old country like you to protect us. I mean, you did end the World Wars for us! America's like a bigger, younger sister! (Aww, that's sweet! XD ) Actually, I think America's biggest threat is George Dubya Bush. One day, the world will get decent leaders.

RE: Tracey rules! ^_^

Aww, Dubya ain't that bad. I mean, sure he wants to crush Iraq, but I do like the way he handled the terrorist attacks. I just wish he weren't so eager to fight. I mean, people always compare him to Clinton, but Clinton didn't have something like 911 to deal with. But then again, Clinton supports something that both Dubya and I are against, so of course I would prefer Dubya. ^_^;

England used to be our mother country...Now she's our sister country? oO My, how times change!

Least he's not like Hitler. We can be very very thankful for that. I wil give him some sympathy though. He does have a huuuuuge job, I won't say for a minute that it'd be easy.
I think we're better as sisters. If we were your mother country, you'd have a lot of other mothers too, because people from all over Europe came to the USA, so it's not fair on them if England is the mother country. Plus, being sisters is much more fun!

RE: Tracey rules! ^_^

Yeah, that's true. I actually meant because America was British territory, but was also Spanish, French, and Russian territory. So aside from Mother England, there'd be Mother Spain, Mother France, and Mother Russia. I was reading a book once where this Russian guy was talking about how Alaska should return to Mother Russia. Rai-chan thinks it should become part of Canada. =P

So...how are you doing, my English sister?

RE: Tracey rules! ^_^

Wow, that's a whole lot of mothers! I reckon Alaska should stay how it is. But, hey, I don't live there, my view doesn't count. Though it would make sense to become part of Canada. Isn't Alaska the furthest north, south and east of all the states?
I'm very well thank you because a really popular boyband over here called Blue are coming to perform at our school! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH! I'm so happy!
And how are you doing, sis? ^__^

RE: Tracey rules! ^_^

Hmm...Well, from an American's point of view, Alaska is the furthest north and west. I like Alaska the way it is, too, but if it became part of another country, I wouldn't complain. I'd just consider myself Russian, or Japanese, or Canadian, or whatever. But no matter what, I will always be Alaskan. ^_^

I'm fine. I'm leaving Pokemopolis, though. I'm not going to make a big topic or anything. I'm just going to fade into obscurity.

RE: Tracey rules! ^_^

Doesn't Alaska cross the international date line, making it the furthest east? I think I heard that somewhere.
I'd feel the same way. If someone asks me my nationality, I say I'm English. British is all very nice but Great Britain isn't so great anymore and United Kingdom, hah, that's a joke. We're not united anymore. :(
Sorry to hear about you leaving Pokémopolis. ;_; You had fun whilst you were there though, right?

RE: Tracey rules! ^_^

I don't know. Seriously. Maybe it does. But America-wise, it's the farthest west. How could it be the farthest south? oO

Pokemopolis was okay, but I was sick of reading R-rated posts and people saying they were only PG-13-rated. Yeah, like Austin Powers was PG-13. It was borderline, and definitely leaning more towards an R rating.

RE: Tracey rules! ^_^

Waa! I didn't mean south, I meant west. -_- I feel so dumb. And to think I opted to do geography for GCSE...
Yeah, that can be a problem. It doesn't bother me that much though, I just stop reading or looking or whatever and go and look at something nicer.
