Atlantis complex

Has anyone read it yet? Mine came in the post this morning, read it.

It's pretty terrible, did anyone else feel the same?

RE: Atlantis complex

I havent read it to be honest. I probably won't until I get my hands on it. But from what i can tel from the synopsis... I don't like it much.
Opal doesn't even make an appearance I think. Even after that cliffy!

Ugh.. well hope I get a reply lol. -_-

***Spoler*****

I hear that Holly and Trouble are gonna go on a date? O.O

Besides that, were there any hints of Opal?

RE: Atlantis complex

OMG I was sooooo excited about this because it's been two years since The Time Paradox came out and I thought it would pick up at the cliffhanger, with the Opal Koboi from the past trying to free the present Opal Koboi. But no! It was about Turnball Root's weak "evil plan" focussed around seeing his wife! Plus, I was looking forward to seeing Artemis lose his mind, but even that go quite annoying. And the ending was weak. SOOOO WEAK. This was my least favorite book so far, DEFINITELY. Well, one good thing came out of reading it; I realized that the reason I love these books is Artemis's genius. When Artemis went crazy, it felt like losing someone I love. I LOVE YOU ARTEMIS!!! :) lol NOT jk

RE: Atlantis complex

Ah, so it didn't pick up from that cliffy. Disappointing...

Hopefully I'll get my hands on it soon enough. However based on the feedback some people are giving, this book is poor in quality compared to the others.
And to me it seems that some of it is, OOC. I mean "aliens" are too cliche, don't you think?
Some fanfiction is doing better at this point.
Oh well, I'll read it when I can.

RE: Atlantis complex

I wouldn't fork out much money for it, wait until it's in the libraries. It's do disappointing. I'd rather have given my money to a druggy.

RE: Atlantis complex

Wow, harsh. I think I'll do as you suggested and wait for it to be available in the library. It shouldn't be too long.
Well, I hope that this series hasn't gone to the dogs. It would be a pity. It must suck for the real hardcore Artemis Fowl fans. Waiting for a year, for a book that didn't even continue from the cliffhanger.

RE: Atlantis complex

we waited two and a half years; and though it wasn't as good as the others, it was still amazing. They aren't aliens, it's a reprogrammed probe designed by Foaly. It's still hilariously funny, but is a little darker than the rest and seems to be written in a slightly different style. But that's only something a mental fan like me would notice. The book is so good, don't listen to your one :)

RE: Atlantis complex

No, I noticed it was a different style, as well. Maybe he changed it because Artemis went a crazy and he wanted to give you that feel. I enjoyed it, except for the beginning. That was way too long for a couple of hours. The first entire half of the book is just the meet where the probes attack. I definitely think he should have shortened that part and added to the rest. He probably would have gotten better reviews over all if he did. This is kind of the same thing that happened with the last Harry Potter book. The entire beginning was stupid fillers. I think that they were at the end of their creative juices with those story lines but couldn't stop because of the fans.

RE: Atlantis complex

Touche. I will read it soonish hopefully. I really want to read it! Despite some negative aspects to it. Well perhaps it isn't filler, depends on the content. Its what some call 'plot movement' or 'adding to the characters' though its kind of silly. We've had 7 other books to do that. xD
Anyway sorry for the late reply. I've come late to party eh. Happy Posting~

RE: Atlantis complex

It was a good-ish book. I do think you should read it but I think that Eoin should edit more on the next one. He might have less of a boring beginning!

RE: Atlantis complex

Hmmm well in that case, if the rest is good I'll read it. Ugh but every time I go to the library most Artemis Fowl books are checked out. T.T
I'll have to try another library...

Oh and hey Artyfan! Long time no see/chat.

RE: Atlantis complex

Ditto! I don't spend a whole lot of time at libraries. I get most of my books at the bookstore. For a book to get to a library, it has to be out for quite a while. It comes out immediately in bookstores. (That's where I got the 5th Harry Potter book. Midnight party!)

RE: Atlantis complex

True. I've got a long list of books to read and buy though. Those are The Lost Hero, Haruhi Suzumiya series, John Green's books, just to name a few.
Gah! I'm neglecting Artemis Fowl. D: Also, I need to comment about the movie. I really doubt there'll be one now. It's been way too long. I wonder if the series is as strong as it was before?
