RE: Unemployment

How can you be unemployed for so long? Don't you have bills?

Adam, you're an excellent case for staying in school.

RE: Unemployment

May be able to post re: 'big day' later (big being an understatement actually), anyhow.

I am writing my resume, resumes suck and I suck at writing them. If you're one of those I-love-to-talk-about-myself types its probably easy, but alas I am just the geeky guy who likes to fix PC problems and just does his work. Whilst you can probably make that sound spectacular, I'm just over it.

For the record the only reason I am doing this in a hurry is because my old manager (who got the boot in Feb) called me and asked for it and I kind of promised. In all fairnss I'd be happy to work with him again but I just want a couple of weeks off.

So its 5.58am here, I'm drinking coffee and trying to BS my way into a new job.

RE: Unemployment

I'll never understand the business of being unemployed again. While finding a job right out of college was a challenge, since then I've developed great credentials, connections and job skills such that I don't expect I'll ever been unemployed ever again. I'm glad I took Adam's advice and got an education. At least I won't have to work at McDonald's.

Good luck with the jon hunt Burns. Also, a nice flashy resume can help a lot when you don't have any actual substance to put into it. Get creative with Word, I like to insert a lot of tables so everything looks lined up nice.

RE: Unemployment

I had a look at a resume of this woman I worked with and it was such a load of BS, she is the most evil minded feral out there. Anyway she writes that she works well in a team and leads by example and stuff, I just laughed.

And yep for education, any of you kiddies out there think its too much hard work going to University (or whatever you have in the US of A) you're totally wrong. Get an education and qualification and you will have many more choices in life.

RE: Unemployment

Snrub - did you see my font suggestions and other suggestions that I posted late last week?

I agree with Bob Dole, use a table, it makes it so much easier, and make sure that you proofread and then have at least one other person proofread it!

Don't think that you have to add a bunch of crap, employers really don't like that, but they are super picky about typos!

I am a super anal person when it comes to proofreading, so if you want to email it to me, I would be glad to proofread it for you!

RE: Unemployment

Thank you for the kind offer GirlUWant, your blood's worth bottling.

I actually have done it in Word and it looks good (without tables), I could have done it with tables but the layout looks sweet without.

I am out looking for a car tomorrow, just a small one for about AUD$4,000. Just something to get around in. Hate having to deal with thos scumbag used car sales guys
