"The pentagram is a five-point star with a long history in relationship to the goddess and spirituality. Its spiritual use can be traced back the Ur of Chaldea. Later, in Greece, the followers of Pythagoras adopted the pentagram as their symbol because of its "golden section" mathematics. When the figure of a man is interposed onto the drawing of a pentagram, it represents the idea that the microcosm, or the little universe, resides within humans. To Witches, the pentagram represents the four Elements plus Spirit; the necessary ingredients in magic to create a physical manifestation of desires and goals. Some covens use the reversed pentagram as a sign of an upper degree of initiation. Unfortunately, the Satanists have adopted the reversed pentagram, with one point downward, thus making it into a negative symbol. ------------------------------------ The ankh is a cross with a looped top that was used by the ancient Egyptians. It symbolized eternal life, and is used by many Witches today. The astrological symbol for the planet Venus is very similar: as cross mounted by a circle. If you look closely, the shape of the ankh is reminiscent of the Isis Pose. Therefore, the original meaning may have been the Goddess Herself, who is eternal life. The ankh also has similar meanings to the cross and the World Tree; that of the sacrifice connected with the savior aspect of the God. Cultures as diverse as the Norse, the Hindu, Christianity, and the Mayans all have myths of the sacrificed savior God, stemming from the use of the cross.

The concept of quintesence has been around a lot longer than goths, so why isn't that on there? Did the jews already steal the six sided star?

That is how I dress and explains my dark outlook on things. (kinda, no makeup thank you, the 80's are over) more notes; "The hexagram is a six-point star made of two interlaced triangles, one pointing up, and the other pointing down. Another name for this symbol is the Seal of Solomon, although the history behind this star goes much further back in history than Solomon. The two triangles of this symbol represent the God/Goddess, male/female, positive/negative, yin/yang of magical energy and all creation. Since these are equilateral triangles, their total sum is three hundred sixty degrees, or a circle."

(nods) Well, the three fold law simply explained, expresses the concept that whatever you send out in thought, word, deed, or magic comes back to you with three times the strength or three times the quantity. This law applies equally to your positive and negative behavior, wheather deliberate or not. One group of people came and tried to incorporate the pagans, the ones who did not want to join were killed. Their holy days were stolen, and given different names. Their writings and knowlege were scaterd by the few who got away. In the last few hundred years many of the writings and knowlege were lost. A group of woriors came and did worse to the first, and the the second group was stoped in the worst way possable by a warior. To be defeted in ones own home. The people that stoped the woriors were justified in what they did, took no pleashure in it. Now though, even that group of people have fallen into the same, taking over people by the same idea the others had, "follow us or you are our enemy". Their time will come also. When you are older look up history, and not just what they teach you in school. You will have to go through old books and not computers for this. (wow, she didn't fall asleep?) (by now the parent is there, I give a polite nod and stand up to leave) But mister, you didn't answer my question. Are you a wizzard? (I take out of my pocket two stones, look up to the parent, they nod) Here, you can keep these. One is calles Chrsyocolla and the other is Garnet. One is for protection, the other is for creativity and will help you not to be afraid. When you are older you can look up to see which one is which. (no I don't claim to be a wizzard, but one of the things they must do is have others do what they cant. by sparking the kids interest she may grow up and find something I overlooked and help others) ****, I spent 20 minuits on that and it sucks. I think one is for bull**** and the other is for bad spelling. I also don't believe someone your size can kneel down.
