games are the ulimate insomnia.

Man, games can really keep you up at night. I played the game Spiderman on the PS2 until sunrise during summer. Also, since KH II is such an awesome game, I stayed up till like 5 A.M.

My parents never got me the N64 until 2001. WELL SH*T! Get me a game system when there aren't any more games coming out just because "it's cheaper". F*cking parents.

My Dad Rocks

My Dad always let me play games he would always buy us games and when our old Super Nes broke he bought us a new one he even showed us how to make the games work. When we caught him playing Carmageddan (a super gory game where you run over people for points) he let us play it! In conclusion my Dad rocks while your Dad sucks.

the good old days

I'm 22 years old, and I used to feel the same torture as everyone here...
My father was the biggest dick about gaming. Not only did he hate when me and my sisters played videogames, but he was also really greedy with the tv (the only tv we had in the entire house at the time, and he HAD to watch some kind of sport or race when he was home or he'd flip a wig on us). I remember a few times when (I was five years old) I'd be playing Zelda for the NES and he'd be like "Turn off the idiot box! Go outside and play!" I'd be like "Let me save first..." He wouldn't even wait five seconds for me to go to the save menu and save the game and he'd turn the system off, erasing my progress. One day, my mother told me to pause the game so that I could eat dinner. While eating, I noticed my father getting ready to push the power button on the NES and I quickly yelled "No! Don't turn it off!" The bastard did anyway. He one day threatened to smash my N64 (which my grandparents had just bought for me at the time) because he was mad about something that day, but he refused to say what he was mad about. I could go on but I think you all get my point. Morel of the story: Father's are real dicks about gaming.

Not me

My mom and dad allow me to play as much as I want, except for when they say, go to sleep, turn of that machine, stop playing, bedtime... I said BEDTIME!, and other stuff, well, I think the may actually not allow me to play that MUCH, they also say I must finish my homework before playing, thanx god I'm smart (I'm not a nerd, I'm cool, I swear), but my parents, mostly my dad, allows me to eat as much burgers and pasta as I want, and gives me $5.00 to buy doritos in school, but going back to the gaming stuff, I would sneak up too, but I'm on a wheelchair.

Hey, are you reading this? Shouldn't you be playing videogames or watching TV? I mean, nerds like reading everything, from books, to bubble gum ingredients, so if u r still reading this... NERD! ur a NERD! hahahahaha! NERD!

Yeah! what gives?

I remember when I came home from some ceremony, but I didn't clap when we were all supposed to. So, my dad sits me down in the sofa, glares at me straight in the eye, and says, " Listen, son. Why didn't you clap when you were supposed to?" and I reply with my usual "umm.. er.. m.." and he goes, " Listen. If you don't learn to support these people, then there'll be no TV, no computer, no Nintendo, no NOTHING!!! Got that?" I mean, come on! So I didn't clap at the right times, (or at all, actually). BIG FREAKIN' DEAL! But, he never actually did it, though I could tell, like always, that he meant it.[Trust me. My dad has mastered the art of stern parental warnings.] Well, that's all I have to say for now.

It seems like just yesterday..

Oh yeah! Because it was! I was playing Gauntlet Seven Sorrows leveling my character, when out of nowhere my mom comes in and says the all classic, " Get off those games and go outside, they'll rot your eyeballs." ... Well so.. to counter that i went in my room and secretively played mario kart on my DS, that went fine until my batteries wore out and i realized i lost my charger. So i bought a new one and when i got home my mom got mad at me for playing my DS so she (accidently) broke my charger. No DS for me. That was a bad day in gaming for me.

****ed parents+no save point=not good

Yeah, my parents would always yell at me for not turning the game off when they said so. The thing is, they don't seem to grasp the concept that you have to save it first and to that requires finding a save station(Metroid Prime1&2), a save box(Almost all the Mario games), or a beam of light(God of War). Especially, when the save points are a ways away and to just shut it off would be a waste of work. That's why I love the games that you can pause and choose "save and quit".
