Unfortunately, too many people don't realize why you are flashing your lights so you have to pass them on the right anyway.

In some conditions this is acceptable... like in Germany when traffic is sparse... In other conditions it is downright agressive... if we come from work, the best thing to do is drive the same speed... EVERYONE

if you are in the passing lane going ten miles over the speed limit passing other drivers than the person flashing their lights needs to be patient or pass in one of the oter four lanes.move ir

Flashing to pass has been an accepted phenomenon for years. MOVE OVER! You are not the speed governor for the road.

When the lights flash after driver has come up to my rear end VERY FAST..AND CLOSE, I either (a) stay put, or (b) very slowly move over to right hand lane.

Flashing would'nt be necessary if drivers understood what those "Slower traffic keep right" and "Keep right except to pass" signs mean.

A large percent of the people taking this poll say "it is polite", but try it on 285 and see what it gets you.

I don't bother with other drivers. Just give them the 1 finger salute and keep driving.

One flash - polite, two flashes - "Is my left turn signal out, or are you just an idiot?"

It is a Northern Common Law for the 100+mph Club

Flashing to indicate the desire to pass is an accepted practice on the Autobahn in Germany, but this is the United States and flashing your hi-beams for any reason is illegal, and even if you use your low beams to flash is rude. Drive defensively.

I've been driving for 35 years. This has always been a custom and practice when driving on state/federal highways. Learned it from truckers.

If they have to falsh you, you're in the WRONG LANE! Even if you're doing 120 MPH, you are going slower thean them, and should yeild to a right lane as required by law (in most states, anyway).
