I understand what it means, but HELLO people, the laws of physics still apply. I can't go faster if there's a car in front of me, and I can't move over if there's already a car there. Get a clue!

Only New Yorkers flash their lights to get you out of the way!

It depends on why you are in the passing lane

They are morons. 9 times out of 10 some idiot comes flying up like a bat outta hell and starts with the flashing, how annoying like your the only one in a hurry? suddenly my car experiences a power loss...

Now if I got that right, and 71% of pollsters got that right, why the f*** don't they ever get out of my way?

In Germany, where I learned to drive, this is common. You are often flashed a half a kilometer away, because the oncoming car is going about 100 miles away, and believe me you don't have much time to get out of the way.

The only time that happens to me is when I am using the passing lane to PASS and am already going 5-10 mph over the limit. Then some idiot wants to go even faster and tries to get me to slow down into the slow lane so he can get around.

It would be polite if they waited for me to pass the car I was currently passing. Where am I supposed to go? I am trying to pass just as well and the car behind will just have to wait his turn.

In Europe you better move over or you could get stopped for failure to yield!

You ever driven in Germany?? Flash to pass means just that - no more.
