I have 3 friends like them named Sydney Madison and Brielle and we do crazy stuff like that together. I'm so much like Roberta (Christina Ricci) and my friend Madison is like Sam (Gaby Hoffman) and Sydney is like Teeny (Thora Birch) and Brielle is like Chrissy (Ashleigh Aston Moore) we ride our bikes everywhere and there are these dudes in our neighborhood and they do stuff like that to us a lot. But we always get them back, we watch the movie at every sleepover. And it's kinda funny cuz we didn't see the movie until a couple months ago and we were like "OMG we did that and that !!" And our parents don't really ask what we do when we're not at home. And we stole the guys clothes when they were in the showers at school (we don't know how we got away with it) and I also kissed one the guys named Jacob and no one knows. But I am a tomboy and got into a few fist fights and won and beat up the bullie and I faked my own death and scared the hell out of my friends (but in a different way) but anyway we love the movie and there is in other movie better !! |

I mean Sam fought that boy for what he said about Roberta's mom, but none of them are as mature and sweet as Chrissy, who was also the glue that held them all together. Teeny is easily the most annoying, with her attention seeking, slutty, wannabe-rebellious attitude; Sam could be OK except she was too into seances and being in charge and was almost as immature as Teeny; Roberta was mostly a good character since she was mature (usually) and fun and I loved how she and Chrissy were close, even more so than the other 2, but I hate when people make "tomboy" characters to promote girls acting like boys and pretending that's mor important than showing class and strength like a lady. Loooooooooove this movie. I wish the DVD had more features though. ;.; |

I think all the actors suited their characters well. My favorite character was Teeny. I liked her sense of style and her personality. She was caring and loving and I really loved her acting. I could basically watch this movie over & over again. *I hope more great films like this could be made again!* |

Posted On: Jan 17, 2007 Views: 4120 | anyone agree? i loved roberta, but the thing was i felt like she didnt talk very much in the movie? like she didnt even make very many little side comments. although she did have several scenes that were mostly about her, there was that whole chunk of the movie with just sam and her family and then sam and teeny together. roberta was very quiet in all the seance scenes and in the diner and stuff. i wish they had let us get to know roberta a little better and had gone deeper into her character. they never resolved the issue when chrissy said " your my best friend" and she wouldnt reply " your my best firned too" b.c she doesnt want to show emotions. i wish there was a dramatic scene with roberta and chrissy like there was with sam and teeny where roberta let out some of her secrets and told chrissy that she loved her and would always be there for her etc. or maybe a sleepover with all the girls so that we could see robertas relationship with teeny and sam. i feel like the movie left me wanting to know more about roberta and waht she feels. anyone agree? but despite this, i loved this movie and i love the character of roberta. |
