RE: Where in the World is Dr. Zhivago?

Can we get back to the original subject, which was "Why is Zhivago an a-hole"?

Thank you.

Your reading comprehension skills seem to be below average even for an American. I'm not sure which analytical technique you are using when you read the various topics, but this thread's topic was "Where in the World is Dr. Zhivago". Notice the subtle omission of derrogatory remarks. I'm willing to bet that you didn't notice this because of the eerie similarity between the various letters used and pictures you may or may not have seen elsewhere.

RE: Where in the World is Dr. Zhivago?

Well, to actually get back to the true original topic, I have some questions for you, dear Doctor. I was just wondering, I know that your true nationality is a well- guarded secret, but I was curious as to whether or not the University with which you are affiliated is in your native country? Another query of mine is what exactly is your area of study? I'm assuming you're a woman because of your confusion about the preoccupation with mammary glands. Which reminds me, I take a bit of offense to some of your complaints about Americans;I am American, and I can assure you that I have no such obsession. Frankly, I am surprised that someone like yourself would be so quick to stereotype. Particularly someone who is familiar with one of my favorite American authors- are you a fan? However do you find time to read for pleasure between all of your expeditions? Forgive my questions, Doctor, but I'm quite curious about the entity that is Zhivago. And to those who would take offense to the ridiculous things said on this board, I say Erleichda!!

In response to my dear Maestra....I was born in America but I have been living in Canada and I have tenure at the University of Toronto. Switters is one of my favorite literary characters of all time. I have a Ph. D in Anthropology (hence my archaeological interests) and I am a male. I'm sorry to disappoint you.

RE: Where in the World is Dr. Zhivago?

Oh, doctor, your story is well constructed. I lack the time or energy into researching it too closely ( I did check out the University of Toronto website, but got bored pretty quickly), but I'm glad you have the sense to admit that you're American born, as your sentence construction and spelling indicate. Regardless, I'm fairly certain that you are full of the proverbial crap. I salute your skill as a masterful liar (perhaps your PhD is in Fallacy?) and I find you to be an intelligent and witty contributor to this forum. I thought you were a male all along, I just thought I'd offer a jab, because doctor or (more likely) not, I don't believe for a minute that you find the preoccupation with breasts the least bit confusing (unless of course your sexual tendencies are not towards the heterosexual persuasion?) But no, I'm pegging you as a 22-27 year old heterosexual male undergrad or grad student in America- (if I were pressed I'd say Northeastish- maybe New York or Boston, but that's a guess with no basis in evidence at all). I'm guessing you're of a larger than normal or smaller than normal stature- and either a thin and wiry or rather overweight bodytype. Quiet, you keep to yourself, and do a lot of reading. I'm not sure about your social situation, you're either a charismatic person who can talk with anyone, or (and I think this is more likely) a reserved person who has a few close friends, and mainly keeps quiet in social situations except to offer a few potent insights which your comrades don't hear half the time, and don't understand the other half. Perhaps you're a combination of the two. Are you married? Involved? I'm not sure about that part. I certainly hope you don't take offense to my hypothesizing, I mean no disrespect, we're all here in anonymity which allows us to create characters of any kind, but I find yours highly entertaining, and have enjoyed formulating my mental profile of you.

What happened to the potentially stimulating discourse? Shall we someday find out about the elusive Dr. Z. or has the mystery fizzled? I know you made mention of it, Dr. Z, but I am interested to learn more about the Mexican marijuana crop to which you referred in a past posting. What is your knowledge of crop situation across the border? Have you dabbled in the green?

RE: Where in the World is Dr. Zhivago?

Emphasis must be placed on the word 'potentially' when referring to the stimulating nature of discourse alluded to. In response to your cannabis query, one of Mexico's most lucrative exporting endeavors is the sale of marijuana on the world market. Strict regulations are imposed pertaining to who can venture into the proximity of these truly massive crops and they are very secretive about disclosing their locations. For the first few years I was consistently harassed everytime I visited the site at Oaxaca and my equipment was invariably confiscated. Only recently have they recognized our importance in reconstructing Mexican heritage and the Federales have remained generally amiable towards us...and no, I do not partake in narcotic-induced euphoria.

I would also like to mention that I have worked my entire life for my little piece of sheepskin. I am will undoubtedly disregard any post that questions my academic credentials.

Thank you for your prompt reply to my query. One has to wonder how a researcher of your stature indulges in non-academic respites between monumental finds; especially when you cross the border. As for your work as a PhD, is part of your latest research due to be published? What works have you published thus far? Also, what is the program and your exact role, in the eyes of the institution to which you belong? I, like others in this forum, am intrigued by your follies.

Oooops, I struck a nerve.... I have no doubt that you are toiling dilligently for your "little piece of sheepskin", Doctor, I'm simply dubious of your current educational status. That is not to say that I question your intelligence (notice that I continue to respectfully call you 'Doctor'), just your resumee.

RE: Where in the World is Dr. Zhivago?

I have already proved myself to the institution that I am affiliated with and those to which I have penultimately attented. I am also toiling under the sun day in and day out to the point where I find myself exhausted every night. At the moment, I am on lunch break so I cannot fully respond to your incessant questioning. I have published many articles in scholarly journals and have yet to publish a complete volume pertaining to my academic research. Perhaps in the near future I will recommend my work-in-progress to the avid readers of this fourm...when I am fully confident that it is satisfactory. I doubt that any of you will have the pre-historical background necessary to appreciate it.
