RE: Where in the World is Dr. Zhivago?

A forty Year old chou? ou plutôt une pomme, Monsieur. A much younger pomme! I also see that I've been pegged as an American- because I'm dumb? Or because I'm obsessed with breasts? I'm torn between amusement and offense (do I really look forty? Egad, I'll have to schedule a chemical peel or some such ridiculous procedure!). I prefer to err on the side of good humor, so I will have a good chuckle, and then assure you that your expertise does not extend into the arena of psychological profiling. You were correct about the crossword puzzles- I do enjoy them (although I prefer a good episode of Jeopardy or a game of Trivial Pursuit when appropriate opponents are available) and the reading, but incorrect about everything else. I may sound middle-aged, but I'm an old soul in a young vessel. As for your chosen topic, I'm afraid I'm not terribly enthusiastic, perhaps if you pose your topic in the form of an essay question, I can better prepare- a time limit may help too, as I always did perform best under pressure. Unfortunately I fear that my strategy of distracting my college professors with my circumlocutory verbosity and vocabular (i'm invoking my poetic liscense there; I need an adjective where I had a noun) acrobatics, which proved so successful in earning my BA in BS will not be as useful to me now, but I'm willing to give it a shot. Aurora, I'm intrigued- do you think you are personally acquainted with the Dr, or do you suspect that he is a public figure? I think he should be packing his things for spring break right about now- "Oaxaca or bust, man!" I'll meet you down there, Doc, just let me round up the grandkids!

RE: Where in the World is Dr. Zhivago?

FYI: I am on sabbatical this semseter so there is no need to take a 'spring break' in Russia. From what I can gather from Maestra's response, I have successfully pegged her as a woman old enough to bear children but not young enough to find a father. It's obvious that she is susceptible to irritability but I'm not quite certain why she is accumulating so much agression. I would hypothesize that she feels threatened by me because I am a male or that my life is tantalizing to her. There is nothing in my life that I haven't worked for and there's alwasy more that I'm working towards. I'm going to adhere to the little fraction of confidence that I still maintain for this forum to produce at least one stimulating post. BTW, I just love that old lady that won Jeopardy tonight...similar to my mental picture of Maestra.

RE: Where in the World is Dr. Zhivago?

I'm a little perplexed by your last post, Doc. Irritiability? I assure you I was not irritated at all; I was simply referring to how I would feel if someone mistook me in person for a woman of forty. Upon rereading, I think that perhaps I came off with a different tone than intended. I assure you I have no aggression towards you, and my closing comments were simply a nod to the fact that each of us has a mental image of the other that may (in my case) or may not (in your case) be accurate ;). ( you did state that I had no cigar- which I took to mean that I was close (but no cigar)) I'm actually rather amused my your image of me. I missed Jeopardy last night, are you now saying that I am an "old lady"? My moniker may be affecting your image of me. Would it make a difference if I referred to myself as Suzy, or Princess Leigh-Cherie, or Ellen Cherry Charles or Kudra? Since you think I may be reaching the age of no return, I'm curious as to what age you think qualifies as too old to "find a father". From what I can gather men and women of all ages are still playing the dating game. A curious comment, Doc, as my own parents and the parents of many of my friends are out there dating, many of whom are teetering on the ege of menopause. I would also assure you that I am not the least bit threatened by the fact that you are a male. What strange conclusions you jump to- I'm not even sure what you're basing them on. I can see how the beginning and possibly the end of my last post may have seemed hostile if not read as toungue-in-cheek, but as for the rest of it, I really would discourage you from any more psychoanalysis of strangers. I just don't think it's your forte. :) Henceforth I shall sprinkle a liberal amount of trite punctuation configurations throughout my postings lest anyone take me for irritable. When I am irritable, I shall make myself clear >:( Will that help? ;)

Hey Aurora, I appreciate the cronic bitching you post on this website, but I think that Mr.Zhivago can answer for himself. And doesn't need bats like you flying around answering questions for him. Hockey, by the way, is measured in goals, not standardized testing. Go home and watch your "Street Smarts" television and mind your own business.

And why in gods name are some people talking about "linguistic aerobatics" and "jepordy" on an unemployment website? Is there something wrong with you people? You all need to wake up a little, answer the stupid political question and either drop it or do something else.

Oh, I'm sorry, Honey, I didn't realize that we were restricted to commenting on the poll topic. If you don't like it, my dear, don't read it. In the meantime, if I have something to say to you I'll start with YO MATT and I'll make sure my message consists solely of monosyllabic words so as not to upset your precarious position just this side of literate. ya dig?
