And also sure, you must understand. Aurora's way of fighting an arguement doenst have anything to do with the topic. It has to do about the language. Because she cant form an arguement about the topic so she just goes off and babbles about the languages and what have you. Kinda cheap. I mean its allready ben established that the players in this debate have a pretty comprehensive understanding of the English language. I don't think that you should have to resort to dotting I's and crossing T's to get your point across. You may have wrote a lengthy explanation of your analogy. But without posting it. How the hell are we supposed to know that? Your analogy blatantly came across as comparing Colin powell with Hitler, that's all there is too it. And if the analogy was to advanced for people in this room to understand than you shouldn't have posted it. She isn't saying that the 2 people are anything alike, simply that her reasons for wanting to meet with each of them are similar. I'll put it in terms that are easier for you guys to understand. For example: I like to have sex and I like to do things for charity much for the same reasons: it makes me feel good. Working in a soup kitchen and having sex (with my boyfriend in the privacy of our own home, not in the soup kitchen... had to head perv off at the pass) are HARDLY the same thing. But my reasons for wanting to do them are similar. Aurora, let me know if I'm too far off base. I know it was a little broad, but still on target, I think. Sure, I know it's fun for you to poke fun at Aurora, but don't compromise your own intelligence to do so. It's not becoming. ;c) |
