RE: Great dessert chef, here we go..........

Fossilization is pretty rare actually. When you consider that during the times of dinosaurs they were probably as abundant as many animals now, putting them in the billions over the multiple eras they lived, and at best there are probably only in the tens of thousands of dinosaur fossils. So you are most likely looking at a .1 or .01% rate of death to fossilization. As for things that were probably used like Dragonscale armors and such, im sure over 1000 years they probably were destroyed, decayed, or discarded. There arent all that many suits of armor left considering that they used to have battles of thousands of armored men in every european area. The biggest problem with the written records are that in that era many people were idiots and would tell tales of things they saw but they remembered it different. such as thier tendancy to give human characteristics to anything they saw (see a squid, they think it was a sea man with a thousand arms...crap like that) so many other actual accounts of oddities were discarded as tall tales. And as far as records from that time era on any subject, there really arent that many on any subject. Royalty was about the only class that could afford to have stuff written (few people had the knowledge and materials to write, usually monks) Plus, it was most likely somewhat commonplace, did people talk about elephants? No biggie. There were some records such as one of Ceasars batallions being destroyed by a single dragon. And as i said its listed in the bible too.

Goddamn BabaKage I hope you're trolling. Or otherwise playing devil's advocate. If not, self mutilation's a fun game to play. OK, I'm sorry. I don't mean to be mean. But really. Unprovability is rampant and faith is limited. No reason to stretch the limits of faith. Here are some words and phrases to consider.

REASON
REASONABLE
WITHIN REASON
ACCEPTABLE LIMITS

Same to you, Dragonmaster. I appreciate how you put your innermost craziness out here, but proof is proof. And you have none. There are literally an INFINITE number of creatures and figments that we might want to believe in because THEIR existence might make OUR existence more meaningful or easier. And that is faith. But nothing will make those things true, or false for that matter. Hence the meaning of the word faith.

Allright, youve earned some respect in my book. Its good to have another realist came to the board. I mean its cool to think about dragons and what have you. "fantisise", but to try to prove that they actually existed is bogus.

I mean with all the information we have, Its hard to beleve that we would just miss a 80 foot creature that soars through the air and spits magical fire. Do either of you beleve in god? Just curious.

Fossilization is extremly ra........oh, ok. Thanks BakaKage :-]

"INFINITE number of creatures". Well I don't know about infinate, but a lot.

Science has accepted that there where a LOT more types of animals before we humans stood up. The idea of dragons is an accepted one but for one thing, the arms. Creatures with wings normaly don't have any other arms. Of course there usualy arent mamles that lay eggs or have bills either.

Yes, I do belive in God. But you also have to look at the Bible as a book that was translated by a King with an agenda. There were four books cut out of the King James version of the Bible.
There is just to much going on here for backteria to grow into what we have today. If it were so easy then there would be other inteligent beings here to.

Late for work...........

Sorry DM, I'm going with Molly, and Dave. Dave is right its good to have another realist. Any ways I have to disagree with you DM, and who says other life is not intelligent? intelligence is subject to perspective, what is unintelligent to you does not exactly mean it is in actuality unintelligent. Also bacteria, will mutate into whatever is suitable to the environment, variation depends on the environment. BakaKage, you crack me up, come on? your comment was irrational.

How is it irational? Do some research before you post. Only the close minded refuse to see what is right if front of them.

This argument is like thousands of others. You have to see it for it to be real. Even then you don't want to believe. The only thing short of a Dragon showing up is going to convince you people. Even if dragon remains were found, people would argue that it was a fake. I'm sitting here drinking a Code-red out of my bee positive/have faith mug and thinking that thats what the world needs now.

What the world needs now..

What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It's the only thing that there's just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love,
No not just for some but for everyone.

DM, we don't need another creature,
There is Santa and the Easter bunny enough to believe,
There is God and the Devil enough to fear,
Enough to last till the end of time.

What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It's the only thing that there's just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love,
No, not just for some but for everyone.

It's not another creature. It was already here.

If you belive in god you don't have to fear the devil. He can kiss my ass. See?

I have two types of Picachu. Stuffed and videogame. But seeing as he only has been around in the last ten years, or had any sightings from any sane people, you cant realy think of him as an animal. Just either a ball of stuffing or a few pixles.

RE: Great dessert chef, here we go..........

Actually DM, i think in cases like Daves, even seeing a dragon come up to his face wouldn't be enough for him to believe. Would say its an illusion or some parlor trick. He could feel it, and say it was a big lizard with fake appendages attached. If it breathed fire, he would say its a machine. Some people will never believe. Granted, if i had a dragon come up to me i would doubt it too, but im pretty damn sure they have existed. Its not like its a far cry from some of the animals that already exist. A big lizard, nothing new. Flying? Im not sure whether they did fly or not. Firebreathing? Blister beetles create 2 seperate chemicals in chambers within thier abdomen, and when endangered they can mix the chemicals at the tip of their...for lack of better words...ass...and it instantly rushes to a boil and sprays out to severely burn its prey anywhere it makes contact. So the thought of a dragon having a chemical/s created in glands within its throat isn't that unfeasible. There are already a number of natural chemicals that can ignite when exposed to oxygen. There isn't all that much thats so hard to believe in dragons. No i do not believe in unicorns. no i do not believe in fairies (aside from those that march down the streets of San Fransico during parades) Yes i believe in God. But what is so hard to believe about dragons?
