Still Stutter...

I have stutter since the first day, the game is playable and enjoyable, but with little stutters every turn of a corner, and with all the patches and fixes, i dont notice any variation in this issue.

I was triying the PCI Latency tool, for some days, but i probe that dont have any real effect with my HL2 and other games, then i return to the default configuration.

Lowering the video resolution and configuration, and the sound quality, dont fix anything, the stutter is still there.

My machine specs:

Pentium 4 2.4g Northwood
MOBO MSI 645 Ultra.
Power Supply Antec 400watts
RAM Kingston DDR 2700 512 mb
HD WD 7200 80g
VIDEO ATI build Radeon 9600XT 128mb
Sound: Audigy 2zs
ADSL 512kbs

Results probably skewed

Since this poll has now been posted on http://www.blep.net/hl2stutter/ the results will likely show a higher percentage of stuttering because why would you still be looking at blep.net if you didn't have the stutter.

nVidia / ATI

Quite a few people have mentioned stuttering problems, despite ATI cards. This is the world-famous stuttering site: http://www.blep.net/hl2stutter/

An experiment..

Following an attempt by a certain Steam Forums user to prove an argument that a significant percentage of HL2 players are suffering from stuttering, I've created this poll to test the water and see just how many people really are. Said user provided a poll which required registration, on a forum which among other things provides tech support for game problems (just as the Steam forums do). It's natural that those suffering game problems would flock to these forums while those with a trouble-free gaming experience are likely not to bother. It's also not especially likely that those of us not suffering gaming problems would bother going through the process of registering for yet another site that we won't use that may or may not sell our details to spammers.

This poll is free for all to vote in. It has the usual basic mechanisms against duplicate voting but some people will no doubt attempt to bypass them. I would suggest that if both sides of the argument plan on doing that, that they do so in equal numbers, so as not to scew the result ;)

TB.
