RE: Bug

The only people buying that crap are other dorks looking to collect it. Since there is no shortage of star wars dorks, there will be no shortage of star wars dork figures. They will not be making money like that anywhere. Nice way to try and make your dorkiness not so dorky. It's an investment, yea that is why I am spending my paycheck on toys.

RE: Bug

how are you gonna make money from BK toys... those went out in the millions and were poorly made. Hardly rates as collectable.

RE: Bug

I am not a Star Wars dork but a Star Wars tragic. I have been to the midnight viewing of episodes 1 & 2 which was actually really good. I dont think George Lucas has sold out, infact he seems to think these movies (1,2 & 3) are more the movies he always wanted to make but couldnt in the 70's because of technology.

I remember the part in E2 when Obiwan kenobi is being chased by Jango Fett through the asteroids and you see the explosion and then a second later the bang of the sound.....It was brilliant.

George Lucas Rules

PS I must concede one thing though, Jar Jar Binks suc

ked massively and totally and completely, I hope in E3 he gets killed in a slow and painfull way, like they cut off his stupid periscope eys. (He's not real so I suppose I am not breaking the no-death-threats rule of OT - right?)

PPS As soon as I get home from the midnight screening I am going to post the biggest spoiler right here!!!!!! (I am in Australia and will see it 12 hours or so before it starts in the States)

RE: Bug

the ONLY star wars collectables that are worth anything are from the ORIGINAL releases. Not the re-released toys from the 90s. 1985 and prior are the only ones worth crap because at that point people didn't realize just how big the movies would make it over time. If you had say, a mail order only Emperors Flagship, NRFB (never removed from box) you could possibly fetch 1-5k from a collector. Back when they came out Sears had a lot of mail-order only toys that you had to collect points off the store buyables. mail-order items from 20 years ago are rare enough to be worth quite a bit. my bro had his fair share (but not in boxes) because we lived in Saudi Arabia at the time so mail-order was no big deal. (dad worked for american military in saudi) Even not in boxes some of those can get $50+ from a collector.

DM if you think you will sell off the crap from current movies for big money, you are smoking some heavy crack. Its like Comic books. Superman #1 is worth a crapload of cash because there arent that many left, people didn't realize it would be a big hit. But if you have superman issue 150 its worth at most like $10 (i dont know the exact #s of issues, i got the one from when superman got killed, but it was so popular at the time its not worth that much now)

RE: Bug

First of all, collecting Star wars toys does not make you are dork, unless you’re like thirty and collecting them, but even then you’re not a dork, you just have problems. Second of all I use have star wars toys when I was kid. I don't anymore though

What will really have value

I'm sure there will be some idiot a year from now who will pay a huge amount of money on some burgerking starwars crap. This however, is not because it will be hard to find, it will be because this person is an idiot. If enough people can find idiots to buy this stuff at high prices, then they actually will become valuable, but probably hard to sell because any sensible person wouldnt spend a huge sum of money on anything from burgerking.

I collected beanie babys when I was younger (anyone else here do that? I think i'm a generation younger than most of you guys.) Right now, I could probably sell them for half the value I bought them for... but one day... one day I hope they will become collectors items... either that or I'll just find an idiot willing to buy all 754 of them from me at a good price (yes I know, that's really sad that I have that many.) Even if I could find someone willing to pay $15-per-beanie I'd be as happy as a clam.

Thats a lot of how value of things increases and becomes what it is... how much you can get an idiot to buy it for :-p

RE: Bug

The spongebobs were actually being stolen nationwide. Which confused the hell out of everyone because of thier size they should take a minumum of 5 minutes to deflate and then they are still heavy. And no one noticed. Honestly tho, who wants a 9 foot tall inflateable spongebob?

RE: Bug

Ok, we've been over the licenced store thing already, but briefly it goes like this, HMShost bought the name and the products for a certain amount of time, we don't have the extras nor are we paid by BK. I am an employee of HMShost, the travel plaza I work in also has a Starbucks, TCBY, Sbaro's (SP) and a Tudors Biscuit world. I am trained to work all of them if need be (not at the same time of course) I normaly work BK, used to be Starbucks, but in bad weather or if someone calls in sick I have to go work the others. We don't get the games like a normal BK, like the scratch cards, nor are we alowed to put out anything relating to the game, like the cutouts or the window clings. Even though we still get them, we just get to take them home.

I don't care how crapy it's made. Someone will buy it some time later.

Jar Jar binks does suck.

OK, so I bought 30 at 1 buck a peice, they are already selling for 20 on e-bay. Give it time and the price will go up when BK stops having them.

BTW, I have the three origional movie posters in their origonal cardboard. (something I took from the theater on my last day) And a whole box of toys of starwars stuff.
