RE: Bug

Joe - sorry to see you've become a victim of a copycat. We've all been there. I think that people that collect Star Wars stuff are kinda dorky. I used to have all the stuff when I was a kid, but that was to use to play with, not to keep in a box and marvel at.

Black cabbage - I can figure what a custom sword is. You forget, I'm smart, you're stupid. I'm educated, you're not. If a blacksmith can make $1000-$3000 dollars for 2-3 days of work, I'm in the wrong damn field. I think you may be exaggerating slightly. Or perhaps you are simply extrapolating to $10k without understanding how much of the cost is material cost. Steel is expensive. Either way, you're an idiot and you don't have a clue what you're talking about. Go to college and get an education.

Jamesmaster - Anyone who pays $20 for a burger king toy is an idiot. Also, you're fat.

GirlUWant - Brady bunch? Who's the real dork here?

Adam - Just go get high and take a dump.

Dr. Phil - Where'd you go? Do you know anything about modern day blacksmiths making custom swords.

RE: Bug

you are smart and im stupid? Sure. I got a college degree already. Folded steel swords do cost multiple thousands depending on how many times they fold the blade. 10 folds is cheaper and easier to make but much less durable than a 20 or higher folded blade. The reason its so damn expensive is because few people can do it properly. Add in the conditions of the job, the blast furnace keeping you in heat (i worked at a place with a 40 foot tall oven used to cook the materials for circuit boards and being within 20 feet of that was around 120 degrees and it was no where near as hot as a blast furnace) also you have to be abnormally strong to use a heavy hammer with great force and accuracy thousands of times over. then the simple fact of experience in doing it provides for better workmanship. if someone read from a book (ya know, be educated like you) they couldn't make even a 2nd rate sword. A good blade comes from guys who have been doing it for years and perfected the practice, knowing the time to keep it in the furnace, the heat it needs, the best method for folding, etc...that cant be told by just any book no matter how it sounds. If you look on the internet to find swords, you will find some crappy drop-forged blades for almost $1k retail. There is a high markup on that granted but still, a drop forged blade takes 1/100th the effort of a folded steel.

RE: Bug

Black cabbage:

What do you use a sword for anyway? Going into battle anytime soon? I'll take an M-16 or an AK-47. You bring your broadsword.

I'm glad you have a vast knowledge of swords. You'll die a virgin.

Were you the kid always picked last in gym?

RE: Bug

Dole, you did inhale didn't you? Short memory, most of my posts admit i got beat up in school. i was the fat kid picked last (or they would get rid of another person say teams were uneven so they wouldn't have to play with me) Yes i am going to die a virgin, no arguement there. The thing about swords vs guns is ammunition. Lets say war happened in the US. Groups of guys swarming the streets and you cant go back to the store to buy more ammo. What happens when you run out? Just beat them with your gun thats about it. unless you have good knife skills and start pulling navy seal crap and hacking them all up. non-consumed weapons have a natural advantage. Get a compound bow or crossbow with metal bolts. Just rip it out of the guys dead body and if its not bent, re-use it.

There is only room for one troll in this forum and I was here first. Go find some other forum to cause trouble in. AB is also a bad troll name.

RE: Bug

Your better off with internet porn and masturbating than getting with a hooker, go for the real thing when you are with someone you like.

RE: Bug

Dole there are many people in the world who have a good education, a degree, and even a high paying job with good salary who are still idiots. Your use of "get an education," really falls short when the person has an education and is still stupid.

RE: Bug

For example. Look at our presidents and wanna-be presidents (bob dole for example) who have high dollar college educations and are still total morons. From my experience, the higher your degree in college, the less real knowledge you have. People with Ph.Ds often are so socially inept they can hardly hold a normal conversation. All the book smarts on earth wont help you one bit in everyday life.
