RE: cuppajane

Cuppa - sorry you came out here to silicon valley just to be unemployed - but you should've known better, this is ground zero of the dot com bubble burst.

by the way, why do chicks love toblerone?

RE: cuppajane

Just curious - what has it done to your real estate market?

I remember when the oil industry crapped out in Oklahoma in the early eighties and then the whole savings and loan stuff...Tulsa and Oklahoma City were hit pretty hard.

I like Toblerone because of the crunchy bits in the smooth creamy chocolate. It is just really nice quality chocolate.

I hate gross chocolate like that Palmer's shit, that is waxy, like I'm not wasting calories on that!

adam - it seems like if you read a book and it had serial killers in it, you would remember that, don't you think?

RE: cuppajane

i read alot of stephen king and dean koontz so alot of them have killing...koontz had a few that were really good about serial killers...this doctor guy kills people and keeps there eyes cos hes obsessed with tears....that book was called False Memory...my favorite of his so far

i just got done reading one called guilty as sin by some stupid woman....it was pretty much a law and order show put into a book and made extremely long...but it was ok

RE: cuppajane

no adam, there's a real serial killer who was infatuated and likened himself to holden caufield. (dude who shot lenon? i just can't recall...)

i had a pretty strong feeling that silicon valley was gonna be lame on the job front for me. it's certainly a geek paradise. i was at this party with my bf and they were all computer this some language that blah blah and so when i found a break in the conversation i said, "and this relates to star trek how?" they shot me the evil eye :)

I'm with you Girl, never waste calories on crap. On ocassion I'll make this flourless chocolate torte (less carbs, right? whatever) and one piece will send you into sin...mmmmmm. Toblerone is rad because you can take a triangle and be happy and there's a bunch left

That's funny that you mentioned your southern accent comming out when you drink. I Grew up in Boston and rarley talk with an accent except when i start drinking, i lose my R's all togetha. Does that happen to anyone else? Getting an accent when you drink?

RE: cuppajane

there's talk that the real estate market here is gonna burst...I'd have to see it to believe it though. It's a sellers market for sure, if one were to house hunt, they'd be lucky to find something they want want, it's all about settling for here. Like the house we live in (2/1 and about 1300sf) on a postage stamp and has nothing fancy (not even a dishwasher cept for me) is a steal at around 600k.

RE: cuppajane

Syrgot aren't you like 18? What do you know about drinking?

I was watching Bulls and Bears last weekend on Fox News Channel and they were talknig about the real estate bubble. This one old dude said "You look at how high the prices are: Los Angles, New York, Tampa, St. Pete. It's not going to last." I was thinking, what in the hell? I live in Tampa and prices are way up here but I've never heard of the Tampa/St. Pete area being in the same league with LA and NYC.

All I know is I got a good deal on my house.

I know that when I was just finishing high school I had only been drunk a handful of times. The first time I got drunk I had 6 beers and I was blasted.

RE: cuppajane

The real estate market is holding steady here, I think. If that bursts we're all in deep sh*t. Sucks that my rent is so high though ($900 for a small studio).

RE: cuppajane

What you need is some more people to move in with you. Rent is really cheap when you divide it by 4 or 5 families.
