RE: THE REAL THEORY

All this textbook logic, all these explanations, and still, NO ONE has come up with WHERE “God” came from. I don't care if you CAN prove he exists. Prove to me HOW he came to be. I don’t think there’s one tangible explanation out there for WHERE he came from.

RE: THE REAL THEORY

Everyone who is trying to prove that there is a god is missing the biggest point, where and how did he get here?

I also dont care if you try to prove that god exists, thats a matter of belief, and i dont believe that he does exist.

Will some one please explain, in a logical way that might be halfway beleivable, how did god get here, and where did he come from?

RE: THE REAL THEORY

BlueNite-

you said:

suzsuzie :"in the Bible it says that God was, is, and always will be. it's a hard consept to graspt. but it's the truth."

That doesn't explain to me HOW he "was, is, and always will be,” or WHERE he came from. There isn't any explanation in that concept.

you are not grasping the concept. God has no beginning, no end. God did not come from somewhere tangible, God is not tangible. there is no "how" or "where" when it comes to God. HE JUST IS. the fact that you don't believe is why you cannot wrap your mind around the concept. do you know how long 100 million years is? do you believe the universe has been around that long? how do we know? how does anyone know anything? this is why they are called "beliefs." i BELIEVE in God, i BELIEVE in Christ, i BELIEVE in evolution. i am not egocentric enough to believe we could ever come this far on our own, but i also know there is much too much proof of other forces at work than just God. God is whatever you make him in your heart. the beauty of God is that we don't all have to BELIEVE the same thing in order for Him to impact your life.

and if God is nonexistent for you, wonderful. He made us so that we could make our own decisions. it's all a proving ground for future lives, including an afterlife. there's got to be more than this. if i need to believe that in order to drag my ass out of bed in the morning, don't tread on my beliefs. if you cannot accept that there is a possibility of a higher power then you have reaffirmed my belief that the world is not a place i want to bring children into.

RE: THE REAL THEORY

Tangible: Possible to be treated as fact; real or concrete: tangible evidence.

You admit that god cannot be treated as fact, real, or concrete. You admit he does not exist.

That’s fine with me. I just wanted someone to admit it. I’m not poo-pooing anyone’s faith. I just wanted a religious person to admit that they really don’t have any proof of his existence accept what they choose to believe.

Faith: Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence.
Fact: Knowledge or information based on real occurrences.

Please don’t push your faith on me as facts.

RE: THE REAL THEORY

I never stated what I do or do not believe. I never tried to push my beliefs on anyone else. I simply asked for an explination, and I FINALLY got one.

RE: THE REAL THEORY

God started out just as we did, but he had super goddey powers. God created man in his own image, so he made lots of little teeney weeney organisms to roam around the earth. Then evolution took over. When it was time for God to send down his son, he couldn't very well send down a little tiney cell. No one would see him, let alone hear him or follow him. So he sent Jesus down as man.

RE: THE REAL THEORY

Blue-

"You admit that god cannot be treated as fact, real, or concrete. You admit he does not exist."

you are really great at taking other people's words and turning them around to suit your purpose. can you see air? is it tangible? does it exist? how about explaining to me what space is? is space tangible? does it therefore not exist?

i did NOT admit that i don't have proof of God's existence. not being able to prove that something does exist is not the same as saying something does NOT exist. it would be nice if it worked that way, but there are shades of grey.

I'm not an exceptionally religious person, but i do believe there's got to be a higher power. we all have a right to express our opinion, but your arrogance really ****es me off. you argue for the sake of arguing. get this- it's not really fun for everyone!

RE: THE REAL THEORY

If you don't like to argue with me, then why do you keep replying to me?

We know air exists because there is tangible proof of its existence. The same thing goes for space.

There is no tangible proof of God's existence. There are theories, clues, hints of MAYBE his existence, but nothing tangible.

Believe it or not, I was trying to have a reasonable discussion about all this. I'm sorry I came off as arrogant. I just wanted to try to find some answers, or rather, see if anyone out there had any to offer up. As I said before, I’m not trying to poo-poo ANYONE’S religion. I just wanted to probe at the gray areas to see what reaction I’d get. No need to get ****ey. I’ll withdraw from this discussion if I’ve offended you so.

But do think about my questions and form your own answers, instead of regurgitating everything the reverend says in church. That’s what irritates me the most about religion; people give up their right to think for themselves.

The Man To Listen To

Honestly, everybody should listen to George Carlin speak about religion. He really knows what he's talking about.

Are you God-believers telling me you still believe in Santa Clause or the Easter Bunny? Give me a break here. It's not any different. "We have no proof or reason to believe this exists but it's a nice story so I'll buy into it." Just like the tooth fairy coming under your pillow and leaving you a quarter.

God is a fantasy. Is there something possibly at a higher existence or consciousness? That I can accept, not out of faith or creation-justification, but out of a vain hope that there is SOMETHING in this world with a greater intelligence than every little pussbrain down here.

RE: THE REAL THEORY

yes george carlin is the answer....
i said something like.

"eathquakes, fires, plagues, famine, death, destruction, war, and poverty.....
these things do not go well on a superbeings resume. this kinda stuff is on an office temp with a bad additudes resume.

if this is the best he can do I am not inprest."

he said something like that.

please excuse the bad spelling...I've evolved beyond spelling

"God started out just as we did, but he had super goddey powers. God created man in his own image, so he made lots of little teeney weeney organisms to roam around the earth"

It's good and all if you believe this, but who's image was 'God' created in? You said he was created the same as us, and then you said we were created in his image. So......uh....yeah.

On a side note. You walk down a path to a fork in the road. You can choose to go right or left. If i choose right, then I do so. There is no supernatural thing about it. That's life, making choices.

Also, maybe there is some higher being, and why in the world would it take interest in us?

RE: THE REAL THEORY

Bits and parts from the universe started to form together to make different chemical compounds. Then those little particles of the universe formed the first life form: God! God is, has, and always will be a little tiny cell, a bit of bacteria, a little tiny thing. It just so happens that the chemical make up of god made super goddey powers as well. But God quickly got lonely so he created more of himself (I.E. us in his own image).

As to where the universe came from, or how the little chemical bits of stuff that formed god came to be, I have no clue. But as we’ve seen here in this thread, my theory isn’t the only one that’s flawed.

RE: THE REAL THEORY

And I thought MY posts were ****y & long-winded. Let this thread die already, geesh.

You believe in God, he doesn't, they do, some don't, we might, those over there are starting to. It's all a matter of ideas. Some insist they're right, yet NOONE can prove anything one way or the other. OddTodd is NOT the place to actually feel you're having a relevant or meaningful debate about any of it though.

Dayum.
I can't believe I miss the mindless ****ings me & yo throw at each other after reading this mound of "I'm right, you're wrong, No I'm right, you're wrong" crap.

We all have theories, noone has concrete answers. Noone should be saying their way is the ablosult truth. ou can deny god all you want, but does it give you an answer?...no. You can embrace God all you want, can you be certain?...no. (don't come at me with the "faith" crap either)

And if you ARE so morally correct & christian. What are you doing here at OddTodd where boobs in the face is considered heaven-sent? Won't you burn for it????

There's my long-winded 2 pennies.
