RE: THE REAL THEORY

first of all, every culture has it's own theory about existence, and most are completely different to the nexts. Beliving our "God" is the only one that is possible, and treating it like it actually happend (eg. talking about Jesus' wang) is completely closed minded. It is logical that every concious being comes up with their own collective theory of creation and it is also logical that they are all wrong. If there is, in fact, something powerful enough to be controlling the entire univerese then there is no way a race like ours would ever be able to discover it or be able to comprehend it. One thing every cultures religons have in common is the way they all feature a way of dealing with death and comprehending the complexities of the univerese , these can be seen in Western culture with the creation of heaven, and the belife that we dont have to worry about the grand scheme of things because God is going to take care of it all. Eastern soccieties, on the other hand, belive that this is just one plain of existence and that your only purpose in life is to die in the best way possible, so you can succesfully move onto the next plain.

Humans are insecure, religion is our answer.

When you look into the Scheme of things, you see there is no scheme, just nothingness.

RE: THE REAL THEORY

Religion is no ANSWER. It's just a method of controlling the masses of people that became societies after the agricultural revolution. If you fear the afterlife, you'll be more obedient in your actual LIFE. It's a tool of ancient historical societies governments that never died.

Read my Book, "Ishmael" for further explanation.

RE: THE REAL THEORY

There is no proof that God exists. At least, there is no proof that you can demonstrate to another person concretely. But i think to each person who believes in Christ, God proves it to that person individually in such a way that they know, and no one else knows, so it is always a matter of faith. Don't know why.

RE: THE REAL THEORY

Ok, here is my couple cents worth:
I must say that it's quite interesting that people so readily believe anything. I am the type of person, like many posters, to question: who is "God" and where did he come from, what backs evolution, etc. It seems like people are so ready to believe Jesus, who simply said his theory on life that people caught on to. I mean, how is that different from Hawkin stating his idea and others reading his books and believing them? But, as one person said in defense of religion, science is always proving itself wrong. How is what Jesus said not just the science of the time, proven wrong by evolution, furthered by by the Big Bang, and even developed more by the string theory and other modern thoughts? I personally am on the side of science, as it has given the best explanation: Why the heck would a God put hydrogen in the universe? Why make stuff up of atoms? Why have primitive human-like bones on the planet? Why have dinosaur bones on the planet? Why make everything so complex? I just can't find the answers from something supernatural.
Well, that's it. I sincerely apolagize if I offended anybody.

RE: THE REAL THEORY

Well Mark, all those science things you point out such as artifacts & old bones. Are just the devil's ways of attempting to decieve man. HE put them there just as God put us here.

(please note the sarcasm & enjoy the laugh before making an argument of this)

Seriously though, that is the response many christian's will give when confronted with Artifacts such as fossils.

RE: THE REAL THEORY

Okay, so assuming the devil put the dino bones out there to tempt us, etc. instead of evolution occurring:

Why is it that a one-celled organism has the exact same (anaerobic) metabolic cycle, chemically, as the multicelled organism's? Obviously, the multicellular organism has a more complexed system, but upon examination, it's really just extra steps (i.e. the aerobic processes)added to the existing anaerobic part.

Anyways, my point is: science has come up with hard facts based on tests that have been run over and over again with the same results. Creationism simply relies on faith. Personally, I kind of feel stuck in between. I mean, I go to church because I always have, but after taking so many science classes in college and learning about the different processes and how they relate to the timeline of earth and when organisms started appearing in the geologic record, I kind of have to lean towards the science side, because it makes more sense logically.

I have a hard time believing that everything appeared at the same time--roughly--and that nothing evolved (i.e. creationism), when we now have DNA sequencing that shows how closely related we are to other organisms. Is it really a coincidence?

The creationists say, "Yes!" The scientists say, "NO!" In the end, people will believe what they want to believe, and no amount of scientific evidence will change their opinion if they're unwilling to be open to new ideas.

Thank you.
(steps off of soapbox)

RE: THE REAL THEORY

ok i'm gonna answer some questions
-God was always here... he's the begginin and the end
- althought the bible was written by man, it says that it is God breathed ok? see God worked through some ppl to create it. God's so big he probably couldn't hold the pencil or sumthin.
-i learned this recently: the possibility of Jesus fufilling all theese prophecys about him is like 1 in alot/ in fact if you took some girlscout thin mint cookies and covered the state of TX with them, licked the chocolate off one and threw it somewhere in texas then walked the entire length of the state blindfolded and picked one up it is more likely that it was teh cookie without the chocolate than Jesus fufillin the prophecies. And Jesus did theese thing before the scripture was even found!
Ya see?
If u like have any questions pleez email me at cherrycoke_is_good029@yahoo.com and we'll talk.

RE: THE REAL THEORY

if you wanna know what i think i have a seperat post that explains it.

but i'm here cuz some people **** me off by making science sound to much like religion. the difference between the two is that religion is compiled of set beliefs, so they're not gonna change. science on the other hand is compiled of a bunch of ideas and thoughts organised into theriories and based on logic or other therories, and if you can come up with a thereory that makes more sense than the ones that are currently accepted insted of being called a heritic and being burned alive you get an award and a bunch of respect from people.

so please don't treat it like every scientists believes the same thing because they don't, i know that "it's a hard concept to grasp" if you're religios but ignorance is never and excuse to anything
