RE: Let's put the record straight

Wow Nick!
That last reply of yours is so unbelievably stupid it is not worth a reply and is not getting one.

Have you any idea at all how daft it is?

You even think I am "illogical" when I make one final statement and say all 8 points on my main page are my belief, instead of repeating it 8 times!

I give up. As I have said many times you do not have enough sense to argue with.

Run along and ask your mum if its okay for you to play with your TK toys in your play pen.

Goodbye looser.

RE: RE: Let's put the record straight

Keith is right Nick.
You said, a couple of postings back, that as long as it was not stated as a fact, but only an opinion or belief, then it was okay to say a thing did not exist that had not been proven to exist.
Why deny you said it, we can all read?
So on that basis Keith is perfectly correct when he says that TK does not exist.
He does not say it is a fact, but says it is his belief.
Therefore you clearly lose your argument when you claim Keith was illogical. His statement meets all your requirements!
You have, as Keith pointed out, contradicted yourself.
I think you walked straight into that one, as Keith knew you would.
You may as well admit your error, we can all see how silly your argument is given that you have talked yourself round in a full circle.
Stop being a fool and admit your error, because to continue to deny it only adds to your stupidity.
Keith, your argument is brilliant!
Well done!

Of course, we really weren't talking about your main page to begin with, but your statement in your second post on this thread. Your deterrence to the main page suggests that all you want to do is run to an argument where you think you can still win.

Of course I'm not saying that you should repeat yourself 8 times. What I'm saying is that when you say:

>However, that is just my belief, you will have
>yours.

you are talking about your belief in TK, not about your points. The thing which implicates this is that the rest of the 8 are facts, and the first one, you are saying now, is a belief.

If the other 7 are facts, and the first on is a belief, then you wouldn't have to repeat yourself at all, Keith.

Go to the nearest software store and pick up yourself a copy of "World of Warcraft" and get lost in another fantasy world.

RE: Let's put the record straight

Nick, Nick, Nick.... Why argue this point any more when it is clear you simply can not keep up. This whole argument (at least your side of it) has lost any validity. Not that it really had any to start with!!!
I like what Zack said, get a copy of WOW and get lost in another fantasy world! Great game by the way!

RE: Let's put the record straight

It is fact that you can shoot fireballs in WOW (well, the pixels on your screen just turn orange, not really a fireball). But in real life, we just do not have enough information to back it up.

a=b+c

IF you were asked what c equaled (and we are talking about a 10-base number system) you could not state that it was any number because there is not enough information.

2=b+c

You cannot state for a fact that b OR c must equal 1. b could equal .25 and c could equal 1.75.

If you are well versed in algebra, which is a requirement in late elementary and early junior high. You would see the relationship between the quibble between Nick and Keith and the simple unanswerable equation. You can say c = 1, and b = 1. But that is just heirsay, you cannot know for a complete fact what those variables hold. Someone could debate forever trying to deterimin what that number is.

Telekinesis could exist but we truely do not know. So we can not state a fact that it does not exist nor it does exist. However, we can base it on the facts of the laws (made by scientists) that probability is in considerable favor of the ability not possible. So in context of a person's perceptional views on the debate on if telekinesis is real or not; if you haven't seen it happen, then how is that one going to know that it is real?

I think that is my 6th time saying that in 6 different ways.

I hear Matrix Online is pretty good too. Haven't tried it. I'm too busy with college to play too much (which is required for those mmorpg's).

RE: Let's put the record straight

Half-Baked-Theory I have about the psi wheel and the other deely.

Consider the brain. It has a clump of cells inside that scientists have recently discovered. They refer these cells as the mirror cells. They tested a theory on the monkey. When his arm moved, the clump of cells fired off a signal. When someone else did the same movement (arm moved), those clump of cells fired the same exact way. When the monkey moved differently, the cells fired differently than when he moved his arm.

Scientists believe that these cells are what make animals able to learn and become interested in 'life'. Because it sees other people do things, and learns those things because of these mirror cells.

Scientists learned that these mirror cells will mimic the movement of that person. Meaning, the brain will actually do those movements without having the host body performing them.

The scientists ruled that there may be a possibility of mind reading involved with the mirror cells. Perhaps the unknown brain has functions that come equivalent to phenomena actions? Some scientists say if we lived longer than our normal 65 year average lifespan (for males), those functions could become enabled. Consider only 15% of the brain is being used in your entire short life time.

Anyway, back to the psi wheel. Consider if a human watched the Psi Wheel work. Regardless if TK was involved or the static electricity. If that brain fired off when the wheel turned. The brain convinced that it was the reason why it turned. Maybe perhaps the brain will take the knowledge and the confidence it now has in the new found power. Maybe it will then learn how to do the actual power, based on the fake deely. Maybe that is why it is an exercise to learn real TK?

That is how people learned how to walk and talk. From a baby, they looked up and saw their counterparts walking on their legs. Their inspiration; that clump of cells continuing to fire, learning and performing the methods before actually doing it physically.

But, that is a long shot. It is just a theory. Notice Nick that I did not state that it is a fact, it is just a thought, a slim possibility. I am just sharing my ideas with you. I do not want you to actually think its a for real thing. I know how you like to hear things that sound good and then turn it into something that must be true.

RE: Let's put the record straight

Oh dear Nick.
You have so lost the plot!
Like I said before, just give it up, because the harder you try to wriggle out of admitting how wrong you are and how stupid your argument is, the worse you get.

Your last comment is priceless, and demonstrates my point to perfection, because it shows how you keep denying and contradicting yourself.

Just give up Nick, because you really are looking a right moron.

Nick’s quote......”Of course, we really weren't talking about your main page to begin with...”

Really? Take a look at this then.

This is the opening line on this thread.....
“Nick, this is for you.
You keep referring to my main page where I originally said 'The two main TK stunts are not TK"
You argued that my logic was wrong.
I argued that it wasn't.”

I would say that was about my main page.
What do you think its about?

How wrong is it possible to get Nick?????
You set new standards of stupidity with every post you make.

RE: Let's put the record straight

Wow... this thread was a massive read o.O
However it was fairly enlightening.

Zack:
You've got a good head on you ;)
I really enjoyed your posts - as long as they are.

Nick:
Sorry to say, but you've been owned this time. Either you can't see it or refuse to. If it's the latter, then I invite you to question why :)
If the former ... then I'm gobsmacked.

My summary of it: Keith's opinion is that TK does not exist. He can state that as often and however he likes. It's still only his opinion.

About the logical fallacy: the difference here is that to Keith the possibility of TK is miniscule - for good reason.
This leaves him the opinion that it doesn't exist - also for good reason.
Nowhere does he claim it as fact that it does not, but the weight of evidence lies on the negative.

This does not mean that you don't have TK. It means he has no reason to take your word for it. (Just like your Sally example)

Keith:
As usual you're a cruel man in an argument :)

PS: I'm playing a lot of World of Warcraft myself lately. It's too bloody addictive :/ .. evil game! evil! :P

RE: Let's put the record straight

Everyone

So many unanswered questions. We can live life the way it is. But I always ask myself. Why not try? Nothing else to do! People play WoW because of the altered reality WoW is perceived to them. So why not try to learn the secrets of life? It is fun. A regular ole Fox Moulder.

The other thing we can do is what everyone else does. We can be boring, and live life the way everyone else does. Get up in the morning with the alarm blaring into your ear. Go to work. Come home, say hi to the kids, go to sleep. Man it makes you want to be George Lucas.

I think there is also a problem with the media these days. Movies always depicting what humans cannot do. Humans expecting these things to be factual. One of the first things you would need to learn before becoming one who searches for the secrets of the world; is to learn how to separate and analyze fantasy and reality.

Placebo

Thank you for taking your time to read the posts. Sometimes I fear the length of them would be the product of disinterest.

RE: Let's put the record straight

Placebo,
You say "Keith: As usual you're a cruel man in an argument :)"
Yep!
When an idiot suggest that my argument is illogical, it kind of fires me up. Know what I mean?

I have to say though that I do enjoy it, even though in this case the opposition was pathetic.

Please tell me, what does 'OWNED" mean?

RE: Let's put the record straight

Keith:

Owned would be a slang term defining a person who has been dominated over and over again in a conflict.

Used a lot in games that involve competition. I do not prefer to use this term. I find it immature.

Thanks Zack.
No. I don't think it's a word I will be using either.
Just hadn't come across it before.

Placebo.
What's happened to your TK blog?
It's gone very quiet. What have you been up to?

RE: Let's put the record straight

lol, nothing wrong with immaturity at the right time :) Keith's burping post is a good example.
I used to dislike the term, but I now find it pretty amusing in the right situation.

As for my TK blog, I haven't posted on it for some time. I've practice on occasion, but nothing worth posting on my blog.

To be honest, the time and effort involved is pretty high, and at the end of it you get a carfeully balanced object that moves :/

Regardless of whether it's genuine or not, it's fairly annoying and the novelty wears off fast :)
I just don't have the self determination right now, and have other things on my mind.

My life tends to go through such cycles.
When I manage to motivate myself again I'll press forward to something that can be used more convincingly in a scientifically controlled setting. I'm still fairly sure that there is something to discover in it. I'm just too darn lazy :)

PS - World of Warcraft is a massively addictive time waster x/
