My favorite athlete of all time

Dear Junior,

I have been hooked on baseball ever since I was a young kid watching you make a spectacular grab in the field, and then one upping yourself by hitting a home run the next inning. You made baseball fun for me to watch, and I would like to thank you for that. I remember watching your games on the west coast in the King Dome I would beg my mom to let me stay up for a little while longer, because Junior was coming up to bat pretty soon. I knew the entire order- check that the entire roster- and knew when you would be coming up. My bedtime revolved around Mariners games on television. I live in the midwest and a 7 oclock game in Seattle started at 9 and I usually only got to watch until the 7 inning. I always started the next morning by checking sportscenter to see if I missed a big fly. Often times I did. I have always rooted for you to break Aaron's HR record, I don't know if it's atop your priority list, but I wish you the best of luck.

Ken Griffey Jr, Git R Dun

Dear Mr Griffey,

I have been a one of your greatest supporters of you and your family for quite some time. Without a great supporting family, how can one become great? Right? Well, you fit the bill. The majority of pro atheletes in this generation have but one thing on their minds. Fame. They don't let their game speak. In my opinon, only 4 pro atheletes in this generation(1980-present) have played to play. You, Michael Jordan, Kevin Garnett, and the late Kirby Puckett. You guys don't go out on the field to brag, you keep to yourself and Git R Dun. No matter what anyone says about you or anything, you have had the greatest adversity in overcoming a load of injury. You rose above that and Got R Dun. Mr Griffey, you play the game with such excellence, respect, and passion that it gives guys like me a reason to watch something pure. Your the reason I watch baseball. You've got the sweetest swing in all of baseball. I have actually modeled your swing in softball and it's working extremely well. Thank you for everything you do with the game, thank you for your three awsome children that give you another reason to keep playin' like you do. Thanks kid, you truly are one of a kind. Git R Dun #3.

Your biggest supporter,

Rob from MN GO REDS!!!!!!GIT R DUN JUNIOR!!!!

griffey is the greatest baseball guy ever

Hello Mr. Griffey,

I have been a huge supporter of you and your family ever since your rookie year. I think what you do for the game of baseball is huge. I have almost every single piece of memorbilia I could get my hands on. My email has evidence of how much I admire you sir. You and a handful of other pro atheletes are true ambassadors for sports passion. You all don't need to brag or boast, you let your heart and game speak for you, I think that's awesome. Those considered in my opinon are, you, Michael Jordan, Kevin Garnett, and last but not least, the late Kirby Puckett. You are the reason I watch the game of baseball. You were my childhood hero, and still are today. Thanks to your unconditional passion to play the game for what it is, a game. You give guys like me something pure to watch. Thank you to your awesome family, your heart, and for your ability. Because behind every great star, they have a wonderful supporting cast. No matter what anybody says, you still got it. Have a terrific season, you'll have my support for the rest of your awsome career. My prayers and thanks.

WOW

Jr.

I have been a huge fan i remember the only games i ever watched of baseball were when you played. I played in childhood and watched ESPN every night before i could go to sleep just to see how you did. I have been hoping for your return to Griffey Jr. form and knowing it would come. Thank you for being the best sports role model any kid could have.

Korey

Hero

Griffey you've been my hero since i can remember. It was you and A-rod in seattle. I don't really care where you end up in at the beginning or where "home" is just do what is right for you.

Everett, WA

I love the game of baseball, I hate steroids and I know you are the greatest pure hitter of this era. Bonds ain't got anything on you. Go back to your old swing. The injuries will work out belive me.

Your biggest fan,

Nick Malysheff, 15

All-Time Great

I would just like to say that whether you end your career in Cincinatti or back in Seattle (one can dream right!?) That it was great seeing you play in Seattle. You were key to making Seattle a true baseball town and without you we would still be watching baseball in a concrete dome. I am in the Navy and away from Seattle but it would sure be great to see "Jr." back in the Mariner colors once I'm done with my enlistment. In my book you will always be the best.

JR.

It would be great to see Griffey end up to be the career home run leader but i think it would be even better if he got a ring. I think Jr. would agree that getting a world series championship would be on of the best accomplishments ever.

memories

I grew up totally idolizing ken, I lived in cincinnati and was in the Marine corps stationed in hawaii I was so excited when Ken signed with the reds it was literally a dream come true. I paid 800 dollars for a plain ticket and took speacial leave to be home and see his first game as a red, nothing can replace that. And I will enjoy and try to cherish every game from here on out because I do not want to think about baseball without the kid.

Griffey

I used to live in Seattle and use to watch Griffey play all the time. i have watched him since he came into the league and he is my favorite player of all time. and it would be my dream come true if he broke Hank Aarons record. He deserves it and if stays healthy the next 4-5 years and hits 30-40+ homeruns he can do it. i have faith in ya Griffey
