Defenite Future Hall of Famer

I think that Ken Griffey Jr has done a lot of good things in his career. He has set many milestones for the game of baseball in both hitting and fielding. He also currently has the most All-star game votes ever with over 6 million in one year. That, to me, is very impressive. Griffey is definitely my favorite player. I collect alot of his stuff. I currently have over 750 of his baseball cards. He is a fun player to watch and I hope to be able to meet him in person some day. Even if he doesn't break the home run record, I still think that he has done enough things in the past to be a definite consideration for a future hall of famer. Good luck Griffey for the rest of your career in baseball.

I was there to see Juniors first dinger in the Kingdome. He gave me a baseball at a game in 1989 after a third out during a boston game. He has yet to sign this ball but I know that one day he will and I have seen this guy play so many baseball games that I know he is the greatest player I have seen. Some people have natural talents, his is playing baseball. He saved baseball after the strike in 1994 and he'll shine through this steroid crap and help save this sport one more time. Come back to DH in Seattle Ken, you know it would be right to come back home.

Kiss asses...

All you guys do here is kiss Griffey's ass. C'mon he is good but not the greatest of all-time. He is a good centerfielder I'll give you that. But he isn't the "greatest". He is a good powerhitter but not the "greatest". I am a huge Griffey fan but he is not done with his career. When he retires judge him then not now and again his career is not over yet. Maybe he could be the best in the future not now.

He is the best.

Despite all of the critisism over the past 3 or 4 years, Griffey has came back in 2005 to be one of the dominant hitters again. If Ken would have stayed healthy there's no doubt in my mind he would surpass Hank Arron or Barry Bonds. For Ken's size he is the greatest hitters of all time. The only thing that would make Ken greater would be if he was traded to the Boston Red Sox. Boston is already awsome, and in my opinion has the 2nd best hitter in history, Manny. I predict Ken and Manny both to retire with well over 600 homers maybe even over 700. The will both be first ballad Hall of Famers. If you disagree w/ me then you need to think again or keep your mouth shut.

Hall of Fame Worth

Gone are the days of Ken Griffey Junior's slashing homeruns to all fields; gone are the days of Ken Griffey Junior tracking down a flyball that no one else could have gotten too; gone are the days of him being the best player in the game "today."

Instead, we have a 35 year old who's overcome three injury plagued years who is still capable of hitting .300, with 40 homers and 100 RBI's (depending on how many games he misses with his current injury).

He is still one of the best centerfielders in the game. Although he has lost a step, his instincts allow him to anticipate where balls are going to be hit. He isn't afraid to dive after balls, and other than Andruw Jones and Jim Edmonds, he is still the best centerfielder in the game.

What makes his career numbers (especially his homeruns)even greater, is the fact that he has hit most of his homeruns before the inflated, steroid induced numbers of the last five years.

Barry Bonds gets so much credit for being a great hitter, and he is, but he still took steriods, knowingly or unknowingly, and that should diminish his accomplishments. Bonds always said, as did Mark McGwire, that steriods can't help you hit a baseball. No, but they can help you hit it a littlefurther. Barry Bonds has always had a good swing, and he has worked hard to make it better. But guess what, muscles on steroids are stronger, period. All of a sudden, those doubles in the gaps and down the line are carrying over the fence.

This conversation will never come up when discussing Griffey's place in history. The only reason Ken Griffey Junior isn't approaching 700 homeruns right now is because of his injuries. Should Griffey play until he's 40, and average ONLY 30 homeruns per year, that still puts him around 680 for his career. Pretty impressive.

Ken Griffey Junior is one of the best to ever play the game, both offensively and defensively. And when asked who the greatest centerfielder of all time was, I will undoubtedly say Ken Griffey Junior, regardless of whether he passes Willy Mays in homeruns.

junior will be junior

my name is josh and I think that griffey is the best baseball player but is not the nicest person in the world. He could care less about his fans. I live in SEATTLE, WA and i have gone to see griffey overseas three times. I tried to get his autograph or maybe have a little conversation but he did squat. I wait outside the lockerroom and he brushes past me like im just some air. Griffey should show his fans especially the ones in in seattle some more freaking respect.

Griffey's Back!

I never had a doubt about my baseball idol growing up, Junior. People were down on a man who was plagued by injuries; early in the season he was just trying to find himself. Now look at him. The power's back, the bat speed is back, the man is back. He may not ever be the same outfielder he was, but that should be expected and accepted for all the leg problems he's had. I'm so happy for him...even though I'm a Braves fan. I wish him nothing but the best of luck the rest of the season and the rest of his career....here's to 650!!

Griffey

I asked my dad back in 200 when the reds traded for griffey if griffey was to get injuries for the rest of his career, would he get into the hall of fame. He said "Without a doubt".

Griffey

I believe Griffey will keep hitting homeruns. Too many people get down on him for not staying healthy and when he is healthy he does bad. Remember Griffey was selected to the all-star game last year. He was on pace to hit 4- dingers again. I think he's got a lot left in the tank. Don't be surprised when he hits 700 before he retires.

Junior's Cards

In 89 when Jr. came on to the scene I told my dad that I wanted to start collecting his rookie cards. And one year later I had them all *yes even the ones not posted in becket* But I have to admit nothing made me happier than realizing today that I have never given up on him and I now have over 500 of his cards *no doubles included* and I'm not going to stop any time soon. Hopefully I can be in Cooperstown the day he is elected to the hall. Keep swinging Jr.

one of the best players ever!

I beleive that junior will continue to hit many home runs,he still has the touch we have all seen that when he is healthy. I just pray that he stays healthy, the numbers take care of themselves. As far as being great, we all know he is by his numbers, attitude wise he is the greatest ever!!

All smiles

I wish i could say i was the biggest ken griffey fan but i am not. That title belongs to my younger brother mike. Today we both got home from a long days work and tuned in to the Reds vs dogers. Right when we tuned in we saw a pitch and a homer. We both just looked at each other and smiled. The first thing out of my brothers mouth was "that swing never gets old" Good Luck Jr.

he's the man

ever since hes been on the mariners, ive been a fan of his and always thought he would be the home run king someday. because of injuries, he has slowed down his pace, but i still think he is one of the best home run hitters ever to play the game. everyone i talked to before this season said that griffey would get hurt before he hits 10 home runs. i would just like to say that cause he is on a tear and has 22 on the year. and i would also like to thank griffey for all the energy and excitment he has brought to the game with his diving catches and home runs.

The Best

Griffey in my opinion, is the greatest to play the game. I put him in the same category as Willy Mays. A healthy Griffey can still hit 700 homeruns, which is still an elite club. I am most impressed with how he has handled his critics, his struggles and his pressure. Mr. Griffey is a class act. I was a fan, am a fan, and always will be a fan. It would be a shame for him not to get a world series ring. My hope is the Reds get some pitching, keep the core players and get him a winning team. A contending team is not in the cards this year, but it could be as soon as next year with some pitching. Mr Griffey, if you read this, thank you for all the thrills.
