RE:sheriff

By Sheriff,......Who is this idiot called Igbo kwenu? Ofeke......I do not know him too but, he is one in a million.

Sheriff.......If you cannot tolerate peoples opinion why not ignore them instead of calling them names.
Ofeke......Do you ignore other people opinion as you have suggested?

Sheriff........I have seen the trend and people scoring Obj zero.History will be the judge.

Ofeke......That history is what I have been talking about that Nigeria will never get better. If your prediction is to see OBJ as a messier in the future, then we
needs a professional surgeon to operate on Nigeria.

Sheriff,.....My problem with Nigerians is lack of patience and discipline. This is the greatest asset of the western world.

Ofeke......Imagine who is talking. You are referring to the world number 1 happiest nation. IBB that overthrown Buhari and his war against indiscipline, why did your messier OBJ and his agent EFCC not arrest him since last 8 years?

Sheriff.....A Nigerian want to do business with #100 and make a profits of #1000.00. Quick money syndrome.

Ofeke....Well, I have not seen anything wrong with making good profit. At list, it a genuine business.

Sheriff......Those who are blind and could not see anything positive in OBJ government are entittle to their views. For me, I agreed and aligned my thinking with GENTLEMAN Adetula. If you think I am not entittle to my views go and jump inside lagoon.

Ofeke.....For you who sees all things very good in OBJ government is also entitled to your own view. As well, you can agree and aligned with nonentity like you and no one will ever jump into lagoon for your nonchalant attitude.

For the book, I am not (Igbo kwenu). But my concern is this whatever called sheriff who likes to pollute this forum. You can change your name as many as you want, remember that you are still in OUK forum.

Re: Sheriff Moh'd (Mr Patience)

Mr Sheriff, I beg to disagree with you that Nigerians are not patient, and 8 lunar years is enough to see visible results of your role model (Obj). I suppose you haven't had the opportunity of traveling outside Sudan, otherwise, you'd have known that no Nigeria ruler can afford to endure for a week in most of those countries you're trying to imply, because people there are so demanding that they can prevail on such a non-performing ruler and force him out of office against his will.Don't benchmark Nigeria with your war torn place(Sudan)as there is no basis for such. Nigeria ought to be seen as a model for Sudan, if things were to be normal in Nigeria.

Can an American, British, Aussie etc, stay for a day without light, and mind you that, that's the prevailing condition in Nigeria where people stay for months without electricity and other essentials of life. Yet you've the gut to say that Nigerians are not patient. I totally disagree with you.Do you know that when there was a power failure in california last 3yrs, which lasted for just a while, and which was not act of reckless abandonment or neglect as we envisage in Nigeria for yrs, that Arnold Schweneggar had a real hard time to save his job as the governor, as there was calls from many quarters that he'd quit office, for such a case that average Nigeria would have enormous consideration to bear without much complaint.

I respect your view but you don't have to assert it arrogantly and ignorantly. As much as you want your own view to be accommodated, try to accept other people's view, and proffer a constructive criticisms if you think you've got a better and more persuading idea. The idea of asking one to jump into lagoon for mere countering you opinion amount to indecent and reckless expression.

Have fun!

Hey guys, please read and have fun.
This mono/dialogue is not my idea, it's Reuben Abati's.

Ministers, Thieving Naval Chiefs And Mama Yenagoa
By Reuben Abati

"Have you seen the list?" "The list of Ministers. Yes, I have seen
it. The Ministers are too many. My fear is that too much bureaucracy
and rivalry may tie down the government and affect performance. When
the Obasanjo government decided to prune down the number of Federal
Ministries, I had hoped at the time that this will reduce the size of
government. But that has not happened. Some of the present Ministries
in fact have three Ministers; Foreign Affairs, Transport, Education
and the `Ministry of Energy with four Ministers!

"That is the effect of Federal Character. Every state must be
represented, that is what the Constitution says and you have to find
something for the people to do. In fact, I thought you were going to
complain about the President holding on to the Energy portfolio. This
was the same thing that President Obasanjo did and we complained to
no end, until he grudgingly appointed a Special Adviser on
Petroleum."

"But are you surprised? This whole thing called Nigerian Presidency
is about the country's oil wealth, you know. If you are President
too, you will want to oversee the oil and gas sector yourself,
because that in fact is where the money and power are."

"But the President has more than enough to worry about."

"Yes. But he can't be too busy not to monitor Nigeria's main wealth.
I know people in the Niger Delta have been pushing for the
appointment of a substantive Minister of Petroleum. But see what the
President has done, he has shared the Energy portfolio among the
Hausa/Fulani, Yoruba and the South South, with the North having the
main advantage."

"To tell the truth, the sharing of portfolios is skewed in favour of
the North. Now, I am beginning to see why the Yoruba Council of
Elders had to complain that President Yar'Adua is embarking on the
Northernisation of the Federal Government."

"I used to argue that it doesn't matter which Ministry a man is
given, but I think I agree that some Ministries are more strategic
than others. In terms of power concentration, the North is definitely
favoured."

"Look at the portfolios given to the North. Energy, Agriculture and
Water Resources, Finance, Defence, Federal Capital Territory, Labour,
National Planning Commission, National Sports Commission, Women
Affairs. What else is left? Even Obasanjo did not do that. And look
at the Ministries that you may even consider a bit important, there
is a Northerner in the shadow as a Minister of State."

"But let us try and be fair. Take a second look at the list. The East
also has some strategic portfolios. Transport, Education, Foreign
Affairs, Commerce and Industry."

"You went to compare that to Finance, Defence, FCT, Energy National
Sports Commission, the office of the National Security Adviser,
Secretary to the Government of the Federation?"

"To be fair really and on second thoughts, I think we should rise
about this ethnic reading of everything in Nigeria. Let us assess the
government on the basis of performance and not be too bothered about
the ethnic origin of the Ministers."

"I wish it were that easy. The point is that the greatest fear among
Southerners is that of the re-Northernisation of the Federal
Government, Under the military, it was so bad that virtually every
important position in this country was in the hands of Northerners.
It was part of the reasons why Nigerians in the South began to kick
against military rule. If President Yar'Adua is not yet guilty as
charged, he should watch out for this pitfall."

"You are just preaching. The political North has a better sense of
power than the rest of the country put together. Have you forgotten
that the politics of Nigeria is all about who gets what? The scramble
for Nigeria never ended. Incidentally, today is July 29. On the same
date in 1966, the North staged a coup to assert itself politically
and came to power. If President Yar'Adua has forgotten that history,
there will be more than enough people from the North to remind him."

"But Obasanjo didn't put Yorubas everywhere."

"And did his people not condemn him for showing more interest in
other people's children? I hear that the North is not taking chances
this time around. Have you not noticed that the Emirs have all
suddenly become very vocal and influential? "

"Yar'Adua is President of Nigeria, not President of the North. I
don't think there is anything wrong in reminding him of that all the
time."

"But he is using the slot for the North under the rotation of power
principle. These things are not as simple as some of us make out. If
you are made President tomorrow, you too will be tempted to pay more
attention to your people."

"I'll like to see the kind of kitchen cabinet that emerges in due
course, I mean the inner caucus within government. That is what I am
waiting for. Very soon, the power centres in government will be
defined. And the picture will be clearer. We will know who is in the
government at the centre an those who are just filling quota"

"The picture is clear enough already. The political North s back in
power effectively. It is in charge"

"Poor Bode Agusto. He did very well at the Ministerial screening but
he didn't make it. The Senate refused to clear him."

"This is politics, not an IQ test"

"Take a look at the list. If I were some of these people, I would
just resign. Take Prince Adetokunbo Kayode (SAN). He has been given
the Culture and Tourism portfolio. Is that a job for a lawyer?"

"My learned friend or what do you people call yourselves? You will be
surprised that Kayode (SAN) would be very happy indeed. Very soon,
you will start seeing him looking the part. A Minister is a Minister
my friend, including a Minister without portfolio"

"I understand. But what of Henry Ajumogobia (SAN). "

"Dey there. Ajumogobia has a good portfolio. Minister of State for
Energy (Petroleum). "

"One good news though is the President's statement that any Minister
that is caught stealing will be sent to jail."

"It is just that our people are greedy. A man or woman who has been
made a Federal Minister out of 140 million people does not need to
steal. The honour itself is enough."

"But honour won't pay the bills. It won't take care of the crowd of
hangers-on who will be asking the Minister for all sorts of favours,
including requests that he should help pay hospital bills and bride
prices."

"Ministers are well taken care of. It is just that Nigerians are very
greedy people".

"Like the 10 Naval Chiefs who were retired because they are said to
be involved in illegal bunkering."

"Those ones should not be retired. They should be put in the dock and
made to face the full wrath of the law."

"The Naval chiefs are challenging their retirement though. They
insist that due process was not followed."

"That is what you get when you treat people with kid gloves. When
people talk about illegal bunkering, I feel uncomfortable, the right
word is oil theft. We are talking about stealing. There are too many
people in high places stealing Nigeria' s oil and the Navy is clearly
implicated."

"I recall that on two occasions now, ships that were being detained
under court orders have disappeared from our waters.. I like the
statement by that Naval Officer, Captain Samson Ojediran. He says the
Nigerian Navy is full of thieves."

"A Navy of thieves. I like that."

"By the way, your friend, Alami, Alams, has been sentenced to two
years imprisonment"

"I thought it was 12 years"

"Two years each for a six-count charge but the sentences will run
concurrently which then means only two years, and since he has
already spent close to two years in EFCC custody, he is a free man
again."

"Life and its many twists. Governor today, ex-convict tomorrow. I
hope the Present Governors will learn from what is going on."

"It will either make them smarter or more careful."

"So what will Alams do now?"

"What will he do? Life continues. You will be surprised he will
bounce back sooner than you think. This is Nigeria. All he needs to
do is to get some characters to start saying that he was a victim of
political intrigues. And you will be surprised, Nigerians will buy
the spin."

"Nigeria we hail thee."

"Anything is possible in this country. In fact Alams could become a
Godfather to some politicians in Bayelsa and he may even serve as a
consultant on some of these matters."

"On what matters"

"How to slip out of Britain with the help of the British government.
How to survive in EFCC custody. How to use ill-health as a bargaining
measure in detention"

"Ah, and your brother, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani. He refused to be
returned to EFCC custody and chose the prison instead."

"To God be the glory"

"Is that what you will say?"

"Is that not what the man himself said?. Life is too cruel, and human
beings are worse"

"Life is cruel only for those who take it too seriously. Life is
actually simple.

"I wanted to draw your attention to something. I have just
remembered."

"Fire on."

"There is this story I read in Punch, quoting Professor Osato Giwa-
Osagie as saying that in the future men should start preparing
themselves to have babies just like women."

"What is that? And what has that got to do with me? Are you sure the
Professor was not quoted out of context? Men carrying pregnancies.
What is that?"

"With science anything is possible. He was talking about in vitro
fertilisation, IVF. A donated egg will be fertilised with sperm and
injected into a man's abdomen, and he can carry the pregnancy like
women. And looking at your stomach, I think this your stomach can
hold not just one baby but twins, even triplets".

"You are not serious."

"Serious people are in Aro Mental Hospital"

"Lest I forget, have they now found Mama Yenagoa?"

"The mother of the Speaker of the Bayelsa state House of Assembly.
She is not missing; she was kidnapped. And the kidnappers are saying
they will kidnap more politicians and their relations because the
politicians have abandoned them after using them during the
elections."

"The chickens coming home to roost"

"But kidnapping people's mothers, sisters and children is not the
right thing to do."

"I know. But don't miss the point about how politicians use thugs
during elections."

"That still doesn't justify the action of the criminals"

"We are saying the same thing"

"I am not quite sure".

"Only God can help us in this country."

"How can anybody kidnap a woman in her 70s"?

"One of these days, they will start kidnapping other people's wives.
I think that is where they are actually going".

"Sorry about your friend. I saw the report in ThisDay"

" Samuel Famakinwa, Deputy Editor, ThisDay. Very sad. They said they
found him in his hotel room, dead. I still can't believe that he is
dead."

"That is life"

"Nice guy, very cheerful, hardworking, full of energy, brilliant
reporter..."

"The sudden death syndrome is very common these days."

Re: Jon Lawrence, I salute your brillant analysis

Well, it actually amount to sheer waste of energy trying to clarify the analysis based on the stooge and sycophant called Prince Adetule. He is one of those characters in Nigeria who lives in the air, and claims they know what is happening in Nigeria when it's obvious that they are totally ignorant of the happenings there. I suppose, he's a vested interest in promoting a man that honour had eluded owe to his arrogancy. Jon Lawrence, the crux of the matter based on your analysis is that even when the world bank could claim that over $10 billion was remitted home from abroad to run the economy, the so called World bank have failed to tell us how much in Naira or dollar terms that had fled Nigeria owe to bad governance we've been having in Nigeria. Go to Walter Carryton(Lagos)or other designated places for oversea embassies and see how much Nigeria is loosing to smart countries like US, UK etc, and most essentially the human capital itself draining out of the country en masse on daily basis, because of the horrible situation in Nigeria, and yet, somebody could be so moronic to say that Obj scored 70%. If that's the case, who would want to be exploited and abused in the name of securing a visa to another country where one would be rated second class citizen. If those countries like UK, US etc could state the amount of money Nigerians pay on yearly basis for visa application, and yet over 80% of such application are rejected after such exploitation, you'll be amazed that the economy of those countries are largely being supported by Nigeria. For instance UK outrageously raised its visa fee by over 100% and unfortunately no one cared to query them for such mindless hike, which is only applicable in Nigeria. This is to tell you how irresponsible and unresponsive the govt of Obj was. One cannot talk of millions of pounds and dollars Nigerians are paying abroad as school fees and taxes when ordinarily one would have paid much less to acquire education in Nigeria. But, those privileged ones going abroad are very rational because our Universities are not functional and far below world class standard. If Obj had performed up to 70% as claimed by Adetule guy, he would have reversed that trend but, the truth is that the push factor to leave Nigeria was highest during Obj's tenor in office, apart from during the infamy Abacha era, when people were running out of the country for refuge purpose. Honestly, 'Prince' Adetule only succeeded in revealing his ignorance by such overbloated rating. Even Obj cannot rate himself so high like that, knowing fully well, that he failed dismally.

OBJ

I have said it before and I will repeat it again, the best answer to fools is to keep mute. I have not read of any vacant from the office of auditor general. From 0 balance in 1998 to trillions in 2007. What a wonderful Nigeria.

The Art of Scoring OBJ

A new debate has developed regarding score card for OBJ. I think we all deserve our opinions but all I can say to all OBJ high scorers is that you must be doing well for yourselves but take a look at your next door neighbour and tell me how well they are doing.

In Nigeria people measure success as to how sweet life is for them but which comes back to bit them because they all become uncomfortable like we had today in Nigeria especially in Niger Delta. OBJ has a great opportunity to achieve great things for Nigeria but he wasted it because all he does is using all the power vested on him to destroy those that disagree with him both dead and alive.

Nearly fifty years after our so called independence from Britain, we're still talking about erratic/chronic electricity, water and road problems instaed of daily economic prospects like most nations. We from the South East do not score OBJ high because he left South East worst than he met it despite that one of our sons as he claimed puts him to bed all night and reads him bedtime stories until he dozes off sleep, that we thought should have worth a new Niger bridge because of the state of the one the colonialist build for us.

The only thing OBJ till gave us was an illegitimate child he had with an Igbo unfortunate woman as he claimed himself while in one of his numerous trips to Igbo land to insult us and our intelligence.

What is keeping Nigeria afloat to day is Nigerians abroad, cleaning and mopping anything that moves in their respective host countries through the money they remit home to their families every single day which equates according to world bank in the region of 10 billion dollars annually but this is despite selling crude for an average of $50 for the past eight years plus on an average 2 million barrels per day.

As long as we keep moving around the circle and kept re-cycling old cargo politicians and their offsprings, our grant children will be having this same debate in 50 years time. Nigerians should look beyond part time job of Igbo hatred and see the benefits Igbo nations call for a soveriegn states among Nigerians and see that it's the only viable option that left to be tried for a workable solution to unstoppable nationhood problems. When you do things the same way for years, you will be mad to expect a different result.

But interestingly, I read in this forum, an Igbo man saying that in a referedum that 90% of our people will opt to remain in Nigeria and I laughed because it's first time the elite like him had mention the need for us to determine our destiny but the bad news for him and his cohorts are that in such a referenda, it the UN that conducts it, not Maurice Iwu and his INEC mafia gangs, because we knew what the outcome will be if he does.

So those scoring OBJ high as president may have a case based on their personal leverage under him as a ruler eventhough it doesn't reflect on faces of millions of Nigerian leaving below poverty level, so who can blame them. Afterall some South Africans actually fought the end of apartide because their little crumps from the racist regime will end with aparthide. Such is life.

Re: Prince Adetule

I would have loved to ignore you, but I am afraid I can't. It is good you tried to balance the achievements of the past president with his non-achievements, but scoring him 70% is taking it too far. How does the 70% you scored him relate to the poor health, illetracy and empty plates of the majority of the masses?
It is only when you can reconcile the parallel lines existing and explain why poverty has become most people's best friend that I will agree with you. Till then, I still insist that OBJ failed the country by both omission and commission.

re; Prince Dr. Adetule

You assessment was good, but not (good) enough to have scored Obj 70%. That 'better' was possible and as we all had anticipated under his near wasted 8yrs in power. The issue is not about the rating and all that stuff. The issue is that Obj and most if not all of our past leaders never loved the country as they made us believe. That Obj today is one of the richest people in the world when the digits of poverty (abject) and unemployment keep-on rising. except on the paper, can you explain to me how all these your so called achievements have affected the lives of the common man in the country?

You're resident in the United States, you know what is Monetary Policy, you Know what is Fiscal Policy, you know what is Consumption Propensity (Spending Ratio), Open Market, Supply and Demand, Purchasing Power, and so many other economic elements capable of changing Nigeria for the better. What is Obj's scores regarding to it? In the aforementioned 6 elements, was it not only '1' which is 'Monetary Policy' that Obj's government scored better? 1 out of 6 major economic elements (let us assumed that he did it; not Soludo). That a man who scored 16% in economic management of his country after 8 yrs of oil boom in the international market is surprising to me. When did you visit the country last? How much has you sent to your siblings back-home all these yrs to assist them keep body&soul together?

To me Obj is a rogue. Inshort, I wouldn't love to see anybody singing praises for this deadwood. I wish him a good retirement, simple. While poverty continue to wipe my people when, they're riding on private jets (enjoying their stolen wealth) with boldly written placards on how 'better wages' could skyrocket inflation to high heaven (the only economic policy every government official knows and understand).

Continued Detention Of Uwazuruike

Continued Detention of Uwazuruike.

The "unjustified reason" behind the continued detention of Chief Raph Uwazuruike remains a surprise to any wise-thinking Nigerian. His appeal to be granted bail has been on several occasions denied by court under the strict instructions of the F.G. The FG had held a "misconstrued view" on the person and actions of Chief Uwazuruike, labelling him "a big threat to the security of the nation".This unfortunately,is untrue. He has been non-violent in all his activities before he was arrested two years ago.
Instead of granting him bail as was done to some notorious leaders from the other ethnic groups even at the death of his mother, the FG and court had maintain adamant ears to his appeals! Too ironical, freedom for bandits,"inceasant imprisonment" for a law abiding citizen!!!
All this amount to injustice not only to him but also to the entire Ndi-Igbo as a nation.
Ndi-Igbo have since after the civil war ensured peace and co-existence in Nigeria despite obvious marginalizations ,yet the FG maintains its inhumane treatment to the chosen race,Ndi-Igbo.
Now let it be re-awaken in the minds of FG that "truth is like oil poured on water that always float".In the light of this, the ordeal of Uwazuruike and of course Ndi-Igbo will not last forever! The Jewish brothers,ISREALITES,suffered the same way in a nation of theirs but at the appointed time were freed.
And that time of freedom for every Igboman is nearing fast. It's unstoppable by any person. All the actions of FG and court are "good fuels"
for the faster actualization of freedom for Ndi-Igbo. Joyfully;Ndi-Igbo are great and able!

Prince,

You are nothing but a stooge, or someone who is desperately looking for an appointment, that is why you can score OBJ 70% and still send your personal details, including your email address. Fa Fa Fa Fowl. It will not work. Nigeria has moved pass your stage. You are living in a dream land and sleep-walking, but I advice you to wake up from your slumber and start facing reality. OBJ failed Nigerians totally, PERIOD

Sheriff,

As for you, you will always be the biggest fool ever. Mr refuge, go and save all the thieves roaming the accient city of Benin and all the cultists in Ambrose Alli University and stop tagging along. You are only good at responding to what other people have written and blindly support an argument once it is in favour of OBJ.
I am not surprised, you are a confused man. Afterall you said you are not Hausa, but wouuld be proud of being one.
