Attention: AC NWOSU

You may be ashamed to be an Igboman for the reason best known to you but not many are. We got nothing to be ashamed of. If you read all the articles including mine relating to Kalu and EFCC, nobody is crying for him as you claimed but people are emphasising that his problem when you weigh it is more political than fight against corruption which many of us will like not only Kalu alone but all the Easthern governors.

EFCC can do a good job but still do with dignity and within the concept of the rule of law. We will like Orji Kalu to appear before an open court to be cross examined by those that accuse him, we will like to hear the facts of his stealing and not fictions, we will like to hear witnesses called to testify against him with fact and in the end, if all the evidence is without doubt, let him be even jailed for life, nobody cares.

But I don't like the idea of seizing his assets, harrasing his family or humiliating him when nobody has find him guilty of any offence yet. Accusation or charges agaist any person, is not the same as being guilty. In law everyone is presumed innocent and until find guilty. There is nothing wrong about asset seizure but that should be after he must have been convicted and those to be seized are the ones he was meant to have been stolen, as he must have had something before he becomes a governor.
I can't remember anyone seizing Balogun's or Alamesiagha's assets.

So that is the point of the matter, as no one is crying for Orji but they should treat him as innocent until he is found guilty and why is the remaining 32 governors walking about free?

ASHAME TO BE AN IBO MAN

With the way people are reacting to the arrest of Kalu I wonder who on earth will take us serious as a tribe. Kalu messed up and he should be dealt with. Balogun was dealt with and the Yorubas did not cry to heaven. Alamieyeseigha was dealt with, no Ijaw cry foul. But when a thief called Kalu was caught, we are shouting third term, Obj. Is OBJ responsible for all his stealings? Surely not. Lets bring out geniue fact as to the looting of OBJ and see if the EFCC will not act. We should stop all this stupid talk. If Daraye steals and get away with it, does that mean Kalu should steal and get away with it. Untill we stops all this sentiments and greed, we shall continue to be the football of other tribes.

Kalu should be wise

It is not in contest that OUK set himself up as a scape goat. Discretion is the better part of valour, they say. If you must dine with the devil, you may want to consider using a long spoon. The vigour with which his assets are being frozen is pointer to the enthusiasm in the drive to hang the Dog.

The line between sentiment and the Law is too thin in this OUK's matter. The question is, notwithstanding the conspiracy theory, is there reasonable cause for OUK and the other governors to account for their stewardship? Yes. Are they all going to be presented with the deserved day in court on the same platter? Unfortunately, no. That is where the human factor comes to play.

The Law could be an ass. Yes, wise and privileged people may ride on it. Like the governors that stayed back and humbly managed their cases. Ego does not mix well with politics, which is why 'successful' businessman are advised to steer clear of politics.
OUK's ego did not help his matter. And, not just him, the people of Abia suffered thorough neglect through the span of this ego contest with the federal government.

OUK should disembark from the high horse, and structure a plea bargain, as quickly as he can (Jolly Nyame? has began his own process). Let him reach a settlement plan, like the rest of the "free" crew, and return whatever loot is applicable, to the people of Abia, and hope to go home and sin no more.

To do otherwise, and to remain cocky in the face of the several allegations, might not yield him a good day in court; conspiracy or otherwise, ask Alams.

Ofeke: Spoke for Us All

I hate to see a fellow Igboman suffer and even anyone else for that matter. But the case of Orji Kalu is a typical case of we told you so. And there is a saying that the Bush fowl should learn a lesson or two on witnessing the slaughter of home fowl, that is exactly how his own end will look like one day.

Like Ofeke mentioned, when the going was good, all the eastern governors except Ngige, especially Kalu used every means at their disposal to fight their own people when they decided to brand and paint MASSOB bad and instigated killing of many of our people in the hands of SSS and the Nigerian police/army.

Despite Ngige's, illegal occupation of the Anambra's governors office instead of Peter Obi, who cannot know the reason an average Igbo thinking man loved Chris Nwabueze Ngige till this day? He stood tall and answered his fathers name when our land was assulted and insulted by OBJ and his Igbo born conspirators.

Kalu was so desperate to please, his freinds and owners of Nigeria that he committed treason against the Igbo/Eastern nation, when he advocated that we should apologise for the war we weren't the aggressors but the victims of first African genocide before Rwanda. Now who will fight for him? Nobody!! But I will love to but it's difficult to summon the love to do so.

Everybody knew that his trivial with EFCC is mostly politically motivated than genuine fight against corruption. If not why are they seizing his assets when he has not been found guilty of any offense yet?

In a civil society, an accused is deemed innocent, until proven guilty. So if they start destrying his busniesses now and he was later found not guilty, how much compesation will EFCC pay for doing so?

Kalu's situation is a lesson for every Igboman, especially the elite- "Umunna Wu Ike" meaning, power comes from your home/kinmen. If the world love you but you are dispite by your own family, you can't say that you are loved at all. Can you?
EFCC should leave the SUN NEWSPAPER alone- This is a democracy not the Abacha era.

A Two-Facet World.

History has got a lot to teach us but we have been unable to learn, especially, the political Elite.Every events around man unfolds a sterling truth that we live in a two-facet world,a world of opposites! The physicist and close scientists say what goes up comes down"the law of gravity".And this is undoubtably true.
Nevertheless,we hardly abide by this truth. Our Leaders, both past and present are culpable in this regard. When one is not in power every wrong done by the incumbent deserves damnation and possibly reprieval of post. But given the same opportunity,no difference manifests in change of attitude and service to the masses. This depicts the picture of Nigerian politicians.
The unfolding events in the trial of some"corrupt Ex-governors" buttress this write-up.While serving as Governors, they had policemen as barricade around them.Today, the same police squeeze them into prison buses! But who learns?
EFCC must have been doing a good job. However, it will be a great delight if the "drag-net" of EFCC is spread across all past Governors.Let all of them be probed, they each have one crime or the other against them.Yes they were all corrupt.Justice and arrest should not be meted only against perceived anti-Obasanjo administration. Of course, a closer look at those currently facing charges of misappropriations shows a one-sided action by the EFCC!
Also, the accomplice of the past Governors should not be left aside.Every penny they shared should be recovered.A case in point is that of Taraba ex-governor,Nyame. Those who implicated him should be brought to justice.
This way,we can believe in EFCC.

Freezing Of Kalu's Assets

I have always supported EFCC all along but recently they are taking a wrong path in their actions.
What has the assets of this man got to do with whatever he was accused of by EFCC.They are already pronouncing a sentence of guilt before the young man is tried.Ribadu as a learned man should be able to act reasonably so that his actions can be justified. If there is a proof that he stole Abia state funds and used the SUNNEWSPAPERS to hide the funds then he should be prosecuted in the law court but if not the newspaper company should be left in peace to continue with their business as you cannot make those who work there to be jobless.
There should be no witch hunting of innocent people.

Orji Kalu

Who will rescue Orju Uzo Kalu (OUK)? In my last four article, I tried to prove a point that, OBJ is still in active duty. Today, there is no doubt in my mind that he Olusegun Obasanjo is still in charge.

But the point I am trying to make here is all about Kalu, not OBJ's selective Judgment on every igbo man and there businesses. After all, he silenced Jim Nwobodo and savanna bank, Ibeto & Co., and lots of uncountable atrocities he melted in the lives of igbos and Nigeria in general.

I remembered when Kalu denounced (MOSSOB)and labeled them illegal. He Kalu used Abia or his money to build mosque for the Moslem's in Biafran land, without building a common boys quarter for the Christians. He Kalu begged Nigeria government to forgive the brave biafran soldiers that fought with all they gat for the war without consulting his kinsmen. In fact, this two points is treasonable offense to the good people of igbo which he is one of us. Kalu did not carry the igbo people along in most of his dealings. He is the champion of one Nigeria.

My question now is, who will fight for Kalu? He had every tool in his disposals to build soldiers that will fight this war that is in front of him. He did not chooses the home grown armies to fight for him instead, he wasted all his energy in foreign fighter who need the federal intelligent to penetrate into the battalion in front of him now.I do not know of any igbo parson or group that have fought for other igbo sons and daughters whom have been relegated to minor league in the past 8years. With the present representative(sell out OJO MMADUEKWE, in the hands of OBJ,I am very much afraid of Kalu's life.

I hope that this will not be the end of my brother Kalu, but this is the beginning of the end of the new eastern governors, who will forget their respective duties and first run to Abuja to register their self ego to Aso-rock. It is time the new governors should stand up for their brothers and sisters in the east because, hen does not forget who uproot its feather during the rainy season.

My brother Kalu, no doubt, this is the handy work of your opponents from your own village and town with gladiator OBJ. If you ever get out of this lion den, then you will have to use your connections to salvage the igbo struggles. Uwazuruike is one of the victim of this selective justice. Take heart my brother. All will be well.

Temi

Thank you for the privileged information, Temi.

I hope you will consider the cheap and safe opportunities presently available to all law abiding citizens of the world, pending when your government may establish the indigenous facilities that will be run as efficiently as NEPA, NNPC, Nigerian Airways, and NITEL.

Final gist

We're waiting for the ng not gov.ng to materialise, that's our own portal managed and controlled by Nigerian engineers, with a target of initial subscription of 5 million people by $2 under ng; that's $10 million annually. The plan is underway with the second face of Sat1. I hope you'll drop your $10/yr godaddy to patronise your country which I hope may get to the end users at $4/yr?

Do you think the rich man who shops at a shopping mall in Ikoyi is not aware that he can get it cheaper at Idumota? The fact is that he may not come out as clean as he entered the market, either his necklaces or his wristwatch are stolen or his portfolio snatched. What we called penny-wise pound-finish.

When a politician fool-around, his political detractors must see to it that he spent the rest of his life answering to the press.
