US not opposed to Kalu’s trial — Envoy

This is a quotation from Punch newspaper "The United States has denied that it is averse to the trial of the former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

In his valedictory press briefing on Wednesday, the outgoing US Ambassador to Nigeria, John Campbell, said it was not the business of the US Government to dictate to its allies how to run their judicial systems.

He was reacting to media reports in the wake of the arrest of Kalu, that the US opposed the arrest and trial of the ex-governor.

Campbell said, “This is a Nigerian judicial process, it is altogether improper for the United States to comment on such a process and as far as I know, contrary to press reports, we have not done so.

“The United States Government has made no statement absolutely ever about an entire judicial process that is now underway.” SHAME TO TO YOU SUN AND YOU SUPPORT FOR THE IMPROVISED OF THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA AND ITS PEOPLE! SHAME TO YOU AND KALU!

Portharcout refinery

The withdrawal(?) of interest by Dangote and Otedola, from the Portharcourt refinery is a sad development; a bad signal to intending investors in the Nigerian downstream oil sector.

The inefficiencies of NNPC are now welcome to continue, and the fuel queues welcome to grow longer.

Even as the protesting workers may find themselves queuing by the carcass of the dead refinery, in the next 10 years (or less), waiting to be paid the elusive pension, like at the Nigerian railway corporation, NITEL, and NIPOST. But, that is why we are a unique people! We never learn.

i commend the effort of EFCC so far as regards the past govt office holders, i still want them to drag their net further to local govt chairmen that received award as the best LG chairman for the year 2006, he chairmaned a local govt area for 8yrs without any meaningful development.

PDP BOT Chair: North May Move Against Obasanjo

I said it some weeks ago that northern political elites will soon make OBJ a political garbage. Within one month the PDP BOT chairman is removed from him. And now north wants to have it. President from north, senate president from north and now north wants PDP BOT chairman. Civilian slavery or nigerian apartheid is born and on 01.10.-- the birthday is celebrated. Please dont fail to bring along your birthday present.

RE: SHERIFF MOHAMMED

I am glad many of you understand the logic behind my posting. I know that he did not stop reading the postings even though he stopped writting. I just wanted to confirm it in a funny way and he did not waste time in replying. This means he read the forum regularly, so why is he decievig himself?

While I agree that Eastern governors are no saints, I totally agree that there is selective justice. Even a child knows it. But Sheriff's eyes are so shortsighted that he cannot see it. This is why when anyone mentions that there is an ethnic sentiment to the justice system of EFCC, he explodes like Nuhu Ribadu is his father.

At least we have seen him for who he really is.

I know Mr Sheriff's kind. He does not accommodate other people's views. He feels he is always right and everyother person wrong.

My forum people, does his action not confirm what Ofeke 1 has been saying. Nigeria does not want the Igbo's, but they dont want them to go. Similarly, Sheriff does not like this forum, but he cant keep his eyes of it.

I know that we as Igbos have to clean up our act. We still have a long way to go, but Nigeria should be ready for us. They either accept us as first class citizens or let us go. You cannot continue pushing a man. When he get to the wall, he will surely push you back.

Ofeke 1, I greet oh

Truth is bitter

The truth is always bitter. I do not care about what some in this forum will say about my consistent attack on the parsons of people like Adedibu, Anenih, Ubas and emperor OBJ. The truth remains that, he OBJ is still in charge of Nigeria affairs. For this reason, nothing, I mean absolutely nothing will change from face of last eight years.

I will continue to defend my own until justice is done in all. You can not eat your cake and ask to share mine. If Iwuanyanwu, Alex, Iwu and many more traitors could not open up their God giving mouth and say it as it is, I Ofeke 1, will continue to hammer the nail on the head.

I do not do 419, neither do I mingle with crooks. I have no skeleton in my cupboard, therefore, I do not have anything to fear. I do not have any roting fish in my bedroom, then why should I be afraid of rat invitation. Though EFCC could do anything to get an innocent people by planting whatever in someones house, yet they will not succeed. I will be moving back home finally to settle down after a long 13years of living in another man's country. If Nigeria were good in the first place, I would not have spent a whooping 13years outside Nigeria.

If Nigeria government wants to arrest corrupt ex-governors, they should arrest all of them same day. I do not like to hear invitation to some and some in their net like as if they are Talapia fish.

I wish Nigeria well, but I doubt any meaningful thing coming to that country as it is still govern by same people of human body with beast heart. TUFIAKWA.

Well-Done!

Hello my good friends.

I’m so glad that people air their views and feelings in this forum. Well-done to you all,I'm enjoying all your contributions.

I think what is happening to the Ex-governors is a good step and other ways of moving forward, the newly elected governors will mind their ways of spending money.

EFCC let yours search light search fast to other ex-governors, Please!

Wishing Nnamani Quick Recovery!!!

Chi boy!!! Ebeano 1 of Enugu state!!! I wish you quick recovery! I’ve mentioned in this forum that Nnamani is my kinsman, my village has never witnessed the type of development witnessed during his term in office. However, this is a question of the fate of Enugu as a whole, Nnamani made so much noise on any project he carried out, OBJ has to commission any road he parched with the loud declaration that Enugu is working.

I don’t know if anybody remembers the noise made about a “tunnel” touted as the first tunnel in Nigeria, I was totally disappointed when I came home and saw that the so called tunnel is nothing more than a zebra crossing. Only God knows how much was stolen as a result of that project. There are some nice projects he did like the Parklane teaching Hospital, the conference centre which will actually be a symbol of the state when completed.

God grant him quick recovery to answer for his deeds, we wouldn’t want our seat in the senate to remain empty.
To God be the Glory !
