I was glad to see that only a very TINY minority do not like Judge Marilyn, for whatever lopsided reasons. The racial comments were totally uncalled-for, but such are the product of small minds. I dare anyone else to make me go Pepe le Pew over such a little thing as when Judge Marilyn gets up out of her chair to review the case evidence! I believe there is room for all of these shows to coexist, and even though Judge Judy ain't nobody's warm and fuzzy, she is also a straightup-no bull**** type who, like me, simply does not suffer fools gladly; I call her "Judge Bitch" affectionately, rather than disparagingly. But Judge Marilyn in the Raleigh/Durham market has had a bit of a journey - she was first on Channel 40 which had the misfortune to suffer the destruction of its broadcast tower by a small airplane - during HER show! - and then after I had months of Marilynlessness, she moved to Channel 28 [UPN] at the dead-of-night hour of 2 a.m., which caused me to miss many airings. When I found suddenly after a while that this garbage called "Beyond" had taken THAT slot, I was feeling really down - until she surfaced on Channel 22 [WB] at 10 in the morning! Now I have 5 glorious hours of Justice during the day - including 2 Judge Mathises and an hour of "Divorce Court" - although Judy and Judge Joe Brown unfortunately slug it out between 4 and 5 o'clock. But that's what two VCRs are for! }8O) |
| Posted By: Ken Sirhan Posted On: Mar 12, 2003 Views: 1315 | People's Court Ratings I liked Judge Jerry fine, but he was a bit too mild-mannered - some of the litigants before him gave him a hard time that his wife would NEVER have tolerated. Judge Marilyn Milian is simply DAZZLING - a combination of great beauty, passion, intelligence and humor. I am alarmed to find that the ratings of her show are in decline - the only blemish in the whole setup is that Curt person, who certainly has the right name; his whole attitude towards the litigants is just that, CURT! He appears to be a frustrated set designer or traffic cop, always directing people where to stand and face the camera, ordering them to "Come on out here," and asking, "What's your reaction?" in grinding repetitiveness! Twenty times a week I want to kick him in the crotch! He should be relegated to voiceovers and somebody else put in the position of Hallway Guy, as he refers to himself. In the meantime I will still watch [and record] as many of Judge Marilyn's shows as I can. |

Better litigants would be an option, but Judge Milian is great!! If I had a case, I would definitely consider going to Judge Milian. Another option in my opinion would be more advertisement. I never watched Peoples Court before Judge Milian, I thought it was very boring before she came. Now I record the show every day so I can watch it after work. I think Judge Milian is pretty, compassionate, funny, very entertaining and a darn good judge. |

Not only is she beautiful, but fair and compassionate. When she gets angry there is a good reason. I think one of the reasons the ratings are low is the time slot it is in. If it were shown in the evening after the news like Judge Judy and Judge Joe Brown in our area, I am sure it would be rated higher. Also, I have not seen any commercials about her show, except during it. More exposure would help. Judge Marilyn is the best Judge on TV. She is far superior to Judge Judy who seems to like to put down or dismiss people. She is rude and rarely kind to the cases she hears. If I ever had to be in court for any reason, I would prefer Judge Marilyn. I believe she is fair and leaves your dignity intact. Please don't cancel or replace her. Just advertise more and schedule later where people who work can watch and enjoy the show. |

I can't imagine why this show would even be considered for cancellation. I watch it everyday! I'm sure many people do also. I vote to keep judge Marilyn around!!! |

I cant wait to go to New York and see the show! My husband thinks I am a crazy Judge groupie! lol I had my first son Dec 11th 2002 and I went into labor at 6:30am and I watched the Peoples Court right before I started pushing. The nurse was like It's time to push,, I was like Not yet!!! lol I started to push at 11:15am and I was telling my husband I will be done by 1pm because I want to wacth the peoples court and I pushed him out at 12:02pm and I was able to wacth the peoples court. :) GO PEOPLES COURT! |

Posted On: Mar 6, 2003 Views: 1265 | Judge Milian is saving court tv If it weren't for Judge Milian joining People's Court, I would have stopped watching this show a long time ago. She treats the litigants with respect, unlike Rude Jude, I mean Judge Judy. You can also see that she actually knows what she's talking about. This show needs to be promoted more to let people know how much better it is now that she is on the bench. There are too many court shows on tv that should be cancelled, and People's Court is not one of them. Texas Justice is the biggest joke I have ever seen, it should be called Texas Injustice because it should be a crime to try and pass this off as reality television. Judge Marilyn Milian is a capable, caring, and confident judge, and I also think she is the prettiest judge that you'll ever see on tv. |

She really is sincere and listens to everyones side. Get rid of Judge Judy. She is rude and doesn't care. Judge Milian, on the other hand...she seems like someone everyone wants to know. She seems extremely down to earth and not conceited like some of the other judges on television. They seem to be in it for the money. Judge Milian deserves her title and surely worked hard to get where she is. Keep her on tv. Not only does she deserve it, we NEED her on tv! |

After a long thought out process, I want to become a judge, or anything close to that position. She is an awesome person. I think ratings are going down because no one knows about the show. It is not advertised enough. There needs to be more cases in her courtroom as well. All deal with the same subject, and not to say that it's not interesting, because it is. I am just saying that it's not her fault. She does a fabulous job and what I really like...is that she really knows what she is talking about. She doesn't pretend to know, like others. Now take the "Texas Judge", you can fire him. He isn't interesting at all, Judge Milian is the only one that should be on tv. |

We think she needs to go on some talk shows and entertainment shows. She needs some name recognition. Perhaps they should include her name in the show name, i.e. People's Court with Marilyn Milian. They need to get the ball rolling and the publicity will build from there. She needs to get into People Magazine and Us Magazine. This should not be that hard. But it is up to Judge Marilyn to get the ball rolling and be seen. |
