I agree with the Judge Judy comparison-completely!! I've written to the official website a number of times about firing her, but to no avail. It seems that are too many people with screws loose who actually like her! There are more fan sites on the Net than I care to mention. It makes me sick! And I agree with another's point of view listed here. Another annoying side to her is that she laughs at other people's misfortunes. And the last time I checked, you don't rudely call someone 30 years older than you, "honey" in a sarcastic (or any) manner. You treat them as if they were your mother or father. In my opinion, the show died when Judge Joseph Wapner and Rusty the Bailiff (God rest his soul) left. They were "The People's Court". This lady-she interrupts people and is just totally disrespectful. This may be construed as going too far, but I recently read about a case on the show with a lady who owned 4 bulldogs, I believe (I missed it, darnit!), and Milian ruled against her. Then, as the article read, the woman actually forged an alteraction between her and Ms. Flaunce-The-Robe in which she turned the dogs loose, intending for them to attack the judge. For what's it's worth, I wish "Douglass" (if that's his real name) hadn't stopped it and escorted the lady out of the courtroom. That's all I'm gonna say! |

I enjoy the after-trial comments in the hall, and the follow-up by Harvey Levin. I thoroughly enjoy this show just as it is -- not changing a thing would get my vote. Wake up, people. This is not a circus -- it's real law and justice. |

She makes the legally correct ruling, even when her sympathy is FOR the person she is ruling AGAINST, and she explains the legal reasons why she has to rule that way. It is amazing that she can be so hugely entertaining, and still teach us about legal realities at the same time. From her, I have learned genuinely useful things about steps to take to protect myself in a business transaction, and more! I don't like other judge shows where they rarely mention the actual law, they just make a subjective ruling. That gives a warped/untrue idea of what is legal, and that is a handicap in life. |

TV judges are hard to understand like the Texas judge, some of the shows are just jokes with people yelling at each other the entire time, and others are just not as entertaining as the People's Court! Keep up the good work Judge Milian! |

I think the show should stay on the air. I have been watching it ever since it started. I do think you should get rid of where it sais she is the "hottest judge on television". I think that isn't appropriate and shows disrespect. You should get better litigants as well. Curt Chaplin shouldn't be there. I don't see the need for him and Levin as well getting peoples point of views. Chaplin doesn't ask very good questions. |

She shows compassion, fairness, understanding and complete knowledge of the laws and judicial system. She teaches...she praises...she shows tough love. Also her smile is warm and real. In every courtroom across this country judges rule with their own ideas and prejudices. If it's not a bias against a certian race or color, it's a bias against a class of person (the jails are full of the poor because they can't afford good attorneys). The fastest growing bias is the one against males, due to the increase in feminist judges. This is reflected in the number of civil and human rights stripped from males (and their children) in recent years in 'Family Courts', all in the name of 'furthering' women's rights. The justice system is rife with bias and prejudices- always has been and always will be! It's as certain as death and taxes. |
| Posted By: granC Posted On: Jul 28, 2004 Views: 1581 | Judge Milian The problem with having court on TV is that it turns a judge into a trained performer, looking for shock value and ratings, rather than a voice of reason and knowledge of the law. I find Judge Milian to be very fair and wise, considering the forum. I never could stand Judge Judy because I feel her type are one of the major problems in REAL courts these days. She brings too much of her own bias into the courtroom, and I find myself wondering if it was the same when she presided in family court years ago. Her husband was more fair, but that's not "good TV". All these shows want to follow Jerry Springer, not the letter of the law. |
