A Yoruba person has nothing to lose with the present arrangement in Nigeria. In fact, the Yorubas are smiling all the way to the Bank at the misery of Easterners and Mid-Westerners while they use the Niger Delta resources to develop Lagos. That is why the Yorubas ganged up with the Hausa/Fulani against Ndigbo to ensure they get their hands on Niger Delta crude Oil. The next war in Nigeria would not be in the then Eastern region but in Northern and Western cities by citizens who have endured years of discrimination on the grounds of State of Origin, Native / Indigene against Settlers which has become a recursive occurrence in Jos.

To understand why Ndigbo need Biafra, you must go back to memory lane. The Census in the 1950s and the data available today indicate that the then Eastern region is the only region that has only marginally grown. There are more Igbos today living outside their Core States of South East and South South because of limited economic reward or incentive in the region despite the fact that the region produces over seventy five percent of Nigerian foreign earnings. The Oyibo (white man) in their 1952 Census classified citizens as per their ethnicity but the federal government has refused to do this because it would expose the hypocrisy in the so called “One Nigeria”.

Without the actualisation of Biafra, cities in the then Eastern region such as Calabar would become retirement city for Pensioners in the next century. Donald Duke is an enlightened ex-Governor who has just quit PDP because of federal government's lukewarm attitude to projects in the South East and South South. Tinapa would soon become another White Elephant and Easterners would continue to troop to Lagos and Abuja for common jobs as cleaners, sanitary workers, security guards etc.

Biafra would ensure that cities in the East would compete with Lagos and Abuja. Abuja was conceived as an administrative capital to ease congestion in Lagos but Northerners are gradually turning it into a commercial hub with resources from the Niger Delta. With poor Nigerian infrastructure, Easterners are forced to locate their businesses in the South West and the North to take advantage of the economies of scale which the South West and the North offer.

The North must be careful with their utterances with respect to President Jonathan. It is the norm in most civilised countries that the incumbent President is not challenged but re-nominated by their party. IBB, Atiku and their co-travellers are just wasting their time. Jonathan would return as the President after 2011 elections or the North should kiss bye-bye to One Nigeria. And for Jonathan, failure may mean remaining in exile in the North because he would certainly not be welcomed back to the South South without him always looking behind his back (from irate Niger Delta Citizens).

Re: a yoruba boy

I am happy to hear that your parents gave birth to you in the USA. Some of us on this forum were born after the war. For your information, after the Sept 11th attack in the year 2001, USA is still searching for Osama Bin Laden. Have you asked yourself why America continues to search for Osama Bin Laden? I will help you a little. Human life cannot be exchanged with even the costliest diamond in the world. We can never forget those that justified using hunger as weapon of war on innocent women and children until justice is done.

The Yoruba people that died during the war are military men that wanted to crush the Igbo nation into extinction. They did not die as a matter of using hunger as weapon of war on them.

As you can see, our father told us the truth about Nigerian history.

If your father is still alive, ask him more questions about Nigerian history when he is drunk. If he doesn’t drink, deceive him to get himself drunk. Chameleons can never tell you the truth until they are drunk.

He will surely tell you everything about Nigeria including why Biafran agitators continues to fight for their freedom until this day. He might be honest as well to tell you why he gave birth to you in the USA instead of Nigeria. Have you ever imagined why you pay higher taxes in the USA instead of in Nigeria where taxes are very low?

Until you learn all these, you will never understand why we agitate for Biafra.

biafra issue

i have seen some comments here (stanley o, etc). i was'nt around during the civil war but i can imagine it would have been horrible. i have a lot of igbo friends and i can tell u that, most igbos are good people so are yorubas, ijaws etc. the point is the time of war has ended ( no man is an island on his own even the usa had civil war) lets move on am sure some igbos to would have kiled some yorubas and other ethnic cultures.Forming biafra would start up another civil war, its not about tribe or 'my people'. speaking another language eg igbo does not mean am inferior to u. pls my brothers its time for peace. all we need is good governance and to end corruption in Nigeria. i was born in the usa but i am proud of my origin. we i finish uni am coming back to avoid brain drain.

IBB Urges FG To Investigate Air Crashes

Written by Uzochukwu obiekwe, Abuja
Friday, 18 June 2010 01:06

Former military head of state, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (Rtd), has called on the federal government to conclude its investigations and publish the report of the air crashes that occurred during the former President Obasanjo's era in order to enhance aviation safety.

The former military president made the call in Abuja during the launch of the book, “Aviation Systems, Planning and Operations, Blending Theory with Professional Practice - A Book Memoir” authored by Engr. Angus Ifeanyi Ozoka, former rector, Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria, Kaduna, and held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.

Gen. Babangida noted that the air crashes that occurred few years ago cost the country many of its notable citizens: intellectuals, business moguls and traditional rulers including the former, Sultan of Sokoto, as well as school children noting that measures should be taken to avert similar incidences in the future.

“We must therefore take all measures possible to avoid unnecessary loss of lives as recommended in the book. The investigations into the accidents should be concluded quickly so that the lessons learned can be applied to enhance aviation safety,” he said.

He commended the author for embarking on the literally work, "which will certainly benefit Nigeria and the international community.

-------------------------------------------------------------

This is a good point for EFCC to arrest this man because he felt he is too big to stand trial. Is he forgotten numerous Aircrash that happened durong his regime. What of Ejigbo Air disaster that Kill all top Millitary Brass.

IBB, IBB... stop playing with our intelligence. Please eat your loot and die in peace.

RE:THE NORTHERN MEETING

President Jonathan must stop dithering and act decisively as someone in power and not simply in government. What are these Northern elements up to?

Jonathan must equally realise that this is Africa and start showing that he is fully in-charge and in control. Meetings by Northern Elements may be regarded as treasonable (or Mutiny since it involves retired Generals of the Nigerian Army) crime since the meeting does not reflect the national Character. God knows what these guys are plotting?

Jonathan should reciprocate by playing the ethnic card. All Jonathan needs to do is to relocate temporarily to Port Harcourt and tell the World that his life is in danger by threats from Northern elements. He would receive sympathy (as an ethnic minority) from most Nigerians and the International Community. MEND and its associated militia groups would go on overdrive by threatening to make Nigeria ungovernable. President Goodluck would now use this as an excuse to declare a state of emergency and perhaps temporarily postpone the 2011 elections.

RE:THE NORTHERN MEETING

Because Nigeria is synonymous with Hausa/Fulani , and because Hausa/Fulani and what they believe is synonymous with terrorism and barbarism, all must tremble when Hausa/Fulani show any sign of discontentment.

Because we have the Yorubas who can't be trusted, Hausa/Fulani have a worthy subterranean corroborators and collaborators. Like SANMI observed, they are watching to know which side that will win so as to come out in the open to start condemning the lost side-smart isn't it?

Because i believe strongly that Yoruba will prefer to deal with Hausa/Fulani as long as Igbos remain in Nigeria, Hausa/Fulani will keep spitting fire...

The Yoruba will not accept to co-exist with Hausa/Fulani with the bait-Igbos- withdrawn.

No matter how many people who has lost focus kick against Biafra and our insistence on talking about what Nigeria-Hausa/Fulani, Yoruba and our brothers from the South-South-did to Igbos, we MUST continue to do so until it dawns on them they are fighting a lost battle.

I do not expect the Northern Meeting to be any eye opener to this class of people I have just referred to. They are blind to reality.

In Abuja, there exist buildings, and Halls of such buildings bearing names of criminals such as Atiku Hall etc. Who and who determine how these names are assigned to what is supposed to belong to all Nigerians, eludes me. Therefore, since Hausa/Fulani see Nigeria as theirs, the interest of the North is taken to represent interest of all Nigerian. Is anybody complaining?

President Jonathan must remain calm. He must work towards fixing the skewed system established by the Hausa/Fulani soldiers for the interest of Nigeria. If Nigeria attains enviable height-i hear- before Biafra emerges, that's good for everybody.

Let the North, consequent upon president Jonathan's cleaning up of the system, champion the call for dissolution of Nigeria.

In working to correct the system-difficult because this is not a military regime-president Jonathan must derail from tradition. If he has sense, he should know what to do.

SUPER EAGLES, WHAT A SHAME!

It is a pity that the expectations of all Nigerians towards the National Team, Super Eagles, may soon hit the rock. This is due the way they were beaten mercilessly by Greece in their secon-leg match. In my opinion, it's high time to sack all these players who only carry "BIG NAMES" abroad, but toothless lions back home here. Thus, let all nooks and crannies of Nigeria be searched for the in fuse of fresh blood into the team.

More glance at the situation

In other parts of the world, people go to school to change their society to better. In Nigeria, people go to school to exacerbate the worse situation they found themselves.

Everyday, things gets from bad to worse in Nigeria.

Nevertheless, we have seen how who presides on the affairs of over 150 million coerced citizens of Nigeria is instigating pandemonium in the hierarchy of power. Just yesterday, over 150 deluded northern statesmen in their senility converged to strategize on how to dethrone Goodluck Jonathan. The funniest part of it is that as the meeting was going on, Kaitha was also doing what he knows best in the field of football. Can you blame him or them? (Like father like son).

What is going on today is Nigeria is for the best interest of those with eyes but cannot see. Those with ears but cannot hear. Those with mouth but cannot speak. Those with hands but cannot write. Those with legs but cannot walk into their freedom. Those with nose but cannot smell the pollution on the air. God gave these instruments to men so that they will use it to improvise and exploits the earth to their benefits. In other parts of the world, these instruments helped them to build a paradise on earth while in Nigeria; people are expecting a new heaven from the horizon of the Sun. (Keep waiting until the hour of your miserable lives).

Very soon the North will succeed Jonathan. For sure, they are coming back to correct their mistake of the past. For a southerner to identify some of these mistakes is the beginning of wisdom.

The people from the South that continues to sabotage the quest for a Sovereign state of Biafra will one day cry more than the Bifran agitators in Nigeria today. Meanwhile, have a nice day in your fools’ paradise.

Nigerian football, we never learn from our mistakes. Our first match with the Agts, the starting was bull****, most of the players started with should be on the bench. A player like Martins, Obinna, Obasi and Osaze should be in the first eleven kicking off the match, we have good players but the problem was that they were not used well by our Swedish coach forgeting that we are in the Wold Cup, not some kind friendly match!. In the case of Sani Kaita, i think he disgraced himself even the way he walked out of the pitch face-covered would tell you that.
And Nigeria should re think about the issue of employing forign coaches. Coaches from Saouth Americas should be considered or we have somebody like Amokachi and Steven Keshi they are good choice for that and would do better..
