Dimeji Bakare

Stanley O

Can you tell us what this guy has done for Nigeria that is so great? It is ok to show up on the job everyday and play politics. Steal money and send your wife and kid to live in Ghana. Flying back and fourth with Nigeria money. Even the people from his state said he is no good. How much is he paying you to praise him, but make no sense.

Re:Jonathan as OBJ's 3rd term ambition...

What do you expect from an opposition AC man? He is not in the PDP and has no business on how OBJ as BOT runs PDP.

Jonathan is/was only doing what Yar'Adua failed to do. Ribadu should have been retired immediately he ceased to chair EFCC. It violates protocol for Ribadu to rejoin mainstream Nigerian Police.

The 2011 presidency election is already in the bag for Jonathan. He can only lose it. The advantage of incumbency is there and we live in Africa where votes counts very little. IBB has gone a bit quiet since Jonathan ascended the presidency. IBB is not a fool and is fully aware of the consequences if he tries to torpedo the President's ambition. Jonathan would simply "blow him out of the water" and IBB's interests would come under public scrutiny.

Bankole Dimeji My Man

I don't know why people derive pleasure in rubbishing other people's name. Dimeji Bankole is a vibrant young man working tirelessly to better the life of every person(including his own)in Nigeria. When will Nigerians show gratitude for selfless service?

For those who are merely concerned about Nigeria and her progress, please be vigilant; else, your "concern" may turn to "frustration"(your new baptismal name then becomes "frustrated Nigerian man"). And from frustration, if you are not careful, you'll slip into a psychopath- new aka, "psychopathic Nigerian man. There are quite many of such names to select from-hehe.

I dreamt last night. I live today, my dreams of yesterday. With Nigerians, there are no dreams, no vision, no mission. Usually, 'Allah kawo, Allah ya doki-whatever'

Somebody should better warn those frustrated reps who want to undermine Bankole's efforts to move Nigeria forward.

Where is Jide Afo nsi gi aka? Am I not vibrating...?

...very tick! O yes.

As we dream of “Biafra”, keep dreaming of “One Nigeria” as well. We shall see who is right at the end of the tunnel. Meanwhile, nobody asked for your advice or comments on Biafra. When you mind your business, the pangs in your conscience will disappear without spending money on medication.

On Bank-ole

THE leadership of the House of Representatives, on Thursday, said it would not allow the House to be destabilised and told the group opposed to the Speaker, Honourable Dimeji Bankole, that “enough is enough.”

It said it had for so long restrained itself from applying the rod against members whose activities, it stressed, had been inimical to the stability of the House, noting that the leadership believed in the spirit of camaraderie among its members, a reason it had overlooked security reports against erring members.

STABILITY!!FUNNY WORDS.IS NIGERIA A STABLE STATE?DO WE PREFER STABILITY AND CURRUPTION TO GOOD GOVERNMENT?MY QUESS IS THAT THOSE REP SHOULD SHUT UP THEIR DIRTY MOUTH AND IMPEACH THE MOST CORRUPT AND SLOWEST SPEAKER NIGERIA HAS EVER HAD.BANK-OLE SHOULD BE JAILED FOR HIS EMBEMSLEMENT AND INACTION WHEN NIGERIA WAS AT CROSS ROAD REGARDING YARADUA.EVERY BILL THAT WILL MAKE NIGERIA A BETTER NATION HAS OFTEM BEEN SWEPT UNDER THE CARPET BY THIS CROOK.

NIGERIA SHOULD RISE UP AND ASK THE MAN TO QUIT AND FACE THE CRIMINAL CHARGES AGAINST HIM.

ON JONATHAN,I WILL ADVISE HIM NOT TO CONTEXT IN THE FORTH COMING ELECTION BECAUSE IF HE WINS,HE WILL NEVER GET THE SUPPORT OF THE PEOPLE.SINCE HE HAS BEEN IN POWER,6 MONTHS,CAN SOMEONE POINT ANY OF HIS ACHIEVEMENT?NONE.I AM SURE HE WILL BE ANOTHER WEAK AND USELESS PRESIDENT LIKE YARADUA.WE DON'T NEED SUCH PRESIDENT AT THIS TIME.ARE WE NOT TIRED OF MOVING BACKWARD?WHY ACCUMULATING MONEY YOU CAN'T SPENT ALL YOUR LIFE?THAT IS A MENTAL ISSUE.JONATHAN,GO AND REST.

Jonathan as OBJ's 3rd term ambition...

On account of his closeness to Obasanjo, Nuhu Ribadu soon became swollen headed, arrogant and haughty. He personalised the assignment. It is still fresh in memory some occasions past when he boasted as the 2007 elections closed in, that many of the aspirants would not be allowed to contest on account of damning reports that were in the custody of the EFCC! That many of them would run “helter skelter, and from pillar to post” in fruitless efforts to evade arrest and prosecution by the EFCC!!

As his reward, former President Obasanjo accelerated his promotion from Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) to Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG). Yet Nigeria was not in a military coup situation where an uncommissioned coup-leader Master-Sergeant could catapult himself to the rank of full Army General! That fiat-promotion instantly elicited demoralisation of erstwhile senior officers that were superior to Nuhu Ribadu, more in the Police but also in the other services!

Along the line, and in order to arrest the sagging morale among Officers, late President Yar’Adua cancelled all the unjustifiable promotions earlier done by Generral Obasanjo before he left office. This affected Nuhu Ribadu who was reverted to his substantive rank of ACP. Feeling deflated, he never for one day wore his police uniform as a substantive ACP. So, at his graduation from the NIPSS, he breached protocol when he appeared in suit instead of his uniform!
After graduation, he was posted to a Police Command where his duty required that he wore his Police uniform to work. Once again, he violated the norm. He thus opened the vista for his discipline, at the end of which he was dismissed from service.

Later, the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) took him to court for violating his oath by not declaring his assets while in office as EFCC Chairman. Few days ago, the Attorney General of the Federation filed nolle prosequi in court for discontinuation of the trial, in questionable and dishonourable exercise of his prerogative, not minding the implication of his action that President Goodluck Jonathan’s government had embarked on condonment of corruption! Some thirty-six hours after, President Jonathan reportedly ordered the IGP to reinstate the AIG rank of Nuhu Ribadu, and convert his dismissal to retirement with full benefits!.

With this restoration in place, the other “rumours” have been given potency. One is that Nuhu Ribadu is being considered for appointment as Special Adviser to the President, to superintend over the ICPC and the EFCC.
Haba! Does President Jonathan realise that he has a duty to sustain the morale of all the Officers in the Police?

When he was Vice President, did he see Nuhu Ribadu’s travails as persecution, instead of insubordination? Must President Jonathan be remotely controlled by General Obasanjo to restore all the misdeeds (of Obasanjo’s government) which were corrected by late President Yar’Adua? Can Nigeria afford to have Nuhu Ribadu in charge of both the ICPC and EFCC, after his inglorious stint as a remotely controlled witch-hunting EFCC Chairman who violated his oath of office?
In truth, is what is staring us in the face not a third term presidency by remote control for General Obasanjo?

• Chief Funso Ologunde is the Assistant State Publicity Secretary, Action Congress, Lagos State

Kudos chief Ologunde for telling the truth. A word is enough for the wise.

What attractions are there in present day Nigeria that make demand for Biafra unnecessary. Let me tell you this: the demand for Biafra may have been what you classified it to be had it been that one thing, yes one thing, is functioning effectively in Nigeria. Not even your football that takes the attention of many Nigerians when there are more serious things to do.

In any case, you followed the footsteps of many who are lost as to what solution to apply to Nigeria. Without asking where the benefit of the hands we joined previously to build Nigeria went, self styled one Nigeria enthusiasts normally ask the rest of us to join hands and build Nigeria. No!

Build Nigeria if you can. Come and chop no be the same with come and work.

Why would any body want to blame Dimeji Bankole for working to build a better Nigeria? Look, you guys are simply getting everything wrong. Dimeji Bankole is the right man for Nigeria.

My Biafran brothers in this forum, allow these freshers's energy to fizzle out. Soon, they will go flat discussing and proffering solution to Nigeria problem in the usual holier than thou manner.

Re: Reps give Bankole 7 days ultimatum to resign..

'“We were glad that the EFCC has sent the report of the N2.3 billion car scam to their legal department, although we quarrel with the delay. We realise that they concluded that investigation a year ago. We crave the leadership of the EFCC to quicken action on it. Because Nigerians are waiting for justice, we knew it long time ago that although the leadership was indicted, but for many reasons, the EFCC was sleeping on duty. But now that they have woken up, we were to welcome them.

“We have set the machinery in motion to ask for an order of mandamus to compel them to do a public duty because it is no use fighting the war on corruption on the pages of newspapers. There can be no better place of corruption than what happened in the N2.3 billion scam. If I may ask, what did Etteh do? “She tried to get anticipatory approval to make an expenditure which was quarrelled with, and described as “anti-morality” and we forced her to throw in the towel,” he concluded.'

It's been a long wild party with corrupt Dimeji Bankole;

Tell me what this man has achieved in office other than buying 7 bullet-proof cars and other corrupt practices!

When the nation was looking for legislative leadership during late Yar'Adua's lacuna, he disappeared from the scene, only to resurface when Dora Akunyili boldly told the nation the direction to take!

Why is Bankole occupying the seat of speaker in the first place?

Ironically, the man Mr. Eseme who's defending Bankole, is also defending the disgraced ex speaker, Mrs Ette!

PDP zoning is a child of "federal character"

As pointed out by Ogboku, my pal, this noble forum should be devoted to proferring solutions to the hydra-headed problems of Nigeria rather than waste of words and time on frivolities, let alone name-calling. We must not chase rats when our house is on fire!

Nigeria is the only country where ethnic considerations supersede palpable excellence. Too bad! It is only in Nigeria that a child gains university admission with 30% score while his counterparts remains at home with 90% pass, all in the name of "federal character"! It is only in Nigeria that a primary school teacher is drafted to head experienced P.hD degree holders as Federal Permanent Secretary, all in the name of "federal character". No country survives by relegating excellence, qualification and experience and we know it!

I have nothing to do with PDP zoning arrangement, as it is unconstitutional and retrogrative. However, I don't care if a northerner becomes the next president, provided he emerges via a free and fair election and is not one of the known currupt and empty past leaders, like IBB, Buhari, among others.

I thank you Ugu Ugo

Yes, My good brother Ugu Ugo, I thank you very much for accepting my apology as a blood brother and we move forward looking for ways to solve a common problem which we both acknowledged concerning mostly the Igbo cause and good governance in Nigeria.

As I said earlier this forum should serve as an interaction lane for airing views and providing solutions. But it at times we fail short of the motives of this provisions. For example you see how somebody lashed at Mr. Nwosu just for exercising his human right to self expression and calling him names, that is not right anyway.

What we are all trying to avoid is bloodbath which we foresaw and which is fast approaching, but an adage said "to be fore warned is to be fore armed". The south should not throw decency to the winds because at the end of the day, we will start shouting of Northern domination. Because as Mr Nwosu said the north might eventually decides to rule this country for the next 40 years because they will tell you they have the best brains for the leadership at each election campaigns. We must be very wise enough to identify this strategy as a means to knoch out the Igbos out of the political mainstream of this country and the people pressing this button are very very intelligent, and their main aim is to confine us to the dustbin forever.

The people behind this scheme knows, that if eventually fire breaks out the Igbos in dispora will bear the consequences. As Nwosu rightly said the current president is a good hard working man, but he has no political structure, and will never be a match to IBB. I am not imposing IBB on the nation but at least, the painting is faulty and the truth is the north should complete their human right, if this is not done, no right will be implemented again in this nation as there will always be a violation of individual and collective rights.
