I am so delighted

A wild card entrant, Sania Mirza ousted US Open champion Svetlana Kuznetsova (fourth seeded) with a 6-4 6-2 win in the second round of the Dubai Open women tennis championship and moved into the quarterfinal.

What a great victory? Go Sania, go!

Dr. Manish Kumar

Are you the same old fake Dr. Manish, a chameleon? In that case, this forum is not for you. For, we are not alwyays gentle and delicate in our arguments. In facts, arguments are supposed to be heated. This might breat your delicate heart and put you in depression. Then you will need bigger than ever supply of liquor. Mind you, all of the above are your own descriptions. Be careful, what you trade.

Oh ! Rahul

Had Congress (or Sonia) contested 10 seats only and won all, then you would have called her biigest winner.

It reminds me a story :

A 6' mathematics teacher was going with his 5' tall son, and they were to cross a river. The mathematician aplied his skill and arrived to conclusion that average depth of river was 4' so it was absolutely safe to cross the river. While crossing the river his son was drowned (because the depth was more than 5' at 1 place) and the teacher survived. After crossing the river, the teacher was not shocked for the fact that he lost his son but was busy figuring out where his math went wrong.

Let us keep talking about solutions.

Election

Whatever, you call it but if my memory is correct congress contested 80+ seats (which were especially selected by her - with high probability to win) in Bihar and won only 10?

Election

Reading information available, it appears that arrogance, greed and self confidence of Sonia spoiled the party in Bihar. Did she win big in Bihar and Jharkhand?

I guess she irritated Laloo too much when she formed alliance in Jharkhand without consulting Laloo first. Then she showed guts to demand too many seats in Bihar, just to win 10 seats (double digit). Almost 40 years rule of Congress in Bihar is the cause of its sorry state today.

Nawin Babu :

Normally in our daily life, we believe "Apne ghar me tala lagate hai.n, chor ke ghar me nahi".

But in our public life, we have to work on 2 things:

1) Criminals don't fight elections at all (chor ke ghar me tala lagana)

2) MLAs and MPs should not get so much immunity from the system (so that criminals don't get any advantage of being MP, MLA)

Asking people to vote will work when people feel integrated to the system. ( we don't have Gandhi jee who once inspired all to come out of house, or people don't think it a strong enough cause).

Nawin Babu, you are wrong in saying that "you guys are not going to make any difference by just discussing here on Internet".

Before any concrete things happen, lot of discussions precede it. Discussions help us in refining our thoughts which help us in our field life and that way we contribute in a better manner. Sometimes it is discussion only which inspire us.

Let us keep discussing about solutions.

Deep :

Which state you belong to ?? (Don't answer in terms of state in US.)

Whatever state in India you belong to, You will forget counting once you start counting criminals and politicians of your state.

Remember Senior Police officers IPS and IAS working in you state mostly belong to my state Bihar. Be thankful to Bihar.

I feel Laloo is only fair

He put pressure on Sonia that she shud order the governor to Invite Rabri Devi to form govt and she shud be given atleast 4 weeks to prove majority on the floor because CM Rane of Goa got 8 weeks to prove majority. He did not forget to mention that no CM ever got 8 weeks to prove majority - his leverage (lathi) point.

Dr. Manish Kumar :

I agree that so called leaders across parties are worst animals on the planet earth. But in democracy, somehow they have become indispensable.

We desperately need political reforms in India. And obviously these leaders are least interested in that.

Meanwhile due to economic-reform (thank to non-political entity called Manmohan Singh), our dependecy on them are greatly reducing day by day in our daily practical life. They are no more our mai-baap.

Politicians are getting panicked also. They are running short of issues like they will provide telephone, health, electricity, etc.. (as we have started getting all these from pvt. sectors).

We should be very alert not to let desperate politicians exploit us on emotional lines (religion, region, castes etc.).

Let us keep talking about solutions.

To :Prabhat Sinha

Sorry I am back again. Also thanks for your nice comment that my knowledge about democracy is limited.
I cordially appreciate you as you not only discuss on net but also at tea stall and may be in public. I also know that freely and healthy discussion is important in democracy. But this is my strong opinion that all these discussion should involve the mass. Not only a group of 20-25 persons sitting at different corner of world and writing freely. Do you mean this is the only responsibility of a person for his country or state?
I was fortunate to see an election in India. I guess it was 95 and luckily I was at my parental village in Nalanda. I was surprised to see the members voting there. Not a single woman from so-called civilized family went to vote, and in contrast I saw the family members of a particular class supporters of a RJD candidate (who had a criminal history) going in groups. And as the result declared all those civilized person were shouting that all criminals are winning. What a stupidity! How the hell a person can win if you are not giving vote in your total strength.
Again it is my strong thinking that you guys are not going to make any difference by just discussing here on Internet. No matter how freely and healthy is your discussion. You have to be in the system to change the system.

change in bihar

ultimately, finally and convincingly, people of Bihar have given the mesage that no one of these so called leaders who are no better than any one of the voters are fit to rule. my repeated statement that these are inefficient, have been proved by each and every voter of Bihar combined together.
last election itself it was there but now it has become more than clear no leader is trusted by majority of the people.
it is time for the leaders and their pleader to think and act to bring some sense, sincerety and sensitivity to their deeds.

Hamare neta

Statesman News Service
NEW DELHI, Feb. 27. — Politicians’ private lives entered the public domain when a TV channel today telecast video tapes, purportedly of two MLAs from Bihar, caught in compromising positions with call girls.
India TV, which telecast the video tapes, said hidden cameras caught RJD MLA Mr Nawal Kishore Rai, a former JD-U MP, and Anwaraul Haque of the LJP, who had earlier been in the BJP too, in the act. The channel said the expose was part of its attempt to reveal the hypocrisy of politicians and their sleazy private lives as people deserved to know whom they were voting for.
