US may have elected office-assistants (peons in India) but their ministers (secretaries) are not elected by people - just like our Prime Minister MM Singh is not elected. Technically, even Vice-president is not elected, no wonder 90% americans can't recall the name of US Vice-President. But certainly, I don't see the role of Governors and President. I would like to know the UK system, if they have dummy governors like ours. I know Queen is dummy top head of UK like our president. Prashant Bhai is our UK expert here. |

How can a country be democracy when it is ruled by same family for 50 years (this is not to speak ill of Nehru-Indira Gandhi family). Historians call it Monarchy in different form. Even Musharaff got 99% vote in the election he conducted to be ruler. |

Governor of Goa has some new plans, you may read in a day or so, to protect himself and disqualify two BJP MLAs. Future King, Rahul Ji is on dharna against the "murder of democracy", in the Parliament. That is why I support the view of Poonam Deedee that management of Bihar times should include news articles from Pioneer, Rediff, Outlook etc., to show the other side of the story and be balanced. |

But people challenged her election in Allahabd court due to large scale fraud. Before her goons could make plaintiffs disappear from the earth, Allahabd High Court made her election illegal on the basis of proof of fraud and irregulrity, which forced her to declare emergency. Hence, Indira Gandhi was not responsible for emergency. It was slow working of her/Sanjay goons, which are responsible for emergency and aftermath (here you again "math"). |
