RE-TRAGEDY OF PRETENSE

My comment is a reaction to Jide Afolabi's comments about Ibo's denial of their identity and their inability to speak with a common voice when it matters most.My view is that the youngman is right in his observation and comments and any reasonable Ibo man should be worried by these truths. That the truth is told by a yoruba man does not make it less true. The yoruba nation may have their own problems like every other tribe but that is left for them to sort out.Truth is bitter but realizing and accepting it is the first step towards addressing whatever is the issue. The nature of my job has made me interract with a lot of Ibos outside the southeast who shamelessly deny their ibo identity. This has often made me feel very bad and to wonder what could be the cause.could it be because of the outcome of the civil war?would the situation have been the same if we had not fought the civil war? Will having a questionable identity or denying their identity increase their acceptance, help them get jobs or just what??I dont need to be told that the effect of the civil war is still affecting the perception and general attitude towards the ibos till today but denying our identity will not make the situation any better. We must accept our identity boldly and courageously anywhere and at anytime. The Ikwere, kwale,Etche,Ika and even some core easterners who deny their identity only make themselves laughing stocks and will be denied by whoever they identify with when the chips are down.Let us remember that a house that is divided against itself cannot stand. If what i read about ojukwu regarding IBB's ambition is true, then its quite a shame and very dissapointing.I agree that he is entitled to his opinion but a person like him should not consider his personal opinions without considering people around him and what he means to them.Is he looking for recognition or what. What will IBB offer Nigerians that younger people cannot offer.Meanwhile i am still expecting a book by him on his personal account of the civil war.About our values,i think the Ibos need to address this issue of "Igbo enweghi EZe".Our utter disregard for age, wisdom and constituted authority in favour of wealth not minding how it is acquired is disgusting. We cannot thrive politically with this kind of culture. We have experimented it for a number of years in Nigeria now and seen that it is not taken us anywhere.Nobody takes us serious.A wealthy notherner for instance can easily buy off your brother and use him to check you politically. It is hightime we realized that everything is not all about money. Most Ibos are christians so i refer us to the bible to go and confirm that kingdoms and nations had rulers and kings whom they were loyal to.There is an addage that says that "from the smell of flatus, you can imagine the taste of faeces".My people,we should organize our house.Ana esi n'ulo mara mma puo naama.Charity begins at home.If we cant organize ourselves while we are still part of Nigeria,I dont want to imagine what it will be like in biafra.Perhaps when we have looked inward and repaired some of our values, then our denying bothers may be proud to re-identify with us. The ibo leaders of thought should look into these issues. One final advice:I rather think we should be more diplomatic about this Biafra issue while we are still in Nigeria.I dont believe we want independence more than the yoruba people for instance but their approach is a bit different. The way we go about it only creates mistrust and denies our sons and daughter's some sensitive positions in the Nigerian Government.A few examples:You are clamouring for Biafra everyday and yet you want your son to contest for presidency in Nigeria and win.You want him to be appointed chief of Army staff.I tell you some people will make sure you dont get near sensitive positions even if you are the most qualified.I wouldn't allow you either if i was in their shoes.DIPLOMACY.(Its my personal opinion any way)

WORLD CUP PREPARATIONS

How much does the Hotel make as profit per annum for Nigeria to be fined $125,000.0 for breach of contract? No court will award such a cost in South Africa.
Lagerback should watch out for injuries and physical fitness among the invited players as most of them with injuries will dodge training in order to feature in the World cup.He should meet the players one on one and collectively to know the team's problem as the players themselves know their problems and will not speak until they are asked.

OPEN LETTER TO GOVN AKPABIO OF AKWA IBOM STATE.

dear sir, thank you so much for the many projects executed by your government, specially the renovation of all primary schools in the state, and car advances to workers in the state.
But sir, may i humbly ask why this benevolence has not touched the primary school teachers, not even the Headmasters of schools. It is observable that the Akwa Ibom State government is pushing the primary schools to the Local government administration. But the truth about the whole thing is that, we of the primary schools, we are serving the same government, the same state and the same populace.
I wish our dear governor do include primary school teachers in the car loan budget.

BANKS IN NIGERIA

There are still many crooks in the Nigerian Banking system that should be fished out.
The Banks are every day being filled with customers who are at their mercy as they can take anything charge at will.
The surprising thing is that despite their huge transactions they still cut salaries and allowances at will and sack workers at will.
The monetisation thing have made them to contract most of their employment jobs to wicked agencies that do not pay a living wage to staff. The Federal Government does not care a hoot because it is also engaged in this evil act.

The Ekiti Election Tribunal

It still baffles me why such a simple case is still being dragged up till this moment.
The chief electoral officer of Ekiti State who presided as the chief umpire of the process refused to sign the result of the election and telling the whole world that the election results were flawed.I don't think the woman was drunk the day she addressed the press.
She later went into hiding and came out to say she has signed the result and telling other party(Action Congress) to carry its problem to the court.
This action of hers is an"after thought"which I feel is not allowed in law. So the case of a flawed elections should be upheld.I should be corrected if I am wrong to think this way by lawyers.

THE NEW RAILWAY LINES UNDER CONSTRUCTION.

The Federal Government likes throwing away Nigeria's money into the Atlantic ocean. How on earth did they reach the decision to spend millions of Dollars to replace the old lines.
Tilting trains which run from Washington to New York to Boston are designed to travel safely at very high speeds of over 200KM/Hour on rail tracts which were built for slower conventional trains such as the ones in Nigeria. Each car is tilted by hydraulic actuators mounted on the trucks. The money given to the Chinese to construct a new line would have constructed a second line for safety.
The only problem our rail system had was speed and the Nigerian Railway Corporation Engineers should have made their research to solve this problem.
The Federal Government are throwing away money that would have been used for the payment of unemployment benefits and job seekers allowance.I would not blame them due to the fact that the government does not give a damn whether Nigerians are employed or not as they don't foot this bill.

On Gerald's "Demonization" And "Sentiments"

Since this is a public forum, am glad.

Now Gerald, your sermons are stretching into the night. What do you want?

So far, I have picked two words that interest you most. "demonize" and "sentiment".

Sentiment:

Repeatedly, you referred to what people write here as sentimental effusion. Granted, your right to advertise a lofty image of yourself is unalienable. But more often than not, some people usually cobble together words to suggest that they are "more mature"(ooops!, I thought maturity is maturity)than others whom they target to criticize. The word "sentiments", "intelligence" often feature in such expressions. In addition, these words appear too when some people are either reluctant to answer or lack answers to questions raised by others.

Since others, not you or your ethnic kinsmen, are sentimental(I will prove you right or wrong shortly), here are some questions revolving around what we have been writing here.

What are the sentiments in these:

That late Awolowo gave out 20 pounds after the war to all Igbos despite our huge deposits in the bank?Haven't you read about it?
That Awolowo approved the starvation of Igbo women and children?
That Nigeria refused to build good roads in the south east?
That Obasanjo played politics with something as important as building a new Niger Bridge head? That Yoruba nation kept shut in the face of the huge sum said to have been approved for constructing another bridge head but was not used. What is the sentiment in asking where the money went? If Obasanjo weren't a Yoruba, won't Yorubas talk?
That Obasanjo massacred women and children in Odi, yet he is still found in corridors of power after his tenure. The Yorubas are not talking, but are talking in the case of IBB.

The list will be long should I continue. So what are the sentiments about these known events when we talk about them. But are these events not enough to raise sentiments, if that is what you mean(which I doubt)?

Now lets see if you have been unsentimental. Here are your words:
Oh sorry!

IBB would be giggling his heads off right now at the way some blind Igbos are courting him!!

Go on IBB! Give 'em the cash! That's what it takes!!!!!

Did you sound sentimental here? Yes you did. So you are stupid, can't you see?

Demonization:

Your first taste of what demonization feels like probably came from what you think of our write ups here. You did not know what if feels to be demonized, goon? Igbo right after the war, are continuously demonized till date. You are probably one of those demonizing Igbos.

Did you recall one Yoruba woman government functionary(either a minister of state or another thing so called government functionary) who publicly announced to Nigerians and the world that Igbos should settle for trading instead of expressing interest in the highest office of the land? If Yorubas are as educated and civilized as they wrongly ascribe to themselves, they ought to have demanded for the woman's resignation for disgracing the Yoruba with such uncouth statement. But no, Yorubas did not talk. What was the woman's utterance intended to achieve? Yes, to demonize Igbos as incapable of anything except running around the market place.

What can be more demonizing than that majority of Igbo youths are refused employment based on their ethnic origin?

You may shut up if you don't have anything more to write. You don't know what demonization is.

You cannot stop voices here demanding for justice and independence. Others before you attempted. They thought they can by adopting the "crying more than the bereaved" style of the Yorubas. If Yorubas are wise, and are interested in building a strong nation with Ndi-Igbo, what we say here would have been an eye opener to the effect that lessons would be learnt by all and sundry.

I want to repeat again that Igbos will not fight again in this process of seeking for our freedom. We are not pleading with Nigeria to grant us freedom. We are demanding they do so.If you keep frustrating our efforts to freedom then you, your brothers, and the rest of Nigerians will never stop lamenting of being Nigerians. Go and mark these words and today's date.

I think I know who you are though. As I said before, if you don't have anything to write about, write about lagerback and Nigerian football and enjoy the folly.

Eagles: back to square one!

Nigeria is a typical black monkey nation: no vision, planlessness, confusion, lack of ideas, nepotism, eleventh hour rush and mago mago, etc!

The sacked Amodu is back and flexing muscles, although you don't blame him because the 30-man squad list submitted by Lagerback are all his boys! Better players have been schemed out for the same old tired Eagles mafia!

Lagerback now sees reason to blame any failure on NFF and Amodu, who now wants to become the chief coach! What a confusion!!!

The new minister of sports, Alhaji Bio, took off with cartons of confusion! He knows absolutely nothing about sports!!! He has been complicating matters for the Eagles new bench.

For some months now it's been all confusion, confusion and confusion in the Eagles camp!

Lagerback has allowed himself to be used and manipulated. He's joined the NFF favoritism group.

There will be a colossal failure for this confused mafia of tired Eagles and their handlers.

What a confused bunch!!!!

Bankole flays corporation prostitution in banks

Thank God for such a good remark by our dear speaker. When take a holistic view concerning what is going on in the banking sector one will not allow his or her sisters or relatives work in the bank. The quest of meeting target have give wings to high time prostitution among the ladies used as marketers (prostitude). I happened to discussed with one girl who i believed to be one marketer of one bank. She said: though the pay is interesting but she don't want to continue. Adding that she has been selling her body to attract DEPOSITORS of some who will promise and later refuse after he has gotten what he wanted. She also stated of quitting the job and look for mini job. What a none sense. This is a threat on human right. It must be stopped. I think the fine is not much. Let fine a lasting solution to protect the life of the citizens specially the young generation. God bless Nigeria

Ezinwanne!

I'm from Mars!

I repeat, you've passed the level of mudslinging! If you're provoked, don't go straight for the jugular! Don't demonize everyone from a tribe simply because of one or two persons sentimental comments!
