You're wrong!

A new leader could be pardoned for mistakes and missteps, Mr man; not for die-hard, old, yellow-toothed, mediocre dictators! The mistakes this time around were not just few, but piles and piles of them. Do not defend anyone who takes you for granted, loots your treasury, and calls you a big fool!!

Nigerians, Pls Appreciate

Whenever I read or hear people say Obasanjo's 8 years rule was a waste, I begin to wonder where they have left sense of good judgement. If we did not die during those 8 years, it then means something good was happening alongside some anomalies. It is therefore wrong for them to right off obasanjo's achievements simply because there few mistakes with here and there.

A’Ibom Pulls Out Of Refinery Project

This was disclosed at a meeting to appraise government's effort at industrialising and promoting investments in the state. Apart from this usual disaster, what has government achieved in eight years?

Demolition: Obasanjo Apologises to Ali

That the demolition was a mistake or being the PDP chairman, he couldn't have run foul of the law?

Now, with the peremptoriness of a military command, apologise to all others whose houses were demolished.

they should all mind their statement.nigerians are no longer a stupid, fighting for them while they kept their kids and all their family members abroad.nobody is ready to die for fun.they should keep quiet or the wrath of God Almighty will fall on all of them that want nigeria to fall.
they should note that nobody has monopoly of wisdom.they have been in the same system before now.is it their birth right?

past elections in nigeria

Hello,
its with absolute shame & anger, that our country (NIGERIA)with obasonjo, iwu, ehindoro(police)can actually open there mouths to tell the world, that there was any elections, when there was NONE,PLS...e.g In bayelsa state, the election was done in the government house, with goodluck jonathan, silva, ebebi, and the rest of p.d.p,officials in gaurd with the police,so how on earth did they get the results?because we went round the city(yenagoa)and other areas alike ,but we were dismayed that nothing was happing that day,yet they said elections took place ,If they say bayelsa has 1.7mpersons,what was the figure @every l.g.a,then minus every ward, then give me or us the results, you will find out that the level of intimidations was too much that every one was in doors. The much talk about mr V.P(JONATHAN)that the militants tried to kidnap him ,is the biggest lie of my time cos the only came to remove one of there own from the police custody, not government house as reported.Mr v.p has not gotten to the villa & he has started lieng, how can a man of his level @ this age lie to the same people who fought hard to put his dawn lieng ace there with the strenght of rigging?

RE:Nigeria must move forward

If Nigeria is moving foward everybody, especially, patriots like some of us in this forum would have been very happy and contribute to move our fatherland foward but unfortunately Nigeria is moving backwards and from the look of things, will go on regressing to its collapse or disintegration. In the history of nations, no nation has survived from a system based on aristocracy and ethnocentricity.Nations with these anomalies always have political impasse and a consequent disintegration after a serious conflict.Check out - Ethiopia, Ruanda,Burundi, Ugoslavia, Soviet Union.

John Oweife

Power comes from God and not from Man -By John Oweife.

Man should not have voted then since power comes from God not from man. Or there is no need for an election since God is the king maker.I am beginning to sense that religious delusion of Africans or nigerians makes them lose the reality of life , logical reasoning and its application to advance their lives in general as social beings.

This religious delusion in nigerians as a result of intensive systematized brain washing by religious gold diggers is more cancerous to our collective progress than bad leadership, ethnocentrism and corruption.

Conduct of April polls

I wish to declare that i am personally satisfied with the last presidential election not because Yar'adua is from the north but because of the monumental dovelopment made in his state and the transparent and accountable ways of handling task payers money in katsina; in deed he is one of the few good leaders in nigeria.

Why govt is unable to create new jobs, by minister

That the Federal Government could not create jobs has been attributed to the slow progress in the power sector reform, etc. is one of the dumbest things one has heard from this administration. The fact remains that the president and his team lack the intellectual capacity for their job and do not appreciate brilliant minds. This is why the cabinet and corridors of power are packed full of mediocres. Job creation is really not the business of government. Rather, its responsibility is creating a conducive environment for job creation by others.

I don't know what reforms the minister is talking about because there was/is none. Before the administration started shying away from its obligations to Nigerians in the name of reforms, power generation was the exclusive responsibility of the federal government. Improvement in power supply alone would have resulted in creation of tens of millions of jobs.

Instead, the government grounded the power, energy and other sectors to allow PDP members and even their children to look superhuman. Refineries were grounded to allow a few dumb sycophants to import refined products. At the end of the day, businesses had to close because they could not break even, having to generate power themselves and pay 419 prices for diesel for instance with tens of millions of Nigerians thrown out of jobs. Instead of improving the investment climate (power, security, purchasing power of Nigerians, education, roads, etc.), “His Excellency” was globetrotting for more than four years reaching out to more intelligent people (those with a better appraisal of the investment climate) on investment opportunities in Nigeria.

Have we ever imagined what the country would look like if the government was sincere with power, energy, education, healthcare and roads to start with?

1. Businesses would boom and do just business, and not power generation.
2. Tens of millions of jobs would have been created by businesses, leading to drastic reduction in unemployment.
3. Nigerians would have saved money wasted on generators and fuel for investment.
4. Foreign investors would have come on their own just like our political office holders voluntarily stash their loot abroad. I can’t remember President Bush and PM Blair coming to invite them to bring stolen money to their countries.
5. Prices of petroleum products would drop.
6. Costs of living would generally drop. Imagine Aso Rock and other government houses not being run on generators and all political office holders and their wards attending public hospitals and schools only. PHCN, hospitals and schools would receive the necessary attention and to sit up. Public office holders MUST patronise public institutions to ensure things are working well.
7. Corruption would reduce, as political office holders would not make criminal security votes for themselves to start with.
8. Standard of living would have drastically gone up.
9. Nigerians would not pay twice for things (power, security, potable water, roads, etc.) that they have already paid for through their taxes.
10. We would earn the respect of the international community.
11. We would no longer beg for alms from those we are supposed to be richer than.
12. Etc., etc.

For eight years the only thing we heard from an inept administration was that government alone could not do everything when in fact, it did not do anything for, except collection of taxes from Nigerians. It takes sincerity to make the system work even if the government is headed by a listening dumb ass. But unfortunately, we had one combining ignorance and arrogance. It is very easy to make the system work if every head of a non-performing outfit is booted out. The next person would simply perform or get booted out until we have round pegs in round holes. The outgoing administration was only interested in cheap popularity and so ruthlessly crushed every good idea on moving the country forward as this, in the eyes of our infallible and all-wise political office holders, amounted to opposition. ‘Remember Chief Bola Ige who was bent on moving the country forward and what the government did to him?

Government, instead of enforcing our laws, watered them down. What does it take to insist on the police for instance doing their job? Instead, government found ICPC and EFFC convenient distractions. Now our near jobless policemen paid with taxpayers’ money now terrorise innocent Nigerians by extorting money from them on our roads, sit in the front seats of vehicles of criminals who can afford the price, take to armed robbery, assist government in vote rigging, sit at the gates of criminals and private businesses, go about arresting innocent Nigerians for violating restrictions on movement during environmental sanitation even when their barracks are not suitable for habitation by animals, etc. The result is unprecedented lawlessness that suits government agenda of looting, vote rigging and all sorts of vices.

May the Almighty God not allow this type of administration in this country again! Amen.

Nigeria must move forward

Nigeria must move forward. Atiku is heading for Tribunal or calling for cancellation of last 2007 general election is not possible. To me, all the military headed by Atiku under Buhari should b ready to face the punishment to the damaged done to Nigeria Economic. Atiku is under the custody of EFCC not yet konw his faith, now is talking about cancellation of election. He is a joker, I pray, he will never rule this country again bcos he is not a good leader. Pat Utomi, u have a good legacy. By the way u r just a young future leader. So relate your case to "Abraham Lincon" of America. Yaradua has a good legacy for his tenure as a governor in his state. I think he can do something particularly, the most promise of restoring the power supply. God will grant him wisdom and fear of not be corrupted by the bad ones that are still in government
